~Chapter 1, The Dream~
"Checkmate, I win!" Ron exclaimed as he made his final move to beat Harry in wizards' chess, "Want to play again?"
It was mid January and the grounds of Hogwarts was completely covered in snow. Everyone in Gryffindor was all in the common room recovering from the very "intense" snowball they had that afternoon.
Although the common room was very crowded it had a very cozy and warm feeling. Ron and Harry were playing chess, while Hermione was reading, Ginny was scribbling something in her new "evil free" enchanted diary, Fred George and Lee Jordan were playing exploding snap, Lavender and Parvati were whispering madly while giggling while doing each others hair, the rest of the common room was either talking or finishing their homework. It was a time that Harry loved the most the weekend when it was snowing.
Harry then realized Ron's question and came to his senses and heard Ginny say something.
Ginny smiled, "Again? I think Harry's had enough of a beating!"
Ginny always managed to glow when she was happy in a way Harry had never seen. Harry looked at Ginny and thought, She changed so much over the terms at school--she's gotten prettier and she's more outgoing than before.
Harry and Ron had been playing chess for about an hour and as usual Ron beat Harry every time, although Harry was getting better.
"Yeah Ginny's right, six times in a row you've beat me, I think I'll call it a night," Harry replied with a yawn.
"That's all right I haven't finished my Charms homework yet," Ron said, with a frown, "I have to add two more inches and I am done, or maybe four inch--."
Hermione cut in looking up from her book in the armchair near the fire, "Honestly Ron, won't you ever learn to finish your homework on time? We have had a whole week to finish it!" She rolled her eyes. "I finished mine the first day!"
Ginny and Harry looked at each other both trying to say "Not Again!"
Harry chuckled at Hermione; it was the usual conversation between Ron and Hermione. Ron didn't finish his homework and Hermione was scolding him.
Harry got up and yawned knowing that this argument would end in thirty seconds or so. Just a month ago Ron and Hermione had officially became a "couple." When Harry found out that another Yule Ball was coming around he convinced Ron to ask Hermione to the ball. After many mess-ups and days of teasing from Fred and George Ron asked Hermione to the ball. It turned out that Hermione actually liked Ron too and the rest was all history.
Before Harry could stand up he heard from Hermione, "I'm sorry Ron I just wish you'd focus more on schoolwork."
"In other words be a little more like you," Ron said mischievously Hermione was about to say something in her defense but Ron then gave her a peck on the cheek and said, "I was joking. I actually think I'll start my Charms Homework now." Hermione smiled.
Harry thought, "They're both happy as usual, perfect timing."
He then got up and started walking upstairs and announced to them, "Good Night, I am officially going to bed."
As if everyone planned it the whole common room exclaimed in a sort of singsong voice, "Good Night!"
Harry looked at them as if they were all mad and thought about what they had all said and just shook is head and walked up the stairs. As he got to his dormitory is immediately got changed and went to sleep because the truth was that he was actually tired. Harry soon fell into a deep sleep and suddenly had a dream:
He was running in a forest--he new it was defiantly a forest, then he saw it was the Forbidden Forest--and was looking something no not a something a someone. Nothing at all mattered to him all he had to do was find that person. His heart was pumping and his arm was pushing away any branches that were in his way.
He suddenly halted and he saw a person and it was beautiful girl dressed in white dancing. He knew she was the one he was looking for.
She looked like the fairies in the books Harry had seen in Dudley's room when he was four. She was wearing a long white gown with that had sleeves that were long looking almost like it was from the Middle Ages. On her head was a tiara of flowers. Her hair was flowing down on her shoulders and her skin was fair. He tried to look at her face but he couldn't see it no matter how hard he tried. Her face just never came into view.
She suddenly turned and gave a smile and reached her hand to him. He finally saw her face. It looked familiar but he still couldn't make out who's face it was. He took her hand and she pulled him thru the forest. They kept running, he didn't think that it could be dangerous or he could get caught. Running with her just felt right.
They finally got out of the forest in front of them there was the lake. Harry knew it was the lake at Hogwarts. She ran then jumped into it and Harry laughed then did the same. He floated up and starting to look for her. He then saw that she had swam across the lake. She called to have him come swim to her. He tried but he couldn't move he heard her saying Wake Up! Its time!! Oi! Wake Up!!
Harry opened his eyes and saw red lots and lots of red. Then he reached for his glasses and saw Ron shaking him. Harry sat up quickly wide eyed.
Ron said in amazement, " You were laughing in your sleep!"
"I was?" Harry said in awe.
"Yeah anyway its time for breakfast anyway. I'll be down in the Great Hall, Hermione's already there."
"I'll be down," said Harry as he scrunched up is eyebrows and thought about his dream.
He knew that girl from somewhere it was almost on the tip of his tongue.
Oh well, he thought as he got dressed, it'll come to me sooner or later. He then walked down stairs to the great hall.
