Chapter One
The Meeting

As Draco walked down Diagon Alley with Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Ginny they were talking about Fred and George's newest project.

"...And so when you eat this chew, you turn colors and you start to burp constantly. Mum says if they feed it to us without us knowing, they're out for good," said Ginny.

"Out? What d'you mean?" asked Harry.

"Out like they have to move, Harry. It totally sucks," Ron said in disgust. "Mum and I had a huge row about it. I told her she was a bloody heifer, she turned purple and said, 'One more outburst from you, young man and you'll be out with your brothers!' Mum was awful mad about it, now I can't go out with Cho until I get back to school. Totally bites."

"Yeah, I know what you mean, man," Draco drawled. " Me and my mum go at it all the time. Especially since dad got the kiss and everything."

"Wait a sec, who's that?" Hermione said suddenly. They all looked. This girl with soft, curly reddish-brown hair wearing a pair of olive green Muggle cargo jeans, and a olive green sweater from Old Navy, and black Vans.

"Dear God," breathed Draco. "She's beautiful. I've got to meet her."

"Like to see you do that Dra, when we tried to talk to her she told us to bugger off," Fred said, walking over from his and George's shop. "I'll give you five Galleons if you can get her to talk."

"All right then," he said. "I take your bet. And I'll prove you wrong." He walked over to her, and paused as she dropped some books.

"Standard book of Spells Grade Seven, Advanced Potions for Advanced Students, Charms for Experts, and Apperating: The How-To-Book," he said, picking them up and handing them to her.

"Bugger off," she said, not looking at him.

"Excuse me?"

She glanced up quickly.

"I said, Bug....Oh, hello. Thanks for helping me with my books. I'm new. I have to transfer from my old academy to Hogwarts. I'll be in Gryffindor, Professor Dumbledore sorted me two weeks ago. By the way my name's Liz Wall, well Elizabeth Abigail Montgomery-Wall; my mom is a individual spirit," she said, rolling her eyes. "My dad's the 'Wall' part. He insisted that his name be in there. It kinda helps too, you know? When you're somewhere and you don't want to give your real name."
Draco looked amazed.

"Wow, I've never met anyone with parents like that. Why are you transferring to Hogwarts in your last year anyway?" asked Draco.

"Dad works for the Department of Magic in the States, and he was selected to be the ambassador to England, since he just got back from being the ambassador to Ireland. He'd been there since before I was born. I went to Lorien Academy of Magic there."

Hermione heard this on account of they were walking back towards his group.

"Lorien? You went to Lorien?" she said in tones of amazement.

"What's the big deal about that?" Harry said, puzzled.

"I don't think you understand, Harry," Ginny explained. "Lorien's the best magic school in the world. It's been around since 1500 B.C. Centaurs have taught the Astronomy and Magical History classes since 500 B.C. One of the most famous prophecies came from there. Cassandra Trelawny made it. You have to be very, very, very, very talented to even get considered to be accepted. Even Professor Dumbledore didn't get in."

"Wow," Harry said, utterly amazed.

"You don't have to be that smart, just really, really, really, really powerful," Liz drawled.

"Oh, and you are? Show us then," Hermione said, huffily.

"No, I'd rather not."

"Show us."

"Fine," Liz snapped. "Emporatia Bahesi Rogeu!" Liz said, pointing her wand at a solid stone pillar. The pillar changed into Scharazade and then into solid gold.

"Lucky us!" shouted George. "That's our store!" He grabbed Liz and kissed her heartily, she barely had a second to breathe, Draco noticed, before Fred snatched her up and did the same.

"Oh, crap, not again," she said, breathlessly, right after he let her go, before she fainted. Draco rushed to catch her, getting there just in time. As he picked her up he realized he didn't know what to do with her.

"Let's take her to the Leaky Cauldron and see if she has a room," Ron suggested. "That way we could poke about her stuff without her knowing and doing us like she did that pillar." So they walked back to the Leaky Cauldron, and asked the innkeeper whether or not she had a room.

"Oh, aye," he said. "She came in 'ere three weeks ago with what must've been 'er parents. They dropped her off paid full through gave 'er an 'umongous pouch o' gold and left saying they were proud of 'er. No hug, no kiss, no 'We'll miss you'. Poor girl," he sighed. "Oh, well. Room 11 'ere's the key." He watched them as they went up the stairs to number 11.

When they got to the room Draco unlocked it and went in, closing the door behind him. He went over to the bed and laid her down. As he was about to walk out the door she asked him a question.

"What's your name anyway? Just in case I want to find you." He stopped, turned, and walked over to her. Took her hand, kissed it, and replied.

"My name is Draco Malfoy, and I am at your service. But, what happened out there? Why did you faint?"

"I overdid it. Again. I really need to learn control, at least until I have a proper power source." After hearing that he bowed and walked out the door, thinking *Oh, My God she's going to think I'm a total freak now!*
"Nice to meet you, Draco. Hope to see you again. Please close the door behind you." Draco walked out, stunned.
