Author's Note:
I'd like to thank Katie for her beta-reading skills. Also, I would like to thank Gina for giving me the line, "...in his socks... and only his socks..."

Possibly, just possibly, it was a very bad idea to go to dinner that night. Whether or not it would have affected what happened. If I had just starved, nobody would have had to see it. People wouldn't still be talking of it.

Four nights ago, I was sitting in the Gryffindor common room with my friends, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. We were the only people left in the room, and they had been arguing over something about house elf's rights once again, so I found myself spacing out.

"Harry, over here! Are you listening to me?" Hermione said, waving her hand in my face. I had been staring at the wall behind them, and I turned to face her. She looked upset.

"Sorry, but I really don't want to keep having this conversation over and over again," I said, standing up and walking towards the portrait of the fat lady, "I'm hungry. Let's go eat."

Not waiting for them, I left the common room and headed down the stairs. I had reached the Entrance Hall, when they finally caught up. Ron glared at me, completely out of breath. I gave an apologetic grin, then walked into the Great Hall. There were no professors present, just students. Very rowdy students. The three of us slowly walked into the crowd.

"I wonder where the teachers are. They should be here right now. Obviously these students can not be left alone," Hermione said, as she got smacked in the head by some object that just came flying out of nowhere.

We stopped in the middle of the room and Fred Weasley, one of Ron’s older brothers, walked up to me. He had a goofy grin on his face, and could barely keep his balance.

"Here, Harry, have some. Everybody's drinking it," Fred said, handing me a bottle. I noticed it was rum. Everyone was drunk and I was standing in the middle of it.

"Don't take it Harry. Only a few are drunk, the rest are just being idiots," someone I had never met before said. He had Ravenclaw robes on, but I haven't seen him since. I looked around. Fred had slumped away laughing, and everyone was talking loudly and roaming around. Nothing interesting at all. Yet, I'm me, so of course something odd was going to happen.

A loud laugh echoed through the hall, and everyone went quiet, turning to were they had heard the noise. There was a loud gasp followed by a lot of snickering. I turned around to see and that's when it begun. Malfoy, Draco Malfoy, the boy with the most pride and self-respect I had ever met, was standing in front of everyone in his socks... only his socks. It was the most... there are no words for it, it was just wrong. Evidently, he was one of the few drunk.

"Hi," he said, smiling. It was disturbing. Draco Malfoy should never smile like that. It makes him look like a pleasant person, which he's not.

"Harry Potter! Potter... Po-t-ter. Haha! Potter. I love that name," he said, talking to himself. I looked around for Hermione and Ron. Hermione was covering her eyes and facing the opposite direction of Malfoy and Ron was just standing there with a look of complete horror on his face. Now, I had thought that his nudity was bad enough. It was just the beginning. He then started singing. To me.

"Here I am,

This is me,

There's nowhere else on earth I'd rather be.

Here I am,

Just me and you,

Tonight we make our dreams come true."

It was so strange, and I was surprised that he could actually sing fairly well. He then started walking towards me, dancing a little as he sung. I flinched and started to walk away from him, making sure he wasn't following.

"It's a new world,

It's a new start,

It's alive with the beating of young hearts.

It's a new day,

It's a new plan,

I've been waiting for you,

Here I am."

He was starting to advance on me. I tried to run but as luck would have it I tripped over Fred's foot which he had stuck out in front of me. George was standing right next to him laughing. He wasn't looking at me though. I looked behind me to see what he was looking at but there wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Guess he was just laughing at nothing. I looked back, about to get up, but Lee Jordan tumbled over me and knocked me on my back. Everyone was staring at Malfoy and laughing. They turned to look at me, wondering what I might do, but became distracted when Malfoy started singing again. He sat down next to me on the floor.

"Here we are,

We've just begun,

And after all this time

Our time has come.

Yeah here we are,

Still goin' strong,

Right here in the place where we belong.

Oh, it's a new world,

It's a new start,

It's alive with the beating of young hearts.

It's a new day,

And a new plan,

I've been waiting for you,

Here I am."

Draco paused, and grinned at everyone. "I forgot what comes next..." he said. Then, thankfully, walked out of the Great Hall, presumably to the Slytherin common rooms. Everyone turned to me as if I might understand what had just happened.

"Come on Harry, we should just go back to the common room," Hermione said, pulling me up. I looked around then ran.

I stayed in my bed for three days. Finally I was forced to go to class, and as luck would have it, it was double potions with the Slytherins. Hermione was trying to make me feel better but she was also trying to get Ron to stop twitching at the memory so it didn't much good.

As soon as I walked in to the class, everyone turned around. All the Slytherins grinned. It was as if they had planned the whole thing.

"Okay Draco," Pansy said, "Harry's here, better get naked." They all laughed and Ron looked like he'd die if he saw Draco act that way again. Malfoy turned beet red and left the room. I'm going to have to listen to that story forever. If only I hadn't gone to eat dinner....
