Letter to Ginny, Revisited

A seventeen-year-old Harry Potter writes a poignant farewell letter to the girl he loves yet has to leave behind to go fight the forces of Darkness. He promises to do everything he can to come back to her ... and he does. It just takes ten years for him to do so--and in that time, Ginny's life has undergone many changes.

Ten years have passed; Ginny is 26 years old, married and a mother of a 9-year-old daughter named Lily. Everyone but the child knows she belongs to Harry. Her husband is very much like Harry as Ginny remembers him. In June of that year, Harry, now 27 years old, turns up on her doorstep to renew acquaintances ... among other things.

Harry and Ginny begin a clandestine affair behind her husband's (and their daughter's) backs; Ginny introduces Harry to the child; Ginny's husband suspects that she is seeing someone but cannot say who--and takes steps to find out.

Ginny and her first husband dissolve their marriage while she and Harry make plans for their own and their daughter confesses her knowledge of his paternity and Ginny's new pregnancy. Harry and Ginny also confess their affair to Molly and Arthur, and Harry proposes to Ginny in their presence.

Harry and Ginny's wedding day, and where they go on their honeymoon ... a place he doesn't even tell her about, at least not until they get there.

Harry and Ginny take their daughter to be tested for Legilimency and are stunned by the results even as they wait for her to awaken, then take her for a meal. Four months afterward, Ginny gives birth for the second time--a son--and the scene is observed by three ghostly visitors...Harry's parents and Sirius.
