Severus Snape was never a trusting soul but to be muzzled by Dumbledore after an attack by a ravening beast was a betrayal that hit hard. Unfortunately it was just the first of three that all but destroyed young Snape, physically and mentally. He is rescued and reassured by some unlikely players who recognise a useful boy when they meet one.

Narcissa announces her pregnancy and the Malfoys are overjoyed as the next generation is secured. Lucius can no longer take the duties his Lord has for him and so Severus finds he is now going to be more involved in the politics of the movement.

Tom Riddle takes the friendship between them to a new level and Severus learns a harsh new truth about Dark magic and the ongoing affects.

Severus’ nightmares pique Lord Voldemort’s curiosity about his training at his grandmother’s hands but he has to leave the country unexpectedly. A murder at Snape Manor causes Severus to have to answer questions posed by the Aurors. Abraxas is worried and sends his personal solicitor along, just in case.

Expediency comes in many forms and often responses are dictated by the situation, the pressures brought to bear by outside influences and peoples’ expectations. And sometimes expectations are spectacularly failed by those we expect most of.

The Heir to Malfoy is about to be born and Lord Voldemort asks something of Severus that causes him a dilemma. The Slytherin manages to avoid the trap neatly but feels there is something changing in his Lord.

Abraxas makes some arrangements for his passing but his solicitor brings more than just legal documents to Malfoy Manor.

Tom is Denied on many fronts and is not happy, everyone he approaches fails to comply with his requests or so it seems, every plan and strategy he initiates goes awry. The setbacks make him doubly anxious to succeed

Here is a glimpse of the manoeuvrings that goes on behind the scenes at a Pureblood party. Lord Voldemort orders Severus to go and apply for a job with Dumbledore at Hogwarts and Severus agrees.

Snape goes for his interview at Hogwarts and overhears a very interesting Prophecy which he conveys to Tom's ears, with unexpected results.

Severus makes a discovery in Riddle's rooms that send alarm bells ringing through his mind. Tom broods on the meaning of hte Prophecy. A chance meeting with an old friend and a fight with Tom Riddle sets Severus on a path that could prove fatal.

A family Potion acts as the key to unlock Pandora's Box but there is no hope to leven the revelations.

Snape is taken to Hogwarts by his house-elf to overcome the affects of the potion he has taken. The results of that one incident are far reaching and life changing

A decision is taken, a vow made and the consequences just keep rolling on.
