A/N: Umm... Yah, I'm not usually much of a country fan, but this song is actually very good. We always listen to the country station on the bus to school, and I heard this song and got an idea for a songfic...

Ginny was absolutely exhausted of being treated like a little girl. She was stuck at the Burrow with nothing to do but help clean and cook. She was never allowed to even go to headquarters anymore, or even write to Harry, at least she was not allowed to write to Harry, but that didn't mean she did not write to him anyway. At first they were just friendly notes, talking about what they were annoyed about at the moment. Harry was stuck at Privet Drive and she at the Burrow, so they had a lot in common.

Over the next couple weeks, they got incredibly close until one day she got the letter.

Ginny-

I can't take it anymore. I can't stand being here, in the house, even in London. I'm tired of everyone protecting me, and treating me like a child. I have to leave. I'm going to run away to America. If you want to come with me, I'll be stopping by the Burrow tomorrow at 9:15

Love Always,

Harry

She didn't know what to do when she first read it. She thought then ME. He wants ME to run away with him. She didn't know what possessed her, but the next thing she knew, she had dragged out her trunk and started packing. She finished quickly then shoved the trunk back under the bed. She stared at her self in the mirror and thought hard. I want to go. She realized. I can't stand being here anymore either. I don't want to be treated like a child. And Harry- he needs me.

She was in the backyard - they say it was a little past nine
When her prince pulled up - a white pickup truck

She was quite at dinner that night. She didn't argue with her Mom when she made her help out in the kitchen instead of play with her brothers. She helped clean up after, then let Fred and George test some prank stuff on her, then listened to her Mom explode at them for using them on their "poor, innocent, little baby sister". She didn't even blow up at being called a baby. She played a game of chess with Ron, and let him rant to her about the Cannons. She helped her Dad with some Muggle items, and he smiled and told her he was glad his "baby girl" was helping him. She let Charlie and Bill baby her, swing her around in circles and tell her stories. She wrote a letter to Percy, just talking of things she was doing lately and ranting a little, then one to Hermione, Luna and Neville. Her Mom told her to go to bed at 9:00 like usual, then she silently cried herself to sleep.

Her folks shoulda seen it comin' - it was only just a matter of time
Plenty old enough - and you can't stop love

She got up early the next morning and dragged her trunk outside to the garden where she hid it. Then she began to do some cleaning and hung out some laundry.

She stuck a note on the screen door - "sorry but I got to go"
That was all she wrote - her mama's heart was broke
That was all she wrote - so the story goes

Harry was there right on time, came in silently and looked at her, surprised to see her standing there with trunk in hand. Ginny noticed his eyes seemed rather red. But then she noticed her own were threatening to spill over with tears. She ran over to Harry and hugged him, and Harry planted a soft kiss on her forehead. Then they disappeared.

Now her daddy's in the kitchen - starin' out the window
Scratchin' and a rackin' his brains
How could 18 years just up and walk away
Our little pony-tailed girl growed up to be a woman
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye
She left the suds in the bucket
And the clothes hangin' out on the line

Molly Weasely yelled outside to Ginny to come in and help with lunch. She waited a couple minutes, then went outside to check on Ginny. When she opened the door a note fell out, and Molly hurried to headquarters.

Now don't you wonder what the preacher's gonna preach about Sunday morn
Nothin' quite like this has happened here before

Dumbledore called a meeting right away. It turns out they checked on Harry and he too had disappear, with a note explaining he had to leave, not to worry or look for him, he could take care of himself and he'd be back in a few years to kick Voldie's butt.

Well he must have been a looker - smooth talkin' son of a gun
For such a grounded girl - to just up and run
Course you can't fence time - and you can't stop love

Everyone was in shock. There was no way they had ever thought Harry or Ginny could ever run away like that. They assumed Ginny must have gone after Harry, no one could think of why he'd want to bring her along with him. Now they had two missing people, both of which who knew information that could be very useful to Voldemort, and they were possibly at opposite ends of the Earth.

Now all the biddy's in the beauty shop gossip goin' non-stop
Sippin' on pink lemonade
How could 18 years just up and walk away
Our little pony-tailed girl growed up to be a woman
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye
She left the suds in the bucket
And the clothes hangin' out on the line

There of course, was the theory that came from Tonks, that they'd probably ran away together, and Harry asked them not to waste their time, he knows enough about covering his tracks that we'll spend ages looking for him to arrive where he'd been a month ago. Moody supported the idea, but added it might be useful if they sent one or two people to places they might be and try to talk them into coming back, but it was rejected. The search was set on full force, with even the Ministry called in.

She's got her pretty little bare feet hangin' out the window
And they're headin' up to Vegas tonight
How could 18 years just up and walk away
Our little pony-tailed girl growed up to be a woman
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye
She left the suds in the bucket
And the clothes hangin' out on the line

Harry and Ginny sat on the roof of they're flat in New York. Turns out Sirius left it to Harry incase he wanted to "experience American culture " someday. Ginny sighed and looked at the new ring on her finger, then settled into Harry's arms.

The Weasely family was distraught. Percy had rushed home even, and showed them the letter he had received the day before Ginny had left. It sounded sad and frustrated, and Ginny had obviously vent some of her feelings to Percy, how she hated being treated like a baby, how she felt she needed to do something, anything to help out with the fight. How no one listened to her.

Yes. Ginny was grown up. She was grown up and left home and they may never see her again. The thing was she was right, they never did treat her like she was any older than 11, like she couldn't handle what they could, and yet they always counted on her, her or Harry to pull them through when the battles came because they had faced Voldemort before. They had faced a lot more then most of them, yet they were not even allowed out of the house. They could only hope they would succeed in finding them, and that if they did, they would forgive them and allow them to help them.

Harry and Ginny were now in a small beach house, that they had purchased after selling the flat. They knew that it would soon be found, as it would merely take someone looking carefully through Sirius' will to find out about it.. This location, however, they had made unplottable, and invisible. They had been studying hard every day, in hopes of someday being able to conquer Voldemort. yet they took time for fun too. Ginny never imagined that she would be here, with Harry in the course of a few short weeks her life had changed. But now she was happy. Things may not be perfectly as they should be, but it was close enough...
