Chapter Three
The Burrow
"Oy! Anyone home?" Charlie hollered as he apparated in the kitchen, silently cursing his brother Ron for introducing "oy" into his vocabulary.
"Hey Bill!" yelled Ginny as she and her boyfriend, the famous Harry Potter, who was also Ron's best friend, burst into the kitchen. They had begun seeing each other at the beginning of the summer. That was all Bill knew, and all he wanted to know. Bill was the eldest of seven kids, and Ginny was the youngest, and the only girl. He was naturally protective of her, probably more than he should be.
"Harry," he grunted at The Boy Who Lived (and probably snogged with his little sister). Bill wasn't sure if Harry's intentions were entirely noble.
"It is great to see you again Bill!" exclaimed Harry, who held Bill in the highest regard, and respected him immensely.
"Bill," Ginny started " I assure you Harry isn't going to be less than totally respectful! Plus, how is he going to pull anything when I have THREE older brothers at school with us! Plus he is completely terrified that Mum would kill him if he ever hurt me! Plus he knows I would hex him into his next lifetime." Harry wholeheartedly agreed for fear that Bill would be angry with him. After taking a deep, rather cleansing breathe Bill realized he could trust Ginny, and Harry as well.
Bill was just about to apologize to Harry when his twin brothers walked in with their trademark mischievous grins. Fred and George would be beginning their final year at Hogwarts in a couple of days and Bill had a sneaking suspicion that they would be the most successful of the Weasley Clan, unless Ron married Hermione. Which everyone thought was a distinct possibility, because Ron was the only who could put us with Hermione, and vise versa.
"Oh bloody hell! What the hell are you two up to?" Bill asked cautiously, knowing full well what may lie ahead.
"Nothin'." Fred said with a smirk that made everyone but his partner in crime cringe.
"Absolutely nothing!" George echoed barely able to hold in his excitement. They smiled as if they knew something no one else did. Everyone just shrugged off the inevitable trouble they would get into, because they always did. At least Ginny, the real prankster of the family had enough sense to not get caught. Then Harry noticed Bill.
"Hey is it just me or does Bill look different?"
Bill was caught off guard; he had hoped no one would notice.
"He does! What happened? Did something happen while you were at Diagon Alley?!?" Ginny asked excitedly.
"Yeah, spill the beans man!" George piped in.
"What beans?" asked Ron as he and Hermione walked into the kitchen.
"Something happened to Bill," Fred said oozing curiosity.
"Oooo, do tell Bill! C'mon!" as Hermione echoed the enthusiasm of the whole group. Bill took a deep breath as he explained about the Girl. The whole time he felt this huge, stupid grin on his face. When he noticed this he began to prepare himself for the inevitable ribbing that was coming his way. When he finished, it didn't happen. Hermione and Ginny had tears in their eyes, and all the boys looked rather, well, jealous.
"Bill…," Ron started.
"That was…" Fred and George continued.
"AMAZING!" Ginny and Hermione finished, jumping up and down with obvious glee.
"Well it's not like I'll ever see her again.! Some amazing witch, with great legs, in Diagon Alley! Where you never see the same person twice," Bill said sadly. "I'm sure I'll never see her again. Especially since I'm leaving tomorrow! It's not like she'll be working at Gringotts in the same coastal, Spanish town."
Hermione responded in her usual matter-of-fact way, "Well if it is meant to be it will be." Harry and Ron rolled their eyes they were used to Hermione, but couldn't wait to point out to her that she had Bill depending on Divination, Mione's most hated subject.
You'll find her again Bill! Don't worry!" Ginny said as she gave her favorite brother a hug.
"Thanks, Gin,," as he hugged her back. "Harry you so much as.." But Harry cut him off.
"I wouldn't dream of it. I respect you all too much. And plus five against one wouldn't exactly be my idea of a good time."
"Good to hear it. I gotta go pack," Bill responded, his mind back on the blonde with the legs.
