CHAPTER 7 - THE REST OF THE SUMMER HOLIDAY

It was the middle of the night as Harry bolted up from his nightmare. He had the very similar dreams about Hogwarts. Each being more detailed as the last. This time, Harry was drenched with sweat everywhere on his forehead. Except for, his scar. His scar was aching with pain. Wait. More than that. He felt like he could just scream! The only thing that stopped him, was Ron sitting in his bed. Probably dreaming sweet dreams.

"Lucky him," mumbled Harry, "He will probably never have the slightest idea of how bad my dreams can get."

However, Harry did not know how Ron's brain was working that night. He was having a dream of where Voldemort(you-know-who as Ron would say,) killed Harry, and was right about to kill Hermione. Ron was the savior! He was just about to save Hermione, his true love, when suddenly he bolted up from his dream. Just like Harry did.

"Are you okay, Ron?" asked Harry.

"Oh. You're awake! I had a bad dream," explained Ron.

"So did I. It was just the same as usual. Memories of Hogwarts. I've got to tell you, Ron. Each time I have that dream it gets more and more detailed," exclaimed Harry quickly, "What was your dream about, anyways?"

"It was about you-know-who," said Ron.

"Go on,"

"Well, you-know-who killed well, you. And then I was about to kill him, when, when... I woke up!" stuttered Ron.

"Good for you," congratulated Harry.

"What do you mean, good for me?"

"I mean that you were just about to kill he-who-must-not-be-named! That's good for you."

"Yeah, but I think that you should be worried for your part. I mean that you got - got - killed!"

"Yeah, well that happens sometimes. In dreams I mean."

That night Harry and Ron could not get back to sleep. No matter how much they tried, they just couldn't. Instead, they stayed up the rest of the night talking about Chudley Canons, this years Quidditch, and 'Snuffles'.

2 weeks passed as Harry stayed at the burrow. Each morning he would wake up to the sweet smell of bacon and eggs. Well, of course this would be followed by an explosion and smoke coming out of Fred and George's room.

"Fred! George! None of that this early in the morning!" Mrs. Weasley would say.

"Yes, mother!" followed by another explosion.

Ron, Ginny, and everyone except for Harry, Fred and George wondered how the twins got their big load of (as Muggles would call it,) cash. Of course, like they promised. They wouldn't tell.

The last morning of their summer holiday, Harry walked into the kitchen. At first he thought that he was imagining things. He blinks three times, and rubbed his eyes. There was a dog on the table.

"Snuffles, is that you?" he wondered aloud.

*Woof!*

I guess that's a yes. He thought.

"What are you doing here?" Harry asked as Sirius jumped off the table and onto the cold stone floor, "Wait. You can't answer that you're a dog."

"Who are you talking to?" asked Ginny walking into the room and picking up a piece of toast.

"Oh. I'm just, um. Er-" stuttered Harry.

"You don't have to explain. Do you talk dog too?"

"Dog?"

"Well, you're talking to a dog."

"Oh. Yeah. I just found him outside, and I brought him inside to er-- feed him. Yeah," stuttered Harry again.

"Okay. Changing the subject, where's Ron?"

"Oh, he's still getting dressed, and up."

Ginny forced out a laugh.

"Good morning everyone!" said Ron walking in and grabbing a slice of bacon.

"Ow! That's hot!" he screamed as he dropped the bacon.

"Duh! It's freshly made," said Ginny matter-of-factly.

"Oh, shut up, Gin. Ah! That startled me. Is that-"

"A dog. Just a dog." Harry winked at Ron.

"Ohh! A stray *wink* dog." Ron lied.

"What's all the winking about?" Ginny asked suspiciously.

"Oh, nothing," Ron chuckled.

"Whatever," Ginny answered still curious of what it really was.

Percy walked into the kitchen with his face peculiarly happy.

"What's with you?" Ron asked.

"Oh, nothing. I just have a feeling that I might get a promotion today. And also, you and Gin are going to Hogwarts today," Percy grinned.

"Oh, so you're not gonna miss us?"

"Oh, Ron. Don't be so glum. I'll miss you. In your own special way."

"Ron! Ginny! Harry!" yelled Molly walking into the room.

"Yes, mom?" questioned Ginny.

"I want you to gather up all you're stuff and bring it by the front do- What on earth is a stray dog doing in the kitchen. As a matter of fact, why is it in the burrow at all?" asked Mrs. Weasley surprised with the dog in her kitchen.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Weasley. I just saw it outside and thought that I could bring it in to feed it. I'll let it outside now. I'm sorry," explained Harry with his head drooped to the floor.

"Oh, Harry. It's okay."

Harry brought Snuffles to the front door and said, "You better make your way to Hogwarts. Bark once if you can. Bark twice if you can't and I need to bring you on the Hogwart's express."

*Bark*

*Bark*

"Good. Off you go, then."

Snuffles just stayed there, staring deep into Harry's emerald green eyes. You look so much like your dad. I wish I could tell you that I need a ride. But I can't change here!

"Do you need a ride?" asked Harry bending down and scratching the dog behind his ears.

Snuffles barked once excitedly.

"I'll have to sneak you in."

~*~*~*~*~*~

"Harry! Come on!" yelled Ron as he stumbled over Harry's trunk which he brought into the kitchen for him.

"Coming!"

Harry ran into the house and smiled at Ron.

"Snuffles is ready. I put him in the car. Your parents won't find out." Harry whispered in Ron's ear.

"Okay."

"We're going now!" Mr. Weasley yelled as he set his Daily Prophet down on his desk. The headlines were:

Harry Potter Returns to Hogwarts

Harry Potter, the boy who lived returns to his school, Hogwarts today. Along with his two friends, Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, Harry will be dreading leaving his muggle home.

Quote: "I will miss my cousin, Dudley Dursley the most. I just wish he could come too."

He wasn't available for another interview on the account that his robes were drenched with tears.

- Rita Skeeter.

"What's this?" asked Harry as he picked up the article. He quickly read the story on him, and decided to snatch it.

"Mr. Weasley won't notice it's gone. I'm sure of it." Harry stated.

He quickly left and ran out the door, to the Weasley car before anyone noticed he was in that room.
