"Hey Ginny!" cried Hermione. She had something very cool and funny to tell her friend. It had been two months since the "incident" on the train. She had now been going out with Harry for two glorious months. But Malfoy had made her mad yet again. So now she was going to live up to her end of the bargain. She was going to tell Ginny.
"Hey Herms. What's up?" Ginny said without interest. She wished that Malfoy would actually like her. She loved him. But she wasn't expecting to hear what her friend was about to say...
"Gin, I have some, um, news to tell you." Hermione started to giggle. She still couldn't believe it. She couldn't believe that Draco liked Ginny.
"What is it? Spit it out," exclaimed Ginny, now getting interested. She lived for news, especially if it had anything to deal with Draco breaking up with Pansy Parkinson.
"Well, as you might know, Malfoy has broken up with that ape Parkinson," Hermione started to say as she watched her friend turn red. She then continued. "Well, it turns out, that he has feelings for a certain red-haired Gryffindor." Hermione smirked.
Ginny's jaw dropped. Surely Hermione was joking. Why, he could never like her... She ran out of the Gryffindor common room. But, as luck would have it, she ran into the one person she was trying to avoid. She ran into Draco Malfoy.
Now, Draco Malfoy was an ordinary 16 year old boy. Yes, he was evil, but that just came from his territory. Being a Slytherin, he was brought up to be evil. But something completely innocent haunted his mind. Ginny Weasley had haunted him for more than a year. He had tried to deny his feelings, but he knew that was impossible. He was walking the halls, when, surprisingly enough, Ginny herself ran into him.
"You okay Virginia?" he calmly asked. Or at least, as calm as he could get, with his heart racing. She stuttered, trying to talk, but finding it impossible. Dang, his body was nice.
"Yeah, Malfoy.. Hey, is it true? About you um....." she couldn't say anymore. She was too embarrassed.
"Is what true?" he asked confusedly. He didn't know what she was talking about.
"Do you like me?" she nervously asked. She stared into his easy-to-read face and saw pure and utter shock. " It's just that, Hermione said you did, and I uh, hoped that you..."she was cut off by Draco's hurt expression.
"You wish that I didn't like you so you could worship precious Potter?" He was really hurt. Why did Granger tell?
" No you stupid prat. I wanted you to like me. Because, well, because I like you back." She looked at her shoes. She had never been this embarrassed.
"WHAT? You actually like me?!! Yes!!!!" Draco picked her up and twirled her around. She started to giggle. Well, she thought, I guess Herm was right.
" Yes, I do, but could you turn it down a notch? IF my brother finds out, he'll murder you."
" I don't care. All I care about now is you..." He couldn't believe it. She actually liked him.
"But what about your father? Won't he be angry?" Ginny asked nervously. This was too good to be real.
" Frankly, love, I don't give a damn what that git thinks." Then out of the blue, came voices calling for Ginny. Draco hid Ginny in a nearby closet and waited for the ever present Dream Team.
" Malfoy, what are you doing by the Gryffindor common room?" Harry Potter yelled, wand ready. Hermione gently put a hand on his tense arm, and stepped up.
" Hello Draco. We were wondering if you had seen Ginny.?" Hermione winked at him at this, and he winked back.
" No I haven't. Why would I have? Me, a Malfoy, seen a Weaslette? Hah! The idea is laughable." He felt bad, thinking of what Ginny would say to that. But obviously, Hermione got his point.
" Thanks. Hey, if you see her, tell her we need to talk to her."
" Sure Hermione. Bye!" He watched them walk off, then he opened the closet door. He was pulled into the closet by his tie. He wondered what Ginny wanted, but he knew what he wanted. He bent down and kissed Ginny tenderly on the lips. She moaned, but pulled away from him.
" So are we going out then, Draco?" She said breathlessly. He nodded, and just laughed.
