After Voldemort’s defeat, the magic world is mundane again. Hermione finds herself in a standstill in her life where even though she’s incredibly intelligent, there isn’t anything she’s interested in making a career out of. Attending a carnival with her flatmate, Ginny, she comes into a scary new power: She can see visions of people’s impending death when she touches them. Despite her disgust at the art of Divination, she is forced to come to terms with her new power, realizing it isn’t something she can just ignore. What Hermione sees in her visions will lead her to discover a new evil brewing in the magic world, one where only her insightful mind and another’s tenacity for sneaking around can save the day.
