Ginny gets some QT with our favorite Slytherin professors, does something she should have done a long time ago, makes the Quidditch team at a new position, and gives Harry a run for his money in the nocturnal (to say nothing of internal) torment department. And of course, more McGraths and more Herpo.

Ginny endures more night-time nonsense, Ron is disconcertingly absent, Harry comes to the rescue as usual, the Kernel rules, Slytherins show up, Herpo is still the most awesome cat ever, and the McGraths make us love them even more.

Ginny and Andy chase Harry to the library, it rains a lot, Andy and Nadine show their love for each other, it rains some more, Ginny begins "remedial potions," Devon finally speaks, it keeps raining, Baron Ramsey thinks highly of Ginny, the Room of Requirement makes an appearance, Harry is hungry, Duncan is a tool, the rain finally stops, and the Gryffindors play Quidditch. No Herpo in this one, but to compensate there is lots of Harry and some half-naked athletics. Definite spoilers for PTD.

The D.A. takes a picture, Harry is strangely affectionate but still a dork, Ginny takes her O.W.L.'s, Sheldon fancies Luna, Olivia is crazy jealous, and . . . best of all . . . Ginny and Professor Wrightman have a good shout at each other, which is not only entertaining, but probably cathartic as well. More PTD spoilers than you could ever imagine, including a teensy--but excellent--missing scene from Miranda's masterpiece.

Ginny shows us that her spectacular row with Gertrude Wrightman was merely the warm up act; gauntlets are thrown in the kitchen at Grimmauld Place; Harry seems confused; Percy is still a git; Ginny learns her O.W.L. results; Christmas morning is less than spirited; Herpo is still the best kitten ever; Hermione is more shrill than usual; Ginny meets her new Potions partner; and the boys of Hogwarts unite.

Will Andy and Nadine ever come out of the fifth-year boys dormitory? Are Ginny and Harry really friends now? Where are all the fifth, sixth, and seventh year girls? Will Hermione ever realize that she has no infuence over Ginny? Is Ron conscious of the world around him? Where is Baron Ramsey? Is Theo Nott ever serious about anything besides Potions? All these questions are answered . . . and a little slice of Herpo for good measure.

The Ramseys return to school, Gryffindor plays Slytherin in Quidditch, Harry learns some things about Professor Wrightman that cause him some pain, Harry and Ginny yell at each other several times, Devon and Luna are as acutely perceptive as usual, and Andy makes a remark that incties Ginny's curiosity. No Herpo in this one, but what it lacks in magical kitten it makes up for in drama . . .

Back in action, Harry settles down enough to listen to Gertrude, Ginny goes to Hogsmeade with Theo, Harry clearly does not like it, Ginny casts a Patronus, Gryffindor plays Hufflepuff, and Ginny fields a very interesting offer . . . Herpo, Devon, and the Kernel all make appearances.

Gryffindor plays Ravenclaw in the Quidditch Final, lots of fun people show up to watch Stevie play, Harry and Theo get detention, Devon surprises Ginny, Ginny makes a decision, and Professor Wrightman shows more emotion in one chapter than she has in her entire life.
