Strange Relationships

Chapter 3

~ The Revelation ~

When Hermione entered the Common Room, it was fairly full. It seemed that the students were taking advantage of not having any school the next day to catch up on the week's events judging by the excited chatter around her. She located Harry and Ron almost instantly, sitting in their usual chairs by the fire, talking, though not seriously. Hermione gave Ron a quick kiss on the cheek before flopping into her seat beside them, smiling.

"Hello."

Harry and Ron looked up.

"Hello. What are you so happy about?" Harry seemed rather intrigued by her happiness; Ron obviously thought it was his mere presence.

"You'll never guess who I just caught snogging." She grinned wickedly, and the boys looked suddenly a lot more interested.

"Who?" They chorused, their eyes wide.

"Pansy Parkinson and..."

Harry interrupted. "Malfoy. That's not exciting. Seriously, tell us something exciting."

She crossed her arms impatiently. "Let me finish. Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini." She smirked.

Ron shrugged his shoulders. "Yeah? Oh well, its not like Malfoy will find out anyway."

Hermione shook her head. "Would you let me finish? Anyway, I was on my way back here, when I went past the Charms classroom, and there was a light on. I figured it was some student, and when I opened the door, Malfoy was in there."

Harry suddenly became interested again. "What was he doing?"

Hermione shrugged. "Dunno, reading or something. Anyway, then I happened to just let it slip to him what I had seen. Seemed a little mad, stormed off to find Pansy." She laughed, and both the boys grinned.

"That'll teach Malfoy." Harry clapped his hands triumphantly.

Ron was grinning. "Wicked. But it's not like Malfoy will really care. You know what he's like."

Hermione looked at him. "Duh Ron, they're dating. As if he won't care." She rolled her eyes.

"Well everyone snogs everyone at Hogwarts, no one ever seems to worry about it." Ron shrugged his shoulders, seeming not to care.

Hermione shook her head. "What? Usually when you're dating someone, it means you stick to him or her, instead of just snogging everyone you meet. Are you trying to tell me something Ron?" Her sharp jumped from one conclusion to another as per usual.

Harry looked between them and grabbed his books. "Time for bed. Bye." He knew a fight was about to explode, and didn't want to be caught in the battlefield. Both Hermione and Ron ignored him.

"Of course I'm not Hermione. Do you really think I would do that to you?" His voice was slightly shaky though.

"Well I certainly hope not Ron. I'm going to bed too." She wasn't sure how much more she wanted to hear of this conversation, so she made a hasty exit for her dormitory, saddened by the fact Ron didn't even try and stop her. As she changed, the night's events kept running through her mind. What Pansy had said, how Ron had reacted...what if he really was cheating on her? Then the thought of Malfoy...As she gazed out the window, she wondered where he was, and what he was doing right now.
