Hide Away

Chapter 14

A few hours later, I heard a voice trying to wake me up.

"Ginny, wake up," said the voice.

I grumbled and swore aloud. "Leave me 'lone."

"Come, Weasley. Get up."

I groaned. Even in my dreams, Malfoy was a git.

Someone was pushing me lightly, but I smacked him or her away. My hand hit something hard and so my eyes fluttered open.

I saw Malfoy beside m, holding his nose! There was blood coming out of it.

"Why do you always seem to hurt me?" he groaned.

"Oh my god," I said. "I am so sorry!"

I tried to help him, but he just pushed me away. I felt so bad that I took out a napkin and helped him.

As far as I could tell, we hadn't landed yet, so I took off my seatbelt and went over to him. Since we were in first class, our seats were a little apart.

I helped him clean it up and then he took out his wand and fixed it.

"I'm so sorry," I said, touching his nose lightly, making sure it wasn't broken or anything. "I thought you...were bothering me."

He didn't say anything, so I went on. "It's not broken, is it?" I touched it again and tweaked it a bit.

I smiled and said, "I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to at all." His skin felt so soft and smooth. My hands were cold, so when I touched him he flinched a bit, but now he was looking at me through his very grey eyes.

"It's ok," he said. He smiled a bit when I tweaked his nose and I smiled back.

"Good," I said as I got back in my seat.

Suddenly there was an announcement.

"We are about to land in Ankara, Turkey so will everyone please fasten their seatbelts? Thank you."

I fastened my seatbelt and got ready for the drop. I closed my eyes and made sure to keep my hands to myself this time. I had a feeling that since I had broken his nose, Draco wouldn't want to hold hands with me.

It took a minute, but I kept my eyes closed all the same.

As I was bracing my ears for the pop, I felt his hand caressing mine. He laced his fingers through mine.

I was so surprised that my eyes flew open. He was looking out the window, but his hand was the hand holding onto mine, caressing it gently.

I smiled at him, even though he couldn't see me, and felt like I was falling more and more in love with him now, if that was possible.

Just as I smiled, the plan lurched and I closed my eyes. I squeezed them shut tightly, and felt his hand holding onto mine tightly, as if to never let go.

He squeezed it lightly, to let me know he was there, and I squeezed back. I smiled, in spite of myself and my heart skipped a few beats when I thought of him holding hands with me.

We finally landed and I opened my eyes.

"You may now exit the plan through the designated exits," a voice announced over the intercom.

I took a deep breath and got up. I didn't get very far, because I was still wearing my seatbelt. So I kind of just lurched forward.

I grew red with embarrassment. I looked at Draco and saw him laughing. His eyes twinkled and for a second, I saw light shine through them.

I undid my seatbelt and grabbed my purse.

We excited the plane together. Unlike in London, the plane didn't have a ramp so we had to walk down the stairs and into the clear Ankara night.

I took a deep breath and took a good look around. We got led into the airport where we picked up our luggage

I was so sleepy that I just sat on a seat and watched Draco get our luggage. Even though I had a nap, my body was all cramped and felt stiff.

After a half hour, Draco came back with our small suitcases.

"Now what?" I yawned.

"We take a cab to the Ankara train station. It comes every two hours, and ours comes at three," he said.

"What time is right now then?" I asked.

He checked his watch, which I had seen him change to Ankara time. "It's two thirty in the morning right now."

I yawned again and got up with Draco, grabbed my suitcase. "Let's go then."

He nodded and led me outside, to where he called a cab.

I got into the cab and almost fell asleep.

It took us about twenty minutes to get to the station.

We got out and the driver took out our bags. Draco spoke to him in Turkish while I waited patiently by the tracks.

Draco walked to me.

"You know how to speak Turkish?" I asked him.

He nodded. "My father made me learn many languages when I was younger."

"Like what?"

He shrugged, taking a seat beside me on the bench. "Arabic, Spanish, Italian, Greek, French, Russian, German, as well as Turkish."

I was impressed. "Wow, that's cool. So where does this train take us?"

"All the way to Cairo."

"We're going to cross the continent on a train?" I asked.

He raised his eyebrow at me. "Yes."

"But...isn't there water?"

He sighed. "Europe connects to the Middle East, which connects to Africa. It's land. Is there some limit to your stupidity?"

I knew it was too good that he was being nice to me, and holding my hand.

"Shut up."

A faint toot could be heard close by, so Draco got up and said, "Get ready now. The train's almost here."

There weren't very many in the train station, but those who were there, looked pretty wealthy.

The train came into sight and parked in the station. A man opened a sliding door and stood there.

Draco led me there and handed the man some papers.

The man glanced at them and said some stuff in Turkish. Draco spoke back to him Turkish and I could tell that the man respected Draco a lot.

We got let in to the train, and if I thought the limo was fancy, this train was unbelievable. It was painted a rich gold with silver lines and had expensive paintings lining it. It looked more a like a hotel than a train.

The man led us to one end of the train and spoke some more gibberish. The man smiled slyly at Draco and Draco said something back, smiling back.

The man left and Draco opened the door.

I gasped as I walked into our compartment. It was huge, compared to how I had imagined train compartments to be. It was painted in the same gold colour with thick gold drapes covering the window. I ran to the window and pulled the drapes back and watched as the train pulled out of the station.

There was a small desk in the corner with some stationary on it and there was a large bed in one corner as well, with a gold comforter and ruffles. There was also a door in another corner, going to the bathroom I assumed.

"Wow," I said. "This is nice, Dr. Neil."

He smirked and put our luggage in one corner.

"How long will it take to get to Cairo?"

"About three days," he said, sitting down on the bed. He took off his jacket and tossed it to one corner. Whoa, he looked hot even when he sat down. His legs were spaced apart and he rested his elbows on them. He also looked at me like I was the most important thing ever.

Suddenly I realized something. "Why is there only one bed?"

He couldn't keep the smirk off his face. "Because we're married."

I stared at him. "Uh, not yet we're not. Don't we have to act like that down in Egypt?"

He shook his head. "No. Many of the people on this train are on their way to Egypt too. So if they see us acting different then they will be suspicious of us in Egypt."

"That's all nice and dandy," I said, taking my jacket off and planting my hands on my hips, "and so kind of you. In honour of your kindness, I nominate you to sleep on the ground."

He grinned. "That's so kind of you, but that's ok. You know my nose needs rest tonight. I think it'll break again."

"Ha, ha!" I said, faking laughter than stopping abruptly. "Very funny, but can you kindly go to the ground now, because I'm so not sleeping on the ground."

He shrugged. "I'm the one who's on the bed, so I guess I'll stay here. The floor will suit you."

"No. You can sleep on the floor. You're always raving about how you're so nice and kind, so why don't you show me the kindness and get your ass to the ground."

He smirked. "Make me."

I gaped him. "You are such a bloody git!"

I grabbed his hands and tried to pull him off, but he wouldn't budge.

I fell onto the ground with a loud thump and he smirked. I suddenly realized something about him. He acted different with me in work and different when we were alone together. He was sometimes nicer when we were alone together, not always.

I went behind him and tried to push him off. He didn't move again and I groaned.

I tried everything, even tickling him, but he wouldn't move.

I then found his week spot, his hair. I messed up his gelled hair and he tried to push me away.

"Not the hair," he groaned.

"Get off then," I said.

He wouldn't get off, but then he pushed me away and landed on top of me. On the bed.

I felt my eyes widen and my heartbeat quicken.

His arms were right next to me and he was close. I felt like my heart was going to rip out of my chest.

He just stayed there too. I didn't say anything and neither did he. He was close that I could feel his muscles lightly pressing against me. His breath smelled so good, and his lips were parted slightly. I felt like kissing him so desperately and I was scared that if he didn't get off soon, I would.

He just looked at me and blinked while a million thoughts ran through my head.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. He held my gaze for a second longer before finally getting off of me.

He walked to the door while I quickly got up and fixed my hair. He opened the door and some man stood there with a cart.

He said some Turkish and then handed Draco some towels. Draco took them and then shut the door.

I got up off the bed and said, "Never mind. You can have the bed."

He looked up and there was something I couldn't read in his eyes. For a second it looked like disappointment, but I didn't believe it.

"No it's ok. You can have it."

I shook my head. "No, you can have it."

He gave me a look and I looked back just as determinedly.

He sighed then. "Whatever."

"You know what. We'll take turns," I said. "You sleep on the bed one night and I take it the next."

He didn't say anything, just pulled his shirt off.

I think I would have drowned in my own drool if I hadn't put a hand on my mouth.

Is there any word to describe him? Hot? Sexy? Amazing? I don't know if there's even a word to describe him.

My heart skittered a few beats again and I took a deep breath to calm myself.

His chest was muscular and smooth, with fair white skin. He had really big muscles in his arms, and they were also smooth. I just wanted to have those arms hold me.

I grabbed my clothes and went off to the bathroom. I took off all my jewellery and makeup and my clothes, when I realized something. I had been thinking we would get separate rooms and so I had packed some nightgowns. Some very er...frilly nightgowns. I DID not want my boss/Draco Malfoy seeing my in lingerie but I was supposed to act like the rich and beautiful wife.

The bathroom was nice as well. It had a big tub as well as a shower stall next to it. I looked at myself in the mirror and frowned when I saw that I actually looked good with my new figure. I was wearing a pink nightgown that had pink lace on the neckline, showing a bit of my cleavage. I blushed a bit and saw that the dress had two thin straps and was quite short. Since I had longer legs now, the dress only went an inch before my knees.

I cursed myself a few times and then finally went outside.

Draco was wearing black boxers and no shirt. OH MY GOD. Need I say it again? If I was drowning before, it was nothing compared to what I felt now.

I was standing there, holding my arms over my chest and so he finally noticed me.

His eyes roamed over my body and for once, I willed myself NOT to blush. It actually worked too.

Draco didn't smirk or frown. His deep brown eyes were drinking me in and I felt really uncomfortable under his hot gaze. I felt like I was going to melt any second.

"I thought up an idea of how to solve the problem," I said.

He just looked at me. I made my eyes stay on his face and not anywhere else.

He raised an eyebrow at me and waited.

"We could put a magical boundary in the middle of the bed," I said.

He didn't say anything for a minute and then, "Do you know how to do that?"

I took out my wand. "Sure." I said an incantation and swished my wand. I checked it out, by passing my hand over the surface of the bed. It banged into something hard so I said, "There, it works."

He nodded and then shut the lights off with his wand. Everything was pitch black as I made my way, trying to find my side of the bed.

I stubbed my toe on the leg of the bed and swore aloud. I finally found the bed and lay down.

Just as an extra precaution I moved up to the middle of the bed and felt a wall separating us.

I smiled in satisfaction and then rolled back over to the other side.

I closed my eyes and fell asleep almost immediately.

The next morning, I was woken up by bright sunlight pouring into the room. I groaned and opened my eyes.

I got up and looked around the room. It was flooded with sunlight and looked really nice.

I looked over at Draco's side, but couldn't see anything. The wall that had been separating us was like a mirror, so I couldn't even see him.

I got up off the bed and looked over at his side. He wasn't there.

I glanced at the oriental clock in the room and saw that it was eight thirty. I wasn't that late then.

I was actually glad he wasn't there. It meant I could shower and dress in peace.

Just as a provision, I peeked inside the bathroom, but thankfully it was empty.

The bathroom was as beautiful as the bedroom. It was lined with gold mats and towels.

I began to take off my nightgown, when I realised I hadn't picked out my clothes.

I put it back on and then opened up my small suitcase full of clothes. I tried to think of what to wear when I realised that I didn't know the weather. I HAD to know the weather before I could dress. It was a strange old habit of mine.

There was a radio in the room so I tuned it 1799 WM.

"The magical atmosphere is splendid for a broom ride. All of you are going to want to take out your brooms and put away that Floo powder and get on those brooms! The weather here in Ankara will be warm, but with a light breeze. The high for today is 15 degrees Celsius."

I switched it off and then started looking through my clothes.

Today was our first day on the train and as Draco said, these people would be on the ferry with us on the Nile. Whatever I looked like now, would be a first impression.

I grabbed a pink dress that had flowers cut out on the neck and the hem of the dress. It went down just below my knees and I also picked out pink heels to wear with it.

I went back into the bathroom and took a shower. I got dressed, taking my time and enjoying the use of different luxuries that I didn't have available at home. I blow dried my hair and put on some light makeup.

I was done in an hour and when I was done, I surveyed myself in the mirror.

The pink dress looked really nice on me and fit my body nicely. I had straightened my red hair so it went down my back nicely. I had never straightened my hair before, so I was in awe with the spell that I had used to straighten my hair. I touched my hair; it felt very smooth, looked very silky, and stick straight.

After I had straightened it, I finally saw the real length of my hair. It fell down my back, touching my butt.

I had put some pretty pink chandelier earrings on and a matching necklace with a pink anklet. It was sleeveless but not spaghetti straps.

I smiled at myself and was happy with my transformation.

I opened the lock on the door and came face to face with Malfoy, with his fist raised towards my face.

"Sorry." He dropped his hand quickly.

I smiled at him and he looked at me, surprised.

"Good Morning, Neil. Did you sleep well?" I asked, happy in my new role.

He smiled a real smile and not a smirk and said, "Yes I did. How about you?"

"Absolutely splendid. Should we go down to breakfast?"

He nodded and offered me his arm. We left our suite and walked to the dining cart.

I smiled and acted charming and several women glance enviously at me as we walked through.

We were seated in the dining cart and were given menus as we were seated.

I started to open mine when Draco said, "Good acting. Many people are already noticing you."

I smiled prettily, fluttered my eyelashes. "Anything for you."

He stared at me in confusion before I added quickly, "Neil."

I opened my menu and scanned the options. I glanced up to look at Draco and smiled when I saw him frowning as he looked as his menu. He looked absolutely adorable with his hair brushed back and with a light blue expensive shirt on.

I was nervous about this new mission, but tried to look confident.

The waiter came back and took out orders.

Since I didn't want to look at Draco, I observed the people around me.

To our right was a woman dining alone. She wore expensive jewellery and a maroon dress. She had light brown hair and deep coloured eyes that I couldn't see from where I was sitting. She looked a few years older than me, and looked a bit suspicious to me.

The table in front of her had an elderly man dining with an elderly woman seated across from him. The woman wore an expensive gown that was black velvet and a big neckline, one that was probably too big for her age group. She had blood red lipstick and black hair tied in a bun. The man looked plump as well and he wore a grey suit to match his grey hair.

After them, I couldn't see any farther so I looked at the table behind Draco.

Seated there was a young man that was surveying me.

I turned my head quickly and felt my cheeks redden. The man had been wearing a black suit and had a dark brown hair. He looked Mediterranean just like...I gasped and my heartbeat quickened.

It was Evan. The Evan whom I had promised a date with...tomorrow.

I had no idea why he was there. Maybe it was a coincidence.

"What's wrong, Joanne?" Draco asked me.

I looked up at him and found a face of mock concern. It looked so real though, that it almost fooled me.

I shook my head. "Nothing."

He looked like he didn't believe me, but he didn't press the issue.

Our breakfast came and the waiter said something to me in Turkish.

I shrugged helplessly at him and Draco spoke to him.

The waiter nodded and put my plate in front of me.

I so wished I knew how to speak Turkish.

He put down Draco's plate and said something to him in Turkish and then he left.

"I wish I knew how to speak Turkish," I mumbled.

Draco smiled. "I'll teach you. Actually, I can put a spell on you so that you can understand it but I can't make you learn how," he said quietly.

I nodded. "All right."

"After breakfast," he said, as he began eating.

I started eating as well, but my attention was on Evan. I was scared of him for some reason, even though I had met him once.

When I met him, he appeared friendly and nice, but as I had turned to look at him, he had been looking at me with dark eyes, even though I recall his eyes to be greenish.

I glanced at him again and found him to be staring at me intently while he drank his tea or coffee.

I ate my breakfast quickly and then we left the dining cart.

We went inside our suite and I sat down on the bed. My heart was beating so quickly from when I had seen Evan on the train.

"Are you ok?" Draco asked me again, this time a little more roughly.

I took a deep breath. "Remember the other day, when you were looking for me in the Ministry and you found me talking to that guy? Evander was his name."

He nodded.

"Well, he's here," I said.

"So?"

"So isn't that strange that the day after I meet him I see him on the same train?"

Draco sat down next to me on the bed.

I turned to face him. "He was also looking at me so weird. Maybe he knows that I forgot to tell him sorry about the date and wanted to get revenge?"

He looked at me strangely. "Relax. It's probably only a coincidence. Most of the people on this train are from London and around the UK, like Scotland and Ireland. And as for him staring at you...maybe he likes you."

"Shut up," I said, whacking him. "I don't think so."

"Why would he have a date with you then, if he didn't like you?"

I shrugged. "Oh shit! I had a date with him and now here I am looking like I'm married to the guy I said was my boss. I also cursed at you.... so it won't look good if we're married, now will it?"

He just laughed. "You better cancel that date."

I rolled my eyes at him.

He came closer to me and took my left hand and looked at my finger with the ring.

"We look pretty good together don't we?" he asked me, looking at me with his grey eyes.

I just stared at him for a second.

He smirked. "Relax, I'm just joking. But be prepared to get close later today, if we want to be 'married'."

I rolled my eyes again, but smiled nonetheless.

He touched my cheek. "You look nice today," he said.

I blushed a bit and waited for him to smirk or say something rude, but he didn't. He just got up and said, "I'll be back."

He left the suite and I was left alone.

I sighed with glee.

I plopped on my back and lay on the bed. I smiled and felt great.

I can't believe he just said I looked nice. When I looked at myself in the mirror this morning, I had thought I looked pretty good, but I hadn't expected him to say that.

I liked this life; I had to admit. Wearing fancy clothes, having expensive jewellery, being married to Draco Malfoy. He even seemed nicer now that we were 'married'.

I lay there for a few minutes, just relaxing when Draco walked in.

I got up and smoothed my dress.

"Where'd you go?" I asked him.

He smirked. "Why? Did you miss me?"

"I did miss you terribly," I said sarcastically.

He smirked again and said, "I just went to ask the conductor some things. We're going to arrive in Egypt tomorrow night."

"That's good. What about that spell you were telling me about?"

He took out his wand and said, "Remember, you can't speak it, but you'll be able to understand it."

I nodded and he cast the spell.

"What am I saying?" he said. Then he switched to Turkish and said, "Dr. Neil and Joanne Rowling are married."

I mumbled, "Dr. Neil and Joanne Rowling are married."

He grinned and said, "You've passed your test."

I smiled and he said, "Would you like to join me in the parlour?"

I nodded. "Beats this place."

He smirked and gave me his arm again.

I took his arm and got ready to spend the day at the parlour.
