Chapter Three-The First Kiss

That day, and night, was the only eventful day that week. All the Despisers couldn't wait until the day of the first meeting started, and, luckily, it came quick.

Lynn was the first to speak. "Okay, everyone here? Good. Today, we're going to discuss the plan to humiliate the Marauders, and get them good. Well, at least one of them. Any suggestions?"

The meeting was held in an empty classroom, since the library was too full of students studying for the O.W.L.s and the N.E.W.T.s. The classroom wasn't big, but it didn't matter, there wasn't that many people in the meeting.

Jules stood up. Always count on Jules to have a plan. "Yes, I know exactly what will be good enough. It won't take many people to go through with it, and it won't take that long."

Everyone broke into whispers.

"I propose," Jules continued, "that we hit James, and we hit him hard."

"Why James?" Sev asked.

"Because, he's the only one that I know of those four that a plan would work perfectly for." As she said this, she looked at Lily, an evil smile plastered on her face. "We all know that James has a thing for Lily, and so..."

"What?" Mac jumped up. "Don't tell me you want to...to..."

"That's what it sounds like," Velma Rick, a Ravenclaw, whispered to Bernardo Rife, a Slytherin, who nodded in return.

"Explain it, Jules," Lynn said.

"Well," Jules looked over everyone in the classroom. There didn't seem to be any more than fifteen in there, most of them seventh years. "Lily should go out with Potter...Quiet! Let me finish...after about a week or two of taking his crap, she breaks up with him, in the most humiliating, most unforgettable way. Like your new nickname for him, Lynn. That was awesome what you did the first day of school."

Everyone clapped.

"Why do I have to?" Lily whined. She didn't want to even if her life depended on it.

"Think of what you'd be accomplishing!" Maggie spoke up, which was quite rare. "He would be so humiliated that he wouldn't even be able to do or say anything with a reminder of you dumping him. Think of it!"

Lily was thinking, that was the problem. Thinking that it most definitely wouldn't work. "What if he doesn't want to go out with me? He'll have to suspect something was behind it, because of my sudden change in liking him."

"He won't," Maggie said.

"He's too much living in his own world of Lily to realize that there was a change," Velma said.

Lily smiled, considering that what Velma just said was true. He wouldn't realize. She nodded her head, agreeing to go with it.

"Now," she said, standing up and facing Jules. "How am I supposed to dump him?"

"We'll be working on that, you just worry about asking James out and taking his crap without exploding."

"Wait..." Lily's eyes grew three times the original size. "What if he tries to kiss me?"

The room fell silent.

---

These are the moments worth living for, Lynn thought. Just her, Sev, and the lake, sitting still, reflecting everything like a mirror.

The moon was high, a half moon. It was so bright that one didn't need a lantern or lumos to light the way.

Lynn walked next to Sev, her hand entertwined with his. She lay her head on his shoulder, and closed her eyes as they stopped and looked out to the lake.

Tonight was their fifth anniversary, and thank goodness it was magical. Actually, every first Saturday of the new school year was like this. Lynn couldn't think of a night that it wasn't perfect when it was just she and Sev.

Sev retreated his hand, and backed away from Lynn. She looked at him, puzzled. He smiled sheepishly at her, and drew her into a hug.

He swung her around, they both laughed, who could ask for any other perfect moment?

"Lynn..." Sev said as he settled her down and looked into her eyes. They were full of love and compassion. He looked back in the same way. They both smiled, and were caught in the moment, not ever wanting it to end.

They stood there, staring at each other, until they knew what they wanted. It just felt so right, and so perfect, not even a small kiss could ruin it.

They got closer to each other, and their lips touched. But, instead of it being a small kiss, it was much deeper, much more intimate. They both surrendered their mouths to one another, and didn't seize.

As if it was like a movie of some sort, the wind picked up and swirled around them, Lynn's hair blowing upward.

She locked her arms around his neck, and Sev caressed her back.

Neither of them did this before, but it felt so right, so perfect. This was how they wanted their first kiss to be like, not too hard, not too soft, and not too awkward either.

Little did they know, someone was watching them, someone with sadness in their eyes. Can you guess? Yes, it was Sirius Black. How many times that night did he curse this window to be right next to his bed?

All thoughts were gone when he saw them kissing.

James walked in, not noticed by Sirius. So, he walked to his friend, and looked outside to see what was bothering him so.

"Who is that?" he asked.

"Lynn and Snivellus," Sirius answered, choking out Sev's name as if it were vomit.

"Want to ruin their little, 'moment'?" James offered. "I still remember that one spell that makes it feel like hell. Oh, do you remember it?"

"I can't remember anything at the moment," Sirius said, obviously dismissing James, who didn't seem to notice.

"So, do you wanna ruin it?" Jams asked impatiently.

"No," Sirius said, full of anger. He loved Lynn. He didn't kill Snivellus because of Lynn. Hell, he even took the blame of attacking that greasy git, FOR LYNN. He didn't want to ruin their moment, for Lynn. He even imagined that he, himself, was down there, hexing Snape, and kissing Lynn. He smiled as he thought about this.

James got the wrong idea when Sirius smiled. "Oh, so now you like to watch make-out sessions, do ya?"

Sirius turned and looked at James, still smiling. "Shut up, before you hurt yourself." He laid down on his bed.

James walked to the window and watched the two depart and fall into each other's arms. He wasn't sure, but he could've sworn he heard laughter coming from the two. And the Gryffindor tower was high up. He then watched as they disappeared back into the castle.

"What's wrong Sirius?" James asked, sitting on his friend's bed. "You're acting rather strange lately. And I've noticed that it's always around Miller. You see something in her that I don't?"

Sirius laughed. "I'd never thought I'd live to see the day when I say this to you." He sat up as well and looked out the window at the moon. "Remember when she got pushed into the lake in first year? Well, I think that's when she started to date Snivellus. That's, I know for sure, was the day that I hated him. Well, I...well, over the years...I've grown to...you see..."

"Do you like Lynn?" James asked, sounding insulted.

"Damn it, Prongs! You haven't figured it out by now? The other two have!" He yelled. "Yes! I like her! No, wait...I love her! Ever since first year! All the girls I've been with, none of them. I never really wanted to be with any of them, just Lynn." He calmed down and laid on his back again. "I'm sorry. I know that she's like, your enemy, like Snivellus is to me, but...I can't help it."

James stared at him disbelievingly. "Did I just hear right? Do you have a heart for someone?"

"I'd think you'd be more believing than that. Hey, you like Evans, and she hates you. You know exactly how I feel."

"You're right, I do, sort of. Padfoot, you liked Miller since first year, and I liked Evans since second. I've been attached to Evans ever since, and you have been attached to Miller ever since." He then smiled evilly. "I have a plan."

---

"Lynn...that was, amazing..."

"Wasn't it though? I'm so glad tonight came at last. I only wish it could last forever."

The two smiled at each other and embraced.

Sev looked at the sky, and saw that the sun was already creeping up behind the hills. "I only hope we do this again, don't you?"

"Always, always."

They kissed again, only not so much intimate and long. They parted at the Entrance Hall, each going their separate ways, and off to sleep the day away, dreaming of the kiss they shared that night.

Lynn smiled to herself as she laid her head down to rest on her pillow. She couldn't wait to see Sev the next...or should we say...later that day. She truly loved him, and she believed that he truly loved her back.
