The Most Powerful Magic of All
Forum_of_Knowledge
- Story Summary:
- What if Harry Potter had a twin sister, Jamy Potter? And what if Jamy was the famous one? The one with the scar? What if Neville Longbottom was really Lucas Camden? What if Sirius had a son and Remus had a daughter? What if Lily was American, the Dursleys didn’t exist, and Lily had two sisters – twins? This is a complete AU about the life of Jamy Potter, her brother Harry, and their friends at Hogwarts. Because of the different characters some different things happen in addition to everything that happens according to the books. ~

MEETING THE GANG
Jamy and Harry sat together at the breakfast table the next morning finishing their eggs and bacon when their aunt came in already dressed for work. Aunt Nicole was a doctor - a surgeon to be exact. She'd graduated with honors from Harvard medical school and now had a good job at the local hospital in Miami. She had been Lily's younger sister and it had fallen to her to look after Jamy and Harry when Lily and James had been killed. With her long, dark hair and bright blue eyes, she was really quite a beautiful woman and her five foot nine height only enhanced that beauty.
Their uncle, on the other hand, was almost completely opposite of her, yet they were totally nuts about each other. Chad Moore was a tall man, fairly muscular, and with his short black hair and dark green eyes, he was every bit as handsome as Aunt Nicole was beautiful. That was where the similarities ended. Uncle Chad was a writer. He wrote children's books and had become quite famous in the field as a result of his enormous talent. He and Aunt Nicole had met when she had been the surgeon responsible for him when he had surgery on his heart from a chronic heart condition.
Aunt Nicole spoke to them now as she prepared to leave the house.
"Okay, I have to go but Jamy's going to stay with you okay?"
"Is Uncle Chad here?" Jamy asked.
"Yes, but he's working on his new book and he says that he doesn't want to be disturbed so stay away from the studio today, okay?" she replied.
"Okay," Jamy answered.
"Oh, and just so you know Taylor and Dane said they're going to hang out with their friends, and Devon has basketball practice all summer so they're going to be gone too."
"Okay," Harry said. Taylor and Dane were identical twins. They were Jamy and Harry's sixteen-year-old cousins. All Jamy and Harry had seen of them lately was the back end of the car as they pulled out of the driveway to go God-knows-where to do God-knows-what. Devon was fourteen and obsessed with basketball. He was hoping to make the team this year and had taken to practicing with the other possible recruits every week this summer.
"Also," Aunt Nicole started, "Marina's going to come by with Orion later so I'm sure you'll find plenty of mischief to get up to today," She smiled and left. Harry and Jamy finished their breakfast and went upstairs looking for Jay. Jay was fifteen and kept himself to himself mostly. Perhaps it was because he didn't have many friends - well, not in the Muggle world anyway. Despite the fact that he was Muggle-born, Jay had been accepted to Hogwarts when he was eleven. He was actually also accepted to the American Academy of Magic but had decided to go to Hogwarts in the end. He would be starting his fifth year this year.
Jamy and Harry found Jay in his room writing a letter to his girlfriend, a witch by the name of Marielle.
"Hey Jay!" Jamy grinned. "You're stuck with us today!"
"Great, just bring Lucas and Orion over and I can get blamed for whatever trouble you fabulous four get up to!" he said jokingly. Harry laughed.
"You know, Dipstick's downstairs if you're looking for her," Harry said, jerking his thumb in the direction of the stairs behind him. Jay had just started looking around his room as though he didn't recognize it and was trying to figure out where he was. He laughed at Harry's words and led the way downstairs where they found the owl perched on the back of a chair.
Just as Jay was tying his letter to the owl's leg, another owl, this one brown, swooped through the open window. The owl dropped two identical envelopes on the table and swooped back out. Jay smiled as Dipstick followed the brown owl out of the window.
"Your Hogwarts letters, I presume," he said, grinning. Jamy and Harry grabbed the letters and read the addresses on them. Then ripping them open eagerly, they read the letters inside. They both said the same thing. They had been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Getting thoroughly overexcited, Jamy began bouncing all over the kitchen, shouting with glee, even getting Harry to bounce a bit with her. It all culminated in complete and utter chaos when, Lucas, panting and out of breath, skidded through the front door, brandishing his own letter like a sword, and finally crashing into both Jamy and Harry who were still bouncing, and falling to the floor in a spectacular tangle of limbs, and taking Jay down with them. They all started laughing when they realized what had happened.
"What on earth is going on here?" Uncle Chad had arrived.
"Sorry, Dad. Did we disturb you?" Jay asked extracting his own limbs from the tangled heap on the floor and gingerly picking himself up. Uncle Chad nodded, smiling slightly at the scene before him.
"We got accepted to Hogwarts!" Harry said gleefully, showing him the letter.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Uncle Chad went to answer it. He returned with Marina and Orion in tow.
"Did you get it? Did you get it?" Orion said, by way of greeting.
"Hello to you too," Jamy said, pretending to be mad.
"Sorry," Orion replied impatiently. "Did you get it?" Jamy showed him her letter.
"Yeah!" Orion yelled jubilantly, punching the air with his fist. Marina had been talking to Uncle Chad. She was Orion's mother. She was a fully trained witch but had been Muggle-born and frequently visited the Muggle world. Lucas, who had now joined the kids, had been living with his Muggle grandmother ever since his parents had been admitted to St. Mungo's when he was a baby. The four children had grown up together and were the best of friends.
"Okay, since you lot obviously have a lot of pent-up energy, I'll take you guys for ice-cream and let Chad get back to work." Marina said above the noise. There was a collective cheer and as Uncle Chad disappeared back into his studio, Marina ushered the four children out of the door, all talking exuberantly about what flavor ice-cream they wanted and what they were going to do first when they got to Hogwarts - which, oddly enough, had nothing whatsoever to do with lessons!
