Chapter 6- Decisions

Harry stepped out of the fire and found himself at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The gold and red phoenix perched on a golden perch by the door told Harry that he was in Professor Dumbledore's office. He turned to face the desk and saw Dumbledore staring at him, his blue eyes twinkling.

"Hello Harry," he simply said.

"Hello Professor," responded Harry.

Professor Dumbledore stood and motioned for Harry to sit. "We must wait for Arabella, please sit. Would you like some tea?" he said as he sat back down in his seat.

"Um... sure," said Harry. He looked at the walls above Professor Dumbledore's head where all the previous headmasters and head mistresses were scowling at him. Obviously, they weren't used to seeing a student at Hogwarts during the summer holiday. Professor Dumbledore used his wand to prepare the tea and in no time, he placed a cup in front of Harry.

"Did you enjoy your holiday, Harry?" asked Dumbledore, sipping his tea.

"It was okay. As good as it can be when you spend it with Muggles who hate you," answered Harry.

Professor Dumbledore chuckled. "Yes, I suppose it was not the best time."

Suddenly a loud pop could be heard from the fireplace. Harry turned to see Mrs. Figg climbing out of the fireplace.

"Well Arabella, its good to see you again," Professor Dumbledore said, as he stood to greet her.

"You too, Albus. I trust you are well," she responded.

"Yes, my dear sister. I am," said Professor Dumbledore.

"Sister?" said Harry in surprise.

"Yes, Harry. Arabella is my sister," said Dumbledore, giving Harry a smile. He turned back to Mrs. Figg. "What happened?"

"Pettigrew came to the Dursleys'. I was able to fight him off and he fled," said Mrs. Figg gravely. "No doubt he returned to Voldemort to inform what has taken place."

Professor Dumbledore started to pace as he placed his wand to his temple to think.

"Are Aunt Petunia and Dudley okay?" asked Harry. He might not like the Dursleys but he didn't want them to die because of him.

Mrs. Figg gave him a reassuring smile. "They are fine, Harry. A little shaken up, but Pettigrew did not harm them."

"Oh good," Harry said.

"What shall we do, Albus?" asked Mrs. Figg, turning once more to her brother.

Dumbledore had a grave face. "You shall return to your home, Arabella. I do not think Voldemort would attack the Dursleys now that he knows Harry is no longer here. But just in case, you should be there. Harry will remain here at Hogwarts. He is safe here."

"Very well, Albus. Is there anything else you would like to do?" she said.

"Please inform Remus and Sirius what has happened. Sirius, no doubt, will want to know Harry is all right."

Harry frowned. "Sirius is gone."

Dumbledore looked sharply at him in surprise. "What?"

"He left the country. He sent me an owl this morning," responded Harry.

"It's true, Albus. I got an owl from him also this morning," said Mrs. Figg. "He wrote that he was doing something for you."

Dumbledore took a seat behind his desk. "If Sirius went away, things are very grave indeed."

"Is Sirius going to be okay?" asked Harry, worried.

"I do not know, Harry."

"Where did he go? Why?" asked Harry.

"I do not know, Harry. I have an idea where he might have gone, but I cannot be certain. As to why he went, I suspect it was to protect you," responded Professor Dumbledore.

"Protect me?"

"He went to retrieve something that may help defeat Voldemort for good."

"What is it?"

"This I cannot tell you Harry. Not until you are ready."

Harry knew by the tone of his voice that the subject was closed. He sat down silently.

Professor Dumbledore turned to his sister. "Please Arabella. Go and see Remus and let him know what has happened. Perhaps he knows how to contact Sirius."

"Very well, brother. Goodbye. Goodbye Harry," she said.

"Bye Mrs. Figg. Thank you," Harry said.

She gave him a smile before jumping into the flames.

Dumbledore turned to Harry. "Well no doubt you are hungry and tired after your ordeal."

"Yes."

"Why don't you take your things to your dormitory and we shall meet in the Great Hall for lunch," Dumbledore said quietly.

"Okay."

"The password is Grumblekins," said Professor Dumbledore.

"Thank you Professor." With that, Harry bewitched his trunk to float behind him and left Dumbledore's office for Gryffindor Tower.
