The Empath

Just as she went to open the door she froze listening to a voice that was hissing and spitting. She turned to the man terrified. "It's him!" Lily mouthed and he put his ear to the door. "Wormtail, it seems we have a visitor. A young witch stunned my poor Nagini when she tried to kill her." The voice said in a somewhat amused tone. "I'm guessing she's here on a rescue mission. How incredibly foolish."

"How did you find me?" he asked her. She stepped to the side, revealing a small house elf who had been standing next to her, smiling back at him. "Dobby? What are you doing here?" "Helping Miss Lily," said Dobby matter-of-factly in his small squeaky voice. "Harry Potter must hurry, for someone he cares for dearly could be killed." "Who, Dobby? Who could be killed?" Harry asked the house elf." "Dobby cannot say, he likes Miss Lily and keeps her secrets. Harry Potter must trust Miss Lily and hurry," he said, looking up at Harry.

"I thought you were dead. What happened? How did you get out of the Ministry? Where have you been?" Harry asked him. "It's a long story. I'll tell you later once we get - LILY!" Sirius yelled as Lily fell to the floor. Harry ran over to her. "She fainted," he told Sirius. "There's not much time now. You must get her out of here now!" he told Harry in a very urgent tone. Harry looked at him confused. "Why? What's happened to her? What about you? I can't -" "Harry, my leg's broken, and I'm too weak to get out of here on my own, but you have to get her out of here!" he said quickly, nodding in Lily's direction.

"Sirius, I can explain? Snape yelled. "Explain how while I was in Azkaban, you were raising my daughter? Tell me, when I escaped Azkaban and the Order came here to Black Manor, why you still didn't tell me that my daughter was alive? You evil, conniving bastard, YOU CAME - INTO MY HOUSE - AND LIED TO MY FACE! You knew that I was still looking for Hannah and our child and said nothing, you came into my house, helped the Order, and then you went home, and raised MY DAUGHTER!? Sirius yelled. "Dumbledore's trust in you is the only thing that has kept me from killing you so far, but if you don't start TALKING RIGHT NOW - AND TELL ME EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED, I WILL KILL YOU RIGHT HERE IN FRONT OF EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!"

The mood of the story lightens as everyone at 12 Grimmauld Place celebrates Harry's sixteenth birthday. As he nervously sits beside Lily and opens a very sentimental gift from Sirius, Harry decides that it's the best birthday ever. There's also another confrontation between Sirius and Snape. Next chapter you'll find out how Sirius lived after falling behind the veil.

For the last sixteen years Lily has been kept far away from England and her parents? past. In this chapter, Lily goes to Diagon Alley and is very surprised at how this part of the wizarding world reacts to her when they find out that she is the daughter of Hannah Patil and Sirius Black. With meeting the Minister of Magic, getting proposed to, and facing her family?s history for the first time, this proves to be a very exciting first visit to Diagon Alley. When they return home, Dumbledore and Sirius tell Harry and Lily how Sirius lived after falling through the veil.

With everything that's happened to Harry Potter, Dumbledore just told him that the faith of the wizarding world rested on his shoulders. How can one boy handle this much heartache and responsibility?
