"Gin, hurry up dear, or we'll be late!" Percy had just received his Hogwarts letter last week, and the whole family was going to buy school supplies. Ginny, who was only three, did not want to go. She had just got a toy broom from her friend Sammie, and she had been waiting to play with it all week.

"Mommy, I don't wanna go!"

"We'll buy you some ice cream if you go! Cherry Vanilla!" Bill cried.

"Ice cream? Yay!" Ginny's mood was instantly turned around by the creamy cold goodness of ice cream, and she hopped in the green flames with her mom just in time.

After the whirling and tossing and turning had ceased, Ginny was with her family in Diagon Alley. She grabbed her mom's hand, and together, the Weasley clan strode into many a store. Ginny, who had been waiting patiently for ice cream through Flourish and Blotts, not so patiently through the Potions supply store, and even less patiently through the Astronomy store, was getting really mad.

"Mommy, I want ice cream NOW!" Ginny yelled.

"Ginny, do not make such a fuss. You will get your ice cream soon." But little Ginny was fed up, exhausted, and ready for ice cream. She pulled Ron, who was four, away from the adults.

"Ronnie, where's ice cream?"

"Ice cream store."

"Where's ice cream store?"

"Over there!" Ron pointed to Florean Fortescue's place, right across the street, which was coincidentally next to the entrance to Knockturn Alley.

"You want ice cream Ronnie?"

"I want to come!"

"Okay." Ginny ran ahead of Ron, who trailed behind slowly. Right as he looked up, he saw Ginny run down the entrance to Knockturn Alley instead.

"Ginny, NO! Ice cream's over there!" He pointed again to the ice cream store, but she was already gone. Ron shrugged, and went into the ice cream store anyway. Ginny, however, was having issues of her own.

"Come here little one, and have some treats!" A weird old lady held a tray of nasty entrails out towards Ginny, who proceeded to run straight into a gigantic man.

"Watch your step, kid," he growled. Soon, strange characters of all sorts surrounded Ginny. She cowered in fright, but luckily, a hand pulled her into a dark corner. Ginny looked at the body attached to the hand, and yelped.

It was a little girl, maybe a year or two older than her. The irises of her eyes were stark white, and so was her skin. Her hair was pitch black mixed with shiny bright blue, and strange tattoos covered her arms and hands. She looked like a homeless girl, haunted, and alone.

"Take this and go!" the girl cried. She thrust a small, rocklike thing into Ginny's hand, and suddenly, it was over.

Ginny was back in Diagon Alley. She was perfectly okay, and all that remained of that weird place was the rock that the strange girl had given her. She uncurled her fingers and took a look at it.

It was shaped like a star, only it had seven points. It was a dark black, shiny mineral, maybe like onyx or something. Set in the middle was a blood red stone that was perfectly rounded and shone in the sun in a very strange way, as if it had powers one could never imagine. It held magic that no three year old or even three hundred year old would know exactly what to do with. And it was certainly not the type of power that you would expect to fall into the hands of an innocent toddler.

"Ginny! We've been worried sick!" Molly Weasley and the rest of the kids stomped over, except for Ron, who was being dragged magically by Bill. His arms were folded and he was very mad at something, or someone.

"I am so happy you are alright!" Ginny received a big hug, and she was careful to hide the rock in her jacket pocket so her mother would not see it.

"Let's go home Ginny dear. This one..." she pointed to Ron"...will be punished for letting you roam on your own. The family left Diagon Alley immediately.

Ginny never got her ice cream.

As she returned home, Ginny was sent straight up to her room, which at the time was shared with Ron for, hem hem, economic purposes. She took the rock out of her pocket and opened her creaky wardrobe. She slipped it inside a box, and placed the box gently inside the wardrobe's corner. She took a wand from the nightstand and tapped the box, which sealed the rock inside for the next fourteen years. Until it would be discovered again...
