- Author's Note:
- OK, this is my first shot at a Riddikulus fic! I would like to dedicate this story to the following people: to my best mate Jas(Tonka), who has helped me through everything and is a constant inspriation for everything, including very stupid things. I forgive you about the sandwich. To Dave the Laugh (Jack), for just being the best friend I could have during most times, and for being my only connection to my "old world". You have given me so much, including phone conversations that start me laughing as soon as you say something that means the same as "Hello", but is totally different in it's own Jack-ish sort of way. And, last, but not least, to Fenn, for just........being Fenn. It's good to know some thing will never change.
It was a cold, dreary, and rainy day. The kind of day that you assume Snape was born on. The kind of day where you just want to stay warm in your bed and never get up.
Harry Potter was wishing this right now as he sat in Divination class, listening to the old bat Professor Trelawney ramble on about something that most likely was another way of predicting that he was going to die. However, had he been paying attention to his teacher, he would have found that it wasn't something new, but a review on a very familiar subject.
"The sky, my dears!" said the old woman. "The sky contains all the answers of our future! Everything in our lives has been predicted, and the sky is constantly giving us hints! We have to look for them! So, that is why tonight, you are to predict your lives for the next two months, which is something I know you all are quite good at," she said, eyeing Harry and Ron. Inside his mind, Harry groaned. He and Ron had run out of ideas for their charts. The class stood up to leave, and Harry and Ron gathered their bags. They met up with Hermione on the 6th floor, and retraced their steps to Gryffindor Tower. Once there, Ron flung his bag onto a large, shiny wooden table and moaned.
"Does she enjoy giving us tons of homework?" he said as he took out Unfogging the Future.
"She's a teacher, what teacher doesn't," said Harry. "Are you really going to do the chart by hand?"
"What else can I do? We've run out of ideas! Unless you think getting hit on the head with a broomstick by Hermione is life threatening, I don't know what else to do!"
"I guess you're right," sighed Harry, as the two began to work.

Several hours later, the fire had dimmed, the candles almost all burned out, and nearly everyone gone up to bed. Harry and Ron were still working on their homework.
"I've finished!" shouted Ron, standing up and pushing his chair back.
"You did? Come on; let me have a peak," said Harry.
"No way José! I've finally finished - " he took a glance at his chart and his face fell. "The first week." He fell back into his chair.
"I quit. It's too late, and besides, we don't have Divination again till Monday. We can work o it over the weekend," said Harry, getting up and stretching. Ron eagerly jumped up and, leaving their stuff exactly the way it was, headed up to bed.

Hours later, all five Gryffindor boys were sleeping soundly. So soundly in fact, that they never even noticed the person who suddenly appeared in the room. He walked slowly around the room, observing each of the boys. He noticed Neville shivering and uncovered, and picked up his blankets off the floor. He saw an alarming large pile of drool coming out of Dean's mouth, and heard Seamus muttering something about a hot tub and someone called Nancy in his sleep. He passed Harry, who had been so tired from working that he had fallen asleep with his glasses on, which the stranger removed and placed on the bedside table. He reached Ron, who was asleep on his back, with the moonlight cast upon his face.
"Moonlight shines from westward," the man said quietly. "Onto the face and shines upon the sign from the sacred place." The man cast a glance on the scar Harry had given Ron the year before from the S.P.E.W. badge and sighed. "This is it. The new recruit." The man turned on his heel and left the room. The boys continued to sleep soundly. Had someone been awake and paying close attention however, they would have noticed something. Only four boys were sleeping. That was because only four boys were in the room.

Coming Up Next- OK, I think we all know who's missing. So where is Ron? Who was that man? What's everyone's reaction going to be when they find out? And will Ron's chart ever be completed? All these questions (except for possibly the last one) and more answered in the next chapter, so stay tuned!
