Chapter Eight

Owl Post

Ginny was sitting at the Gryffindor table, eating breakfast, when Hermione handed her her schedule for this term. Ginny was studying it when the morning owl post arrived. There was a strange owl in the usual flock, and it was heading straight for her. The owl dropped the parchment into her outstretched hand and read:

Dear Ginny,

You won't believe what is going on down here! You know the girl I saw in Diagon Alley before I left? And how I thought it was strange that I hadn't received any information on the person I was training? Well the reason they didn't give me any info was because the trainee was an American and a woman, and they didn't want to scare me off! Ginny, it's her! We met at the Bank this morning and haven't left each other's sides yet. She's great Gin! I can't express what I am feeling right now.

Give my love to Harry, Hermione, Ron, Forge, and Gred! I'll write again soon!

Ginny re-read the letter in astonishment. Then she screamed and began to lump up and down. The whole Great Hall turned and looked at the crazy girl with the red hair. Ron and Harry rushed over to her.

"Ginny! Ginny! What's wrong?" Harry asked with pain in his face, as she inadvertently jumped on his foot. Then Harry and Ron saw the smile. Harry loved that smile. Harry smiled back, but Ron was still obviously freaking out.

"Ron calm down, she s just excited!" Harry said reassuringly.

"What?!? Then why is she screaming?" Ron asked, looking increasingly more confused. Hermione had joined them.

"What's going on?" Hermione asked.

"Ginny got a letter, and now all she can do is scream, smile, and jump up and down. We don't get it," Ron responded after giving his girlfriend a kiss. Ginny threw the letter at Mione. She read it and the guys watched, as her eyes grew steadily bigger! Soon Hermione had joined in the screaming, smiling, and jumping.

"Girls!" Ron and Harry said in unified exasperation. Seeing the blank expressions of their boyfriends, Ginny and Hermione rolled their eyes and stopped the screaming and jumping.

"What is going on?" Harry asked for what seemed like the thousandth time.

"You know that girl Bill saw in Diagon Alley?" Ginny responded gleefully.

"Yeah, of course, the hot one," Ron said. A comment he regretted as soon as it left his mouth, as it quickly earned a punch in the arm from Hermione.

"Well, when he go to his new assignment, and met his new trainee, it was her!"

"It was who?" Harry asked.

"The girl from Diagon Alley you git!" Ron remarked.

"Ooooh! Wow! That is unreal!" Harry responded as if he hadn't just heard his best friend call him a git.

"I wonder what she's like?" Ginny wondered out loud.

"I bet she's wonderful!" Mione responded.

"Of course she is! She picked Bill, didn't she?!" Ginny said excitedly, wondering if they'll get to meet his amazing girl.
