Harry and Erica spent the whole day talking together, enjoying each other company. It turned out that Erika lived in London before she moved to Privet Drive. She spent the most of the day answering Harry's questions about living in a big city. Uncle Vernon was correct in he said that Mr. Johnson had gone to jail... but it was only on a technicality. He had been speeding one day, in a hurry to get to work, when he hit an old man crossing the street. The man died, and Mr. Johnson went to Jail.
Harry also told Erica about his life, well most of his life. He told her about living with the Dursely, and how he looked forward to returning to school in the fall, though he 'forgot' to mention exactly what school it was.
"Harry! HARRY!!! COME HOME!!!" Harry heard a distant voice calling.
"Oh, I gotta go," said Harry.
"Alright, I'll talk to you later," replied Erica.
"Bye," they both said as they departed.
Harry ran back to his house quickly, if he had been seen with Erica he'd be in major trouble. When He got back to the house he went straight for the kitchen to look at the clock. It was 5 'o clock and time to make supper for the Dursleys.
Aunt Petunia walked in, giving him a cold, icy look, which Harry had grown so accustomed to in his childhood.
"Where were you today?" she asked in a monotone voice.
"Out," replied Harry.
"You have work to do," she said in a voice that would make anyone else cringe.
Harry quickly set the table and started dinner.
After about a half an hour or so Dudley came home carrying a few new CD's in his pudgy little fingers.
Dudley had stopped picking on Harry now since Harry had much more muscle and was a lot taller then Dudley was.
"When are we gonna eat?" asked Dudley.
"As soon is this stupid, lazy, boy finishes making supper Dudums dear," replied Aunt Petunia with a kind and loving smile.
Harry didn't care anymore what he was called by these people; he was to busy thinking about Erica and how beautiful she was.
Uncle Vernon came home not long after that. Harry heard him yelling as soon as the door opened.
"Hello dear," Harry heard his aunt say.
Vernon was still yelling, it seemed as though he didn't even acknowledge his wife being there.
"Those stupid, good for nothing, neighbors of ours," Vernon yelled as he walked through the kitchen door.
"What's wrong now?" asked Dudley.
"That new neighbor of ours just tried to sell me a vacuum cleaner. Can you believe this? The nerve of some people," he replied.
"Well, I don't think they seem so bad," said Harry just barely audible.
Uncle Vernon walked over to Harry and leered down at him. His face was only inches away from Harry.
"Nobody asked you," he said through gritted teeth, "Now get back to making supper."
Harry had learned by now that it was no use trying to change the Dursleys mind about anything, so he went back to making supper again. He quickly put the food on the table.
'The faster there, the faster gone,' he thought.
The Dursleys sat down to eat and Uncle Vernon started talking about work and how everybody there were idiots.
After the table was cleared and dishes were done, Harry quickly left the house, and headed straight for Erica's. He wondered if it seemed a little desperate, after all, they had spent the whole day talking together.
Harry knocked on the door and a tall balding man who much reminded Harry of Mr. Weasely appeared.
"Hi," said Harry, "um, I'm looking for your daughter."
The man turned to the inside of the house and yelled for Erica. She quickly ran down the stairs and out the door.
"G'bye daddy," she said as she walked toward Harry.
They headed down the street toward the park, talking about supper and the weather.
"I like your father," said Harry.
"Thanks," replied Erica turning slightly pink.
They sat on the swings talking about life until the sunset.
"This is so beautiful," said Erica.
"It's not even in comparison to you," said Harry.
Erica blushed a bright red.
"Oh, gee Harry, I don't know what to say," said Erica.
"Say nothing and just enjoy this night."
They sat in silence for a few minutes just staring at the setting sun. There was no one around them, bringing peace and quiet.
"You know what I wish more than anything," asked Erica in a voice barely above a whisper.
"What's that?" asked Harry in soothingly.
"I wish that I could fly," said Erica.
Harry started feeling a little guilty for the fact that he could fly on his broomstick whenever he wanted to.
"Yeah," he said, "me to."
"Oh, look! It's the first star of the night," Erica exclaimed. "Make a wish!"
She closed her eyes tightly in concentration. Harry leaned in close to her and kissed her on the lips. At the moment he heard Aunt Petunia calling him from up the street.
"I gotta go," said Harry.
Erica just smiled with a look of content on her face and they started walking up the street.
By the time they reached their homes it was dark out and at their parting of ways they hugged each other and left silently.
Harry walked to his house and slowly opened the door. Uncle Vernon was sitting in front of the television watching the 10 o'clock news. Aunt Petunia was sitting in the chair next to him reading a magazine on gardening. They both stopped what they were doing when they saw Harry walk in.
"Where have you been?' asked his aunt.
"You weren't with that girl were you?" Uncle Vernon asked angrily.
"Please say you weren't," said Petunia.
"You'll give us a bad name," said Vernon
Harry just nodded and walked up to his bedroom with a slight smile spreading across his face. When he reached his room he took off his clothes and put on some of Dudleys old flannel pants.
He sat down next to the window and stared at the house across the street. At that moment he saw something. There were three birds off in the distance and from what he could tell they were all carrying packages of some sort.
