Chapter 1: Harry's Confusion

It was finally summer, and for the first time ever Harry was actually looking forward to it. Things between him and his family were a lot less hectic than they had been. While they still had no great affection for Harry, an understanding had been reached last year; they would leave him alone, and he, pretty much, would not tell everyone they knew that his Aunt Petunia was a Squib. It had been revealed to him by Dumbledore during his fifth year at Hogwarts. While he had been shocked at first, it definitely made sense. That great man had explained that that was why Harry had been able to see deceased relatives on his mother's side of the family in the Mirror of Erised during his first year at school. His aunt had been very bitter over the fact that in a long line of wizards and witches, she was the first Squib in 300 years. So, when she had met Vernon, she had to pretend that she was horrified with the whole thing, and ashamed of her family. She had desperately been in love with him, and knew he did not hold with such nonsense. And because he still had no clue, she had managed to persuade Vernon to just allow Harry to disappear during the summer, under the pretext of not having to see him at all. But Harry knew the real reason.

This summer he was ecstatic because when they would reach 9 ¾, he would be going directly with the Weasleys to the Burrow. Hermione would be joining them in August. He and Ron were bubbling over with excitement about what they would do all summer. The week before Harry's birthday, there was a planned trip to the seaside that everyone was looking forward to, the promise of lazy days, Quidditch games in the pasture(with plenty of strategy going on owing to Ron's being made Captain just this previous year), and lots of daydreaming.

Ahhh......daydreaming......the one thing lately that had Harry wrapped in knots. The past year had definitely been a busy one. Harry had been shyly approached one day at the beginning of the school year by Ginny Weasley in the halls between classes with the request for tutoring. She was having a hard time with Defense Against the Dark Arts, and knowing Harry would know more than most people(defintely!), she had asked for his help. He had been a little surprised, owing to the fact that most of the time she couldn't seem to string two words together whenever she was around him. Although a little put off at first( because of the not-so-secret crush she'd had on him since she had been 11), he supposed that it wouldn't hurt anything, and agreed. At first, things had been a little strained, until she asked him his opinion on the first opening Quidditch match coming up. Ginny was starting the team, having been selected at tryouts for Chaser. From that moment on, things had smoothed out, and they had become great friends. He confided in her the way, up 'til now, that he only confided in Ron and Hermione. She knew all his secrets, fears, hopes for the future, and even about his brief crush on Cho Chang. They both realized that normally they were reserved people, LOVED Quidditch, shared a love of spring rain, their favorite wizarding candy was Bertie Botts' Every Flavor Beans, many things.

But it was during the development of their friendship, that Harry began to notice interesting things about Ginny. How when she was thinking about something real hard her nose would scrunch up just slightly, the way her eyes were like dark chocolate; shining brightly with laughter, flashing with flames in anger, and woebegone when distressed, the way the light would play on her beautiful hair; firey and exciting. They were sitting in the Common Room one night when he first noticed how sexy it is when a girl crosses her legs just so. The revealing of trim ankles for some reason was beautific sight, that caused him to drool. ( and how embarrising that was !) But Harry was also terrified about all of these new emotions. He didn't know how Ron would react, or much less how he actually FELT about Ginny. He was going to start his last year at Hogwarts in the fall, and so many things could happen. There was You-Know-Who to worry about, if he would finally attack Harry, and would Ginny be pulled into the middle of it because of him. But the real question was, "How can you tell when you really love a woman?" And when, and how do you tell her?

"Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?"

To really love a woman

To understand her - you gotta know her deep inside

Hear every thought - see every dream

And give her wings when she wants to fly

Then when you find yourself lying helpless in her arms

You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman you tell her that she's really wanted

When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one

'Cause she needs somebody to tell her that it's gonna last forever

So tell me have you ever really - really really ever loved a woman?

To really love a woman

Let her hold you - 'til you know how she needs to be touched

You've gotta breathe her - really taste her

'Til you can feel her in your blood

And when you can see your unborn children in her eyes

You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman you tell her that she's really wanted

When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one

'Cause she needs somebody to tell her that it's gonna last forever

So tell me have ever really - really really ever loved a woman?

You got to give her some faith - hold her tight

A little tenderness - gotta treat her right

She will be there for you, taking good care of you

You really gotta love your woman....
