Hide Away

Chapter 13- the new mission

I spent the rest of Sunday wallowing and feeling depressed.

I woke up early on Monday and played with Snowflake a bit. I felt that I had been neglecting her with all my problems, and so I felt a bit guilty that she might be sad.

She seemed happy for my company as I played with her half-heartedly.

Even though I had woken up early, I still ended up late because I couldn't find my notes, when I realized ten minutes later that I could just use magic.

I got to work ten minutes late. As soon as I entered the Ministry, my phone rang, causing me to drop all my folders and notes.

I sighed; it was a typical Monday morning for me that was for sure.

I grabbed my phone and flipped it on.

"Hello?" I said briskly.

"Why are you late?" came Malfoy's voice.

I sighed. It was really amazing, you know. That he even knew that I was late.

"I couldn't find my notes, sorry Draco," I said in a rush, picking up my things.

"This is a work environment, Miss. Weasley," came his cold voice. "You will call me sir or Mr. Malfoy. We don't know each other personally so there is no need to refer to a first term basis."

I was offended now. So he wanted to be cold with me. Well fine!

"Fine! Goodbye, sir!" I slammed my phone shut.

"A slimy git for a boss?" came a voice.

I jumped and screamed.

The voice just laughed. I looked around for the source of it.

I found it to be a young man roughly around the same age as me, perhaps older.

My brown eyes widened and I said, "Sorry?"

He smiled at me. "Got an idiot for a boss?"

I glanced at the phone and then back at him. He was on the ground helping me pick up my notes and folders.

I nodded and said, "Yeah. How did you know?" I was shocked that a guy other than my annoying boss was talking to me, especially such a good-looking guy. He looked Mediterranean, maybe Greek. He had smooth fair skin, but there was an exotic look about him. His eyes were the colour of celery and his brown hair was curly and soft looking. He wore robes that were black but I could tell that his clothes underneath it were casual. He was the exact opposite of Draco.

He laughed. "You slammed the phone down, that's how."

I laughed too. "Maybe."

"So this is what you're doing," came Malfoy's voice.

I got up and so did the guy.

Malfoy was standing behind the guy and he walked up to me. Today he did not look hot at all. Well he did a little, wait, never mind. He looked totally hot, but it was just that I was too ticked off to care.

"I thought you were getting your notes." He raised an eyebrow.

"I was," I said, giving him a bit of attitude. "This kind gentleman helped me. Thank you by the way." I turned to him.

He smiled and said, "No problem. By the way I'm Evander, or otherwise known as Evan."

I smiled back. "I'm Ginny Weasley."

"And you're late for work," said Malfoy. "I want to see you in my office right now."

I scowled at him and said, "Coming." Then I brightened when I saw Evan smiling at me. "See you later and thanks for helping me out."

I then pushed past Malfoy, brushing him.

Whoa, I can't believe I just gave Draco Malfoy attitude, the KING of attitudes.

I went to his office and saw down in the chair opposite from him.

He stared at me, with a certain dislike so I stared back.

"What happened?" he demanded in that rude tone of his.

"I thought you said we weren't to get too personal, sir," I pointed out.

"We aren't. I'm just inquiring to the reason of your lateness," he said.

"Well, inquire away," I said.

"We aren't. I'm just inquiring to the reason of your lateness," he said.

"Well, inquire away," I said.

He raised his eyebrow at me. "Sorry, I forgot. You don't respond well to people being nice. You're so damn wrapped up in your own world to notice that people are trying to help you."

"Help me? Ha!" I laughed. "Not that's funny Malfoy. I didn't realize you were being nice when you were yelling at me over the phone this morning."

"I wasn't yelling, Weasley. But then again, you're not around people that much, so you can't even tell the difference between someone talking and yelling," he said.

I marched up to him. "Well, excuse me, Mr. Malfoy!" I pointed a finger at him. "You have no right whatsoever to insult me! You don't know anything about me ok?"

He raised his eyebrows.

"Don't look at me like that," I said. "Don't give me that look like it's me who was wrong! You know what; I'm fed up with this job. I'm fed up with you."

I grabbed my folders and attempted to walk out the door. Notice the use of the word attempted. I didn't get through it at all. My foot, or rather the heels of my shoes (stupid heels) tripped on the carpet and fell.

Oh great! Can't I be the kind of girl that makes a graceful exit once in a while? It's like clumsiness is part of my genetic code or something.

I groaned and rubbed my foot.

"I thought you were leaving," came Malfoy's voice from right in front of me.

I looked up and sighed as I saw him on the ground in front of me.

"I was trying to," I said. "Obviously I failed."

He shrugged. "Oh, you can leave then. I guess I'll give your raise to Heather Feather than."

"A raise?!" I screamed.

He winced and held his ear. "Yes Weasley, a raise. I think you broke my ear drum."

I grinned. "Finally!"

"But I thought you were quitting?"

I smiled sheepishly. "I guess... my hear death experience opened my eyes a bit."

He rolled his eyes at me, but nonetheless took my hand and helped me up.

"Why is it that whenever I'm around you I trip?" I asked him. "It's like you're a curse."

He shrugged. "Probably. Now back to work."

I knew he was still mad at me, but I didn't know what to do to make it up to him. What would he like? A day at the spa or something?

I snickered to myself and he said, "What's so funny?"

I snapped out of it and shook my head. "Nothing." Then I grinned. "Hey, since I shared so many of my secrets with you the other night, when I was drunk, isn't it fair you return the favour?"

He frowned at me. "No."

I felt like I had been slapped in the face. The way he had said had been so harsh and mean sounding. I felt tears cloud my vision, but I refused to let him see me crying.

I didn't say anything to him for the rest of the day. I listened to whatever he said and did what he told me.

That day when I got home and began looking through my notes, I found a most peculiar thing.

It was a slip of paper with a guy's number on it. Not just any guy either; it was the guy I had met earlier that day. Evan or whatever.

I blushed as I looked at it. I can't believe he actually liked me enough to give me his number.

I sat there for an hour, thinking whether to call him or not.

In the end, I decided I was up to a change and he looked so nice and sweet.

Malfoy obviously didn't like me that way. It was like he wanted to forget everything that had happened between us on the weekend.

I picked up my phone gingerly.

I dialled the number about five times and hung up, feeling scared.

Finally I hung through and he answered.

"Hello?"

"Hi, this is Ginny Weasley...you know the girl you bumped into at the Ministry today?"

I heard the smile in his voice as he spoke. "Oh hey!"

I blushed. "I uh, found your number through my papers...." I had no idea what to say after that.

"Yeah, I thought you were really nice and I was wondering if you wanted to go out some time?"

I gulped. Wow, he was asking me?

"Sure, that sounds great," I mumbled.

"Cool. Hey, are you busy tomorrow night?" he asked.

"Um..." I tried to remember what I was doing.

"I know you're probably busy because of Christmas this weekend and all, and I'm really sorry, it's short notice..." he went on.

I blinked. It was Christmas already? Wow, I had been so wrapped up in my own life, I had forgotten that Christmas was coming up.

"Uh no," I said. "I'm not busy. I was just trying to think whether I had any plans or not, but I don't," I said quickly.

He laughed. "Wow, you talk fast. Could you please repeat that?"

I was always so used to people understanding what I said. Well actually my family was always used to it, because I always spoke like that. And Draco was...just Draco. I have no idea how he even understood me. Even when I was in school, my teachers would scold me for speaking so rapidly fast and ask me several times to repeat something. Now that I thought of it, I didn't remember any time when Draco asked me to slow down or to repeat something again.

I laughed too, although nervously. "Sorry about that. I'm not busy on Thursday."

"Great, I'll pick you up at seven?"

I nodded and then realized that he couldn't see me. "Yes, that's fine." I then proceeded to give him my address.

After I hung up, I smiled and giggled for no reason. He wasn't Draco that was for sure. But he was nice and I liked him.

As soon as I shut the phone, it rang again.

I flipped it on. "Hello?"

"What the hell were you doing on the phone for so long, Weasley?"

I knew that voice anywhere.

"I was talking...to a friend," I said.

I could hear the smirk in his voice. "Sure you were. I didn't know you had any friends."

"Shut it."

"What are you doing right now?" he asked me.

"Obviously talking to a git."

"Obviously. I meant are you busy right now?"

"No your Majesty. What can I do for you?"

"The Peacock mission has finished. We just caught Peacock himself trying to smuggle his way into the Ministry and Dumbledore himself has got him shipped off to Azkaban. It'll be in the Prophet tomorrow."

I gasped. "Oh my god. Are you serious?"

"Why would I tell you if I wasn't serious?"

"Good question."

"Anyways, the mission has been successful and I...owe a lot to you...for helping out," he said, stumbling a bit.

I grinned. "Oh, you shouldn't have."

"Shouldn't have what?"

"Nothing, I just like saying it."

"All right. Anyways, the reason why I was asking what you were doing right now is because I need to brief you about our next assignment. But I can't do it on the phone. It needs to be done in person."

"I thought you were mad at me?"

"I was. I am."

"Then why are you talking to me?"

"I can't stop talking to every single person I hate. Actually, I talk most with the people I find revolting."

It took me a minute, but I finally got it. "Hey are you calling me revolting?"

"I don't know. What do you think?"

"I think yes."

"Whatever. Just come."

"Aw, miss me Draco?" Oh My God. Was I insane? Did I just say that to him? Out loud? I had no idea what was happening to me while I was talking to him. I was flirting with him!

"Yes, I'm pining away for you, Ginny. I miss you so much, don't make me beg you."

"Beg me," I said. "You know, I am very busy. I have so many dates lined up for tonight, so I don't have much time. Tell me how much you want me to come."

I had no idea what I was saying or what game I was playing, but whatever it was, he was playing along quite nicely. He had lost his cold attitude and was joking back with me and wasn't yelling or insulting me.

"All right. Please Ginny. You know I'm nothing without you and I feel so incomplete. You're my other half, we were meant to be together and all that crap."

"That wasn't very charming," I said.

He lost the niceness and suddenly remembered it was me he was talking to. "Are you coming or not?"

"How am I supposed to come? Don't you have like a million charms and hexes to stop people from apparating?"

"I do, but I'm temporarily removing it."

"Aw, for me?"

"Yes, now hurry. Did you eat anything yet?"

"It's seven o'clock, you git. I just got home from the office half an hour ago."

"So? Do you want something to eat?"

"I guess..." I said.

"Ok. I haven't eaten yet either, so come soon."

I nodded again and for some weird reason, he just went on as if he had seen me nod or heard me say 'yes' even though I hadn't said anything.

"Good. Come in about fifteen minutes?"

"Ok," I said and hung up the phone.

I went to my room and took a quick shower (just in case I smelled) and then grabbed a pair of dark jeans and pink long sleeved shirt.

I then grabbed my notebook, my diabetes kit and my purse and disapparated.

I had apparated into some hallway that was fully dark.

I treaded carefully to the end of the hallway, watching out for the Dragon that was also called 'Draco Malfoy'.

"Ginny?" came a voice.

"Where are you lurking Malfoy?" I asked, walking towards the voice.

I bumped into something hard. "Ow!" I screamed.

Suddenly all the lights flew on and I blinked as I looked into the eyes of my attacker.

It was Malfoy, sulking and wincing.

"What were you doing?" I asked him.

"Waiting for you," he responded. "I think you broke my toes."

"Good, serves you right," I said. "Why didn't you turn the lights on?"

"I like the darkness, maybe."

"Obviously you do," I muttered.

"What was that?"

"Nothing," I snapped.

"Fine," he also snapped. "Just follow me and try not to break anything."

I stuck my tongue out at his back, but followed him nonetheless.

He led me to the kitchen.

"Do you want to eat something?" he asked.

"Not if you ask me like that, no," I answered.

He smirked. "All right. Your loss." He sat down at the table and started eating a burger.

I stood, watching him stuff his face.

He glanced at me and raised his eyebrow. I rolled my eyes at him and sat down.

I was about to eat when I remembered something. "Shit!"

"What?"

I was uncomfortable. I couldn't think of any excuse. "I...uh...have to..."

"Check your blood levels?" he offered.

"How'd you know?" I asked, surprised and shocked.

"You told me, remember?" he said. Seeing the shocked look on my face, he said, "Obviously not."

I didn't know what to say.

"Go ahead," he said.

I took out my kit from my purse and pricked my finger on the small needle. I glanced up at him, to see if he was watching me, but he was busy eating his burger. I smiled to myself, for no apparent reason and put the strip with my blood on it into the machine.

After two minutes, I checked it and saw that it was 5. It wasn't that bad, but it was extremely low. I put the kit away and then started eating.

We ate in silence. I glanced up every few minutes, to look at him. He was eating neatly, as usual and looked really hot doing so.

His hair wasn't gelled now and it looked so soft and silky. He wore a white t-shirt and dark jeans. He looked just as handsome as he did at the office, but more relaxed and he didn't look like he wanted to kill me as he ate.

After we were done, I said, "Thanks."

"No problem. Just leave your plate," he said, wiping his mouth with a napkin.

"Do you have house elves?" I asked him, curiously staring around.

He nodded.

I couldn't help but smile. "Hermione would kill you if she knew."

He shrugged, but for a second, I thought I saw a smile playing about his lips.

"Let's go," he said. He led me to his office. It about three minutes to get there, because his house was so big. I remembered the last time I had been it, and blushed for some darn reason.

As we walked around his house in silence, I couldn't help but feel sorry for him.

"Don't you ever get lonely, Draco?" I asked him softly.

He turned around to look at me. There was something unreadable in his eyes.

"Don't you?" he asked me back.

"Of course I get lonely," I said. "But I don't live in a huge Palace all alone, do I? Besides my apartment is so small, I never really feel so alone."

"You don't?" He was looking at me seriously.

I shrugged, not wanting to talk about it.

He looked at me for another minute and then continued on his way.

He entered his office and gestured to a chair. I sat down and he sat down at his desk.

"The reason I asked you to come, Ginny, is because we have another mission. This one requires me to step out of the office, however," he said, placing his hands in front of him.

"So you need me to stay behind?" I asked him.

"That's your choice. I need someone to come with me anyway, as it's a double agent mission. But I can take someone else with me, if you prefer not to go," he continued.

"What's the mission?"

"There's someone murdering muggles down there and we need to go and investigate."

"Sounds good to me," I said. "I'd rather do that then work at the office. I'll still get paid though right?"

He nodded. "There's something else you'll have to know. To come along, we'll have to...be married."

"What?! Why?!"

He smirked. "Sorry, but that's just the way it is. The person who we suspect behind this, is always around muggles and so we have to act like muggles and travel the muggle way."

"You still didn't answer my question. Why do we have to be married?"

"Most of the trip and investigation takes place on a small ferry that goes around the Nile and we'll be able to be together and still working if we pretend we're married," he said. "If we're just co-workers or friends, we'll draw suspicion to ourselves. We need to be constantly together for this, and if we're friends that excuse won't go too far. Being married is the only way. Like I said before, you don't have to do it. I have plenty of other agents ready to go."

I tried to look revolted, but inside I was bubbling. I had to pretend to be married to him? Working for him didn't get any better than this!

I tried to keep the excitement off my face. "I'd rather get out of London and it's warm in Egypt. Besides, it's a paid holiday," I said, sighing and acting annoyed.

"I know you're dying to come," he said, smirking.

"No I'm not!" I quickly retorted.

"Relax, I was just joking," he said, looking over some papers in his hands.

"Fine I'll come," I said. "What'll happen to all your departments?"

"I've already handled that," he said, looking up for a second.

"When are we leaving then?"

"Tomorrow night."

"Tomorrow night?" I gasped. "Why so soon?"

"Because this needs my immediate attention," he said. "Get your things ready by tomorrow night and then we're leaving."

"How are we getting there?" I asked him. I tried to imagine us going on a broomstick.

"We're taking a flight tomorrow at seven to Turkey, and then from there we take a train to get to Egypt where we'll be pretending to be a married couple on our honeymoon," he said, with a smirk on his lips.

I frowned at him and said, "Are we going undercover?"

"Yes, but we don't have to change our appearance if that's what you mean. Our names and travel documents might need to be altered, however," he said. "That will be your job tomorrow."

I nodded and he continued, "Tomorrow you will come to the office and just finish off a few things for me as will I. You can then leave at two to get your things ready and I'll pick you up at your flat at six. I also need you to dress fancier and speak more politely."

"What? What's wrong with the way I look?" I demanded.

"Nothing, but we're rich and so you need to look wealthy and first class because people there will be observing us," he pointed out. "Also, don't swear or insult me then. It won't look good." He smirked.

I smiled sheepishly. "Is that it then?"

He nodded and stood up. I also stood up.

"I'll give you the documents tomorrow that you have to change and the names that we will be assuming," he said.

"Ok, can I go then?"

He nodded and I closed my eyes and disapparated.

When I got home, I checked the time. It was now nine o'clock.

I didn't feel like packing just then so I started wondering what I was going to do with Snowflake. I couldn't just leave her at home.

Maybe I could leave her with Ron and Hermione.

I took out a piece of parchment, wrote something on it and gave it to Snowflake.

In the note, I wrote 'Hey Ron and Hermione,

I have to go on a business trip to Egypt for a few days. I'm not sure how long yet, but I'll let you know when I get there. Draco Malfoy is coming with me on this mission and we're leaving tomorrow night. I was wondering if you could keep Snowflake while I'm gone? If you're too busy, just send her back and I'll ask Harry and Luna.

Thanks,

Ginny'

I put Snowflake in the balcony and watching as she paddled away.

I waited fifteen minutes, and when she didn't return, I assumed that Ron and Hermione had kept her.

I went to bed right after that, excited about the next day.

The next morning, I woke up and for once, felt refreshed and rested.

I got dressed quickly, and made my way to work.

I met Malfoy in the office at eight thirty.

I smiled at him and for once, he didn't frown back. He didn't smile back, but at least he didn't frown or look annoyed.

He gave me a few random tasks to do before he called me back to his office at twelve.

"Did you get everything done?" he asked.

I nodded. "Yup, everything is ready for tonight. Everyone who I talked to was very understanding."

He nodded and handed me some papers. "I need you to change the names on our passports and travel documents."

I took the papers and glanced at the first page.

"Dr. Neil and Joanne Rowling?" I said. "Those are our names?"

He shrugged. "What's wrong with them?"

I made a face. "Nothing, I guess. They're so plain."

"Live with it, Joanne," he said, smirking at me.

I sighed and said, "Whatever. I'll change them. Where's your passport?"

"In the pile."

"Ok," I said. I got up and went to my office.

I spread all the papers with the instructions on them in front of me and took out my wand and quill. I changed all the names and then went back to Malfoy's office.

There was no one there, so I called him.

"I'm done," I said, as soon as he picked up.

"Fine. Take the documents with you and go home," he said. "I'll come at six, so be ready."

"Ok," I said and I shut the phone.

I suddenly remembered something, so I redialled his number and he picked up.

"Hi. Sorry to bother you again. But how long will this mission take?"

"Perhaps a few weeks, up to a month," he said. "Is that all?"

"Um...yeah. I guess so. Bye." I shut the phone and then made my way home.

I ate my lunch and then took out my small suitcase. It was the smaller ones that had wheels on it and a handle to drag it.

I put in all my clothes, when I realized that I had to transfigure them into fancier ones to suit my role as a rich wife.

I magically took them out and then transformed them into fancier and more expensive looking clothing.

I changed many of my tops into dresses and changed the designs. I then duplicated my jewellery two times and then transfigured them into rubies, diamonds, emeralds and sapphires.

I then picked an outfit that was comfortable, but still fancy for the plane ride. Then I magically made all of my clothes, which were a lot now, fir into the small suitcase and made it feel light.

I then took a bath and rested until five o'clock.

At five, I woke up from my little nap and felt refreshed. I got my purse ready, with all the travel documents and my diabetes kit, along with my cell phone.

I then got dressed and transformed my glasses into magical contact lenses. Then I fixed my hair nicely. I wanted to look like Mrs. Draco Malfoy, or rather Mrs. Joanne Rowling.

I stood in front of my full-length mirror and looked at myself.

I was wearing a white cashmere sweater with a turtleneck with nice black flared pants. My auburn hair was tied back loosely with a pearl clip. It was wavy and the ends went straight, dangling down my back. I also wore pearl studs on my ears and had a pearl bracelet. I had also done a bit of makeup, just some eyeliner to bring out my brown eyes and some lip-gloss.

I had also transformed my coat into something nicer. I was ready with everything ten minutes before he was supposed to come.

I checked my sugar and then packed some things that would come in handy if my sugar went too high or low on the plane.

I was reading when Malfoy came exactly ay six.

He rang the doorbell and I opened it.

He didn't say anything when he saw me. He just looked me up and down, and then smiled slightly. He seemed happy with my transformation.

He looked nice, as usual. He wore his usual black coat, but I could see his clothes under. He wore black dress pants with a green shirt under. His hair looked slightly shorter, but it still fell in his eyes, except it didn't hide his eyes now.

I couldn't help but smile either, when I saw him.

"Did you do a growing spell on yourself?" he asked me.

I grinned. I had put a growing spell on my short and stubby legs, making me a bit closer to his height. Instead of my usual 5''4, I was now 5''6.

I liked this height much better. I could see into his eyes now. Instead of looking up to him, I could see his beautiful grey eyes closer.

"I did," I answered.

He didn't look upset. In fact, he grinned and nodded and said, "Are you ready?"

"Yup," I said. I grabbed my purse and suitcase.

"Here," he said, taking my suitcase from me.

"You know, usually I would refuse, but today I won't," I said, grinning at him.

He didn't say anything, but smirked nonetheless.

"Glad you didn't take it the wrong way," he said.

"No problem, Neil." I locked my door and placed a few curses and hexes on the door and my flat.

He led my downstairs and to the front of the building. Parked right there was a white limo.

I almost squealed, but then restrained myself.

"What's this for?"

He shrugged.

I didn't care about his response. I opened the door and gasped as I looked around. There was a mini TV and a mini bar along with seats that went around the back.

I sat down and waited for Malfoy to come. He gave my suitcase to the driver and then slid in next to me.

"This is so cool," I said, gazing around.

He shut the door behind him and then pressed a button on the panel on the door. The window that separated us from driver went down and Malfoy went, "Take us to the airport."

The driver nodded and then Malfoy put the window back up.

"Where are the documents?" he asked me.

"Right here." I took them out of my purse and gave them to him. He got up and sat down in the seat right across from me.

He looked through them and said, "Good." Then he handed me back my passport and pocketed his.

We didn't say anything for a few minutes. I was looking out the window, through the tinted glass. I was so engrossed in looking outside, that I didn't even notice that he was watching me.

After a few minutes of looking outside, he spoke.

"I forgot to give you this," he said, coming and sitting right next to me, this time on my left.

He took my hand and my heart skipped a few beats. He slipped something on my ring finger and I gasped when I saw it.

It was a diamond ring that looked like a small boulder. The diamond was shaped as a square or diamond, depends on which way you looked at it. It sparkled and shimmered, from every direction I looked at it. It also had two small diamonds on each side of it.

"What do you think?" he asked me.

"It's breathtaking," I said, as I brought my hand closer to me, so I could look at it.

"It's a fake," he said.

I sighed and said, "Thanks a lot."

He smirked. "It was something else, but I transfigured it."

"Thanks. It must have taken you so long to transfigure, didn't it?" I asked him, sarcastically.

"A few hours and a lot of sweat," he said, with a serious face.

I rolled my eyes just as the limo stopped.

He opened the door and got out. I got out after him, taking my purse with me.

The driver took our bags as we made our way into the airport.

We checked in and the driver put our bags on the conveyer belt.

Then Malfoy sent the driver away and we sat down to wait for our flight.

I was slightly jittery and Malfoy saw that.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I've just never been on a plane before," I said.

"Oh," he said.

Ten minutes later, a call came over the PA, "All first class passengers on the flight to Ankara, Turkey please board at Gate 21. Again, all first class passengers on the flight to Ankara, Turkey please board at Gate 21."

"Let's go," he said, getting up.

"We're first class?" I asked him.

He nodded and took me hand, drawing me closer to him. "Act like we're married. Come on."

My heart skittered as we made our way to the counter.

Malfoy showed the man there our tickets and they let us through.

We made our way through the ramp and went into the plane. We found our seats and sat down.

Our seats were next to the window and big and comfy looking.

He let go of my hand and got comfortable.

"How long is the flight, dear?" I asked him.

He smirked. "Five hours."

"Five hours?"

He nodded.

I just stared at him and felt a feeling of dread fill my stomach.

Twenty minutes later, an announcement was made over the PA.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the plane will be taxiing towards the runway so fasten your seatbelts and get ready for lift off."

I grabbed my seatbelt, frantically and buckled it right up.

A minute later, the plan started moving and I started panicking. "Oh my God, oh my god," I repeated again and again.

Malfoy just smirked at me. "Relax, Ginny. It's not even the worst part."

I gaped at him. "The worst part? You mean it gets worse?!"

He frowned. "Not really..."

But I wasn't even listening to him, because the plane suddenly took off.

I almost screamed, and closed my eyes. My hand quickly found Draco's and held onto it hard. My ears felt like they were going to fly off and I could feel us lurching towards the sky.

With my eyes shut tight and my ears temporarily deaf, I felt Draco's fingers lace through mine.

The turbulence lasted about four minutes and then it stopped. My ears suddenly felt a bit strange, but there was no more pain. The plane was pretty stable now and I could hear people talking around me.

I opened my eyes and took a deep breath.

"Are we in the sky?" I asked him.

He didn't say anything, just showed me his hand with mine still attached to it. I took my hand out of his and saw that it was red and that there was a mark on his palm where my ring had pressed into it.

"Sorry," I said, wincing.

He flicked his hand back and forth, to get the circulation going through it again.

He took of his seatbelt and I asked him, "Is that even safe?"

He smiled a bit. "Don't worry."

When he smiled at me, my heart melted. "Wouldn't want you getting hurt, now would I?"

He didn't say anything, but just held my eyes. Then he looked away.

I took a deep breath and looked back to my hand. The ring was pretty, despite the fact that it wasn't real.

I smiled a bit and then looked up. Malfoy was looking out the window and so I looked out too.

We were high above the clouds and my smile stretched wider when I saw it. Suddenly I felt weightless and worry free. I wanted to go riding on a broom. It was the same feeling with flying.

My eyes widened when I saw birds flying alongside the plain. The sky was dark and glittered with stars and dark, shape shifting clouds.

I sat back down and a woman came up to us.

She had a cart behind her and she asked, "Would you like something to drink?"

I looked at Malfoy and he said, "One champagne please. What do you want?" he asked me.

"Nothing, thank you."

The woman poured some champagne into a glass and passed it to me, to pass to Draco.

She left and Draco sipped his drink.

"Are you sure you don't want some?" he held out the glass to me.

"No, remember what happened last time?"

He nodded and smiled mischievously.

I took out my book and started to read.

"Didn't you already read that one?" he asked me.

I looked up at him, and was surprised to hear him ask something about my book. "No. It's part of a series. This is the fifth one in it."

He nodded and then turned back to look outside the window.

I was so shocked to hear him ask me something other than work. I looked at him while he looked out the window.

He has nice features, I think I've mentioned. He has a strong jaw line with high cheekbones. His eyes were big as well. He also had two dimples on his cheeks, which I thought were the cutest things ever. I had only seen them about twice.

I sighed and continued reading. About twenty minutes later, they served us dinner. It was quite delicious and I was thankful we were sitting in first class.

After dinner, I didn't know what to do. Draco was looking over some notes of his on his laptop. It didn't look like he wanted to talk to me but I still asked him, "When are we going to be there?"

He didn't look away from the screen, he just said, "In a few hours."

"Ok, then I'm going to sleep. Wake me up when we get there," I said, taking out a blanket from under the seat and wrapping it around myself.

He finally looked up, for a second. "Ok, good night."

I smiled as I closed my eyes and snuggling in my seat. It was so sweet that he said good night to me.

I smiled wider and fell asleep immediately, not aware that Draco Malfoy spent the rest of the flight staring at me.

Author notes: What did you think of the new mission? Things are going to get gotter between them and just for the record, I'm not making Draco the knight in shining armour. Ginny doesn't need a guy to make her feel happy, as you will soon see!
