Hand in hand, Ginny and Draco walked out of the Great Hall. Ginny noticed that more people were talking to her. She figured it was because of Draco, but she didn't care. They spent hours studying by the lake.

"Ginny, look- this is my first major test since you started tutoring me," Draco said as he handed her the parchment.

"Wow, a perfect score," Ginny complemented. "I guess that my potion really worked."

"Yeah, it helped me concentrate on you."

"Is that some line that you use on every girl?"

"Maybe I used to, but not since I got to know you." Draco put his arm around Ginny's neck, and they watched the lake.

It was quite entertaining to see Dennis Creevy try to work on his levitation charm. He was trying to levitate himself so he could walk on water. Again and again, he fell through when he got to the deepest part of the lake. Draco and Ginny were in tears from laughing so hard.

"Oh, it's almost time for supper," Ginny said, as she saw the shadows get long.

"Alright, lets go in. But Ginny, think about what I said."

~*~*~*~*~

Draco ate supper with many of his guy friends. Usually he would be surrounded by girls, flirting with them to see which one he could mess with that night. Now, the only girl that he wanted to get in bed with was Ginny. Malfoy spread word around school that Ginny was cool, and she was popular. Most of the girls from Slytherin were talking to her, which was still disappointing because no one from Gryffindor would talk to her.

"Come on you thick headed baboon," Malfoy spat out at he laughed hysterically. Goyle was always being funny because he was stupid, and completely ignorant of the fact. Crabbe just went along with the jokes because he was too slow to be stupid.

"Draco, why do you keep turning around?" Crabbe asked.

"He wants to see his girlfriend," Goyle replied for Draco.

Draco never really considered Ginny his girlfriend, just a sexy friend. Now, he started to see things clearer.

~*~*~*~*~

Poking her food, Ginny sat alone once again. She wasn't sure if people in Gryffindor weren't talking to her because she was close with Malfoy, but she would never know, because they never talked to her in the first place.

However, Ginny could feel the cold stare of Ron. All she could think about was that there was going to be an argument soon, and now that Ron thought that she was ruining her life, it was time for him to play big brother.

Ron never played big brother. He never let Ginny join his group, helped her with homework, or taught her how to play Quidditch. Actually, Ginny was glad he didn't teach her because in her opinion, he was very bad.

Finally, dinner was over, and everybody was proceeding to their common rooms. Draco made his way through the crowd to find her.

"I don't know about you, but I thought dinner would never end," Draco laughed.

"Me either," Ginny answered. With Draco's arm around her waist, Ginny and Draco walked out of the Great Hall.

Suddenly, Ginny was pulled back.

"Ginny, what the hell are you doing?" Ron yelled.

"What are you talking about?" Ginny asked, pretending to be confused.

"You know perfectly well what the hell I am talking about! You and Draco! Alright, you tried to get a little bit of attention, but this is enough!"

"Is there a problem, Ginny?" Draco asked, staring at Ron.

"I believe there is!" Ron shouted. "Ginny lets go up to the common room to finish this discussion."

"Well, you little weasel, better enjoy your little 'discussion' in the common because this may be your last one." Draco spat out. "I'll see you later Ginny." Draco leaned in and gave her a kiss on the cheek, then walked away.

~*~*~*~*~

Draco couldn't resist putting his arm around Ginny's waist. How he wanted to do so much more to her! He would have touched her ass, but he didn't want to cause a scene if she took it offensively.

As he was leading her out the door, he felt her let go of him and turn around. It took him a minute to find where she went, and then he found her in front of Ron.

'Great,' thought Draco. 'Now the smelly ol' weasel is starting to but into business that isn't his. I need to teach him a lesson.'

That kiss should have set that weasel right.

Draco wanted to have Ginny so bad, that it mad his negative attitude toward Harry and Ron even worse. If they cared any about Ginny, then the will be very upset when they find out their plan.

~*~*~*~*~

"Now what the hell is Draco talking about; this may be the last discussion in the common room," Ron asked.

"If you cared at all about me in the past 16 years of my life, then maybe you would have some clue!" Ginny yelled back. Harry and Hermione just sat down on the couch, not wanting to get involved.

"Ginny, you're going to get hurt!"

"Since when did you care? Since I found someone who cares about me or since I began seeing your rival. You might as well consider me your rival too then."

"Ginny, just trust me! Draco is bad news!"

"Why! Because you said so? You haven't said a word to me in 16 years, why should I trust you now?"

"You are alone, so that makes you vulnerable to believe what anybody says."

"I wouldn't be alone, if you had let me hang around with you and your friends!"

"I would have let you, if I knew how this was how you were going to turn out!"

"No, Ron! Just leave me alone!" Ginny stormed into the dormitories and cried herself to sleep.

~*~*~*~*~

Draco ate his breakfast in one quick motion. He just wanted to eat and go find Ginny. They had to go talk to Professor McGonagall.

When he was finished, he shot up, looked over at Ginny and nodded. She looked back at him and nodded back. Draco walked out of the Great Hall at a normal pace, then in a slower motion when he got to the doors because all he wanted to do was look at Ginny. The Bloody Baron and Sir Nicholas passed Draco as he was waiting for Ginny. What was taking her so long?

~*~*~*~*~

"Ron, I have the right to go where ever I want!" Ginny shouted in her brother's face during breakfast.

"I don't want you to see Malfoy!" Ron shouted back.

"I will see him no matter where I go, so if you have a problem, deal with it! What if you were told to stay away from Hermione because she was a mudblood? How would you feel?"

"Mudblood?" Hermione asked, confused. She was used to Draco calling her this, but not Ginny.

"Muggle-born," Ginny responded. "You know what I mean. I am leaving, so just end this conversation." Ginny picked up her books and left the table.

'I hope Draco isn't mad that I took so long,' Ginny thought.

Outside the Great Hall doors was Draco waiting.

"I thought you were never going to come," Draco joked.

"Neither did I," Ginny answered. Grabbing her around the waist, Draco led her to Professor McGonagall. Ginny looked at Draco's eyes. They were comforting to her now, but they made her lust Draco even more. Before, Ginny would have never wanted to look in his eyes. She remembered 1st year, when she stuck up for Harry in Flourish and Blotts. When she said, "Leave 'im alone," she looked right into his eyes, and almost wanted to scream out of fear.

~*~*~*~*~

"This has never been asked before," Professor McGonagall responded. "But I must ask, why is Mr. Malfoy here, Ms. Weasley?"

"I need him here to help me out," Ginny replied. Draco tightened his grip around her waist. He was proud of her for sticking up for herself and going through with her decision.

"I suppose, that it could be done," McGonagall finally said. "Tonight at dinner, we will have a short ceremony with the hat."

Draco was so happy, that he rushed Ginny out of the classroom. "I can't believe that you will do it!"

"I couldn't have done it with out you!"

~*~*~*~*~

Ginny could tell that even Draco was nervous about their meeting. 'He really does care about me!' Ginny thought.

"I can't believe that you will do it!" Draco said excited.

"I couldn't have done it with out you!" Ginny responded.

As the walked down the corridor, Ginny looked at Draco. At the same time, Draco looked at her. Mesmerized by his eyes, Ginny leaned towards him, and gently kissed him on the lips.

~*~*~*~*~

'She kissed me!' Draco thought.

~*~*~*~*~

The day seemed to drag by for Ginny. She and Draco barley saw each other that day, because Draco had to make up a few tests. They saw each other once during lunch out at the lake where they kissed yet again. Finally, they met up before dinner outside the Great Hall.

"Are you ready for this?" Draco asked.

"Of course," Ginny responded looking confident, as if to go into battle. Then they walked in, and sat at their house tables. Everyone had noticed the stool in the front of the Great Hall. Then Professor McGonagall hushed the students.

"May I have your attention," she announced. "Will Ginny Weasley please come up to be sorted into her house."
