Hide Away

Chapter 11- sorrows come tumbling out

I spent the afternoon working and resting, after I got home.

On Thursday, we had to go the Club Flamingo so my work hours were cut short in the day, as I would be working at night.

In the morning, I got dressed and went to work.

I met Malfoy in the office and he held up a copy of the prophet.

I gulped; I so did not want to see what was written in there.

"Do I want to read that?" I asked him.

He shrugged. "See for yourself."

I took it from him and settled in to my chair in his office that was across from him.

I skimmed the article quickly, but it didn't mention me at all. All it talked about was quidditch and it also included a few facts about Malfoy's career.

I looked up and found Malfoy looking at me.

"This doesn't have anything about me."

He rolled his eyes. "You expected it to be about you?"

"No," I said. "But she was writing down all this trash about us."

He was smirking in this way so I asked him, "What? What did you do?"

He shrugged, nonchalantly. "Nothing. I just had a word with her."

I smirked as well. "I see, well thanks anyways."

He just nodded his head slightly and then said, "I need to go soon, but let me just tell you some things. Tonight you're to meet me at club Flamingo at eight thirty. We're going to be spying on Peacock there."

I nodded and he continued, "Also, I want you dressed appropriately. Try to blend in."

I nodded and he said, "That's it then. Don't be late."

I went to my office and continued my work for the day.

As I worked, I couldn't help but worry about what I was going to wear. I didn't have any clothes in which to go clubbing in, because I had never been clubbing.

I also didn't know what you were supposed to do there, other than dance, be naked, get drunk and high.

I would be working, so that would all right. No need for me to do any of those things.

Wait, I would be working with Malfoy. He would definitely find those naked girls hot, I'm sure. How do I know this, you ask? Well for a first, it's every guy's dream to dance with one of those sluts but also if Layla Skeeter had been his girlfriend, then for sure he's drool over them.

I snorted to myself; it's not like I wanted to divert his gaze from those girls to me or anything. It's not like I had anything that would do so. The only thing that would make him look at me would be if I dumped some drink on my clothes, or his for that matter or if I slipped and fell.

Not pleasant thoughts, I did bit want to predict my destiny already.

I finished my work and got home at four. I ate something and then trashed my room.

By seven the place was a mess, and I still didn't know what to wear. There were clothes strewn on my bed and floor. It was like a scene from a muggle movie.

If you knew me very well, then you could see how strange this was. First of all, I don't obsess over clothes this much and second, it only takes me about five minutes to pick something and ten minutes to get dressed.

I don't reveal my body and that's not because I think I'm fat or anything, but I just don't see the point of it. Tight clothes make me feel uncomfortable so that's why I don't wear them

I dress very conservatively and so that's why I didn't know what to wear to a club, perhaps because I had never been to one!

I finally picked an outfit. I showered and got dressed, then tied my red hair back. I decided to put some makeup on, so at least my face would look nice if my body couldn't.

At eight I finished and surveyed myself in the mirror. I was wearing black leather pants (my only pair and they weren't tight) and a white t-shirt that had in sparkly writing 'Sagittarius' and a long black jacket on top. My hair was tied up in a high ponytail and my lips were bronze from lip-gloss. Medea had given me some makeup a few birthdays ago, so I used some of that. My eyes were lined lightly with eyeliner and my eyelids were bronze with some sparkles.

I sighed as I looked at myself. I looked more like I was on my way to go shopping with my mom than to go clubbing.

I grabbed my purse, with my diabetes kit and kissed Snowflake.

I then left the house and made my way across London. Malfoy had given me directions to the club, so I followed them and found the place easily.

I gulped as I walked in the door, not knowing what to expect.

__________________________________________________________________

Ginny walked into the club Flamingo and waited a long line to check in. She was nervous and jittery and was playing with a ring on her hand, something she often when she got nervous.

"ID?" said the man, when Ginny made it to the front of the line.

Ginny took out her driver's license, something her father had made her get, despite her mother's screams.

The man nodded and then said, "Who're you with?"

She gulped. "Um, Draco Malfoy."

The man punched something into the computer in front of him and waited.

After a few minutes, Malfoy showed up and the man asked him, "is this girl with you?"

Malfoy glanced at her and wanted to say no and let her stand there, but he decided against it. "Yes."

The man removed the rope and let her through.

Ginny's heart was beating so loud; she couldn't hear the music.

Malfoy led her to where he was sitting. It was a couple of stools around one of the various bar's in the large room. It was obvious that this was a muggle club.

As they sat down, he looked her up and down.

"What?" she snapped.

He hid a smirk and said, "Nothing. It's just that you look like you're on your way to the office."

She blushed and looked down.

"I told you to try and blend in," he said. "You're sticking out."

She shrugged. "Whatever."

He didn't say anything else, just took a sip of whatever he was drinking.

"Want something to drink?" he asked her, over the loud music.

She shook her head and he smirked again as he took a drink.

"Shut up and say it," she said. "You obviously find something funny, so just say it."

He smirked and just looked at her through his thick lashes.

She seemed uncomfortable; he could sense that for sure. She was sitting upright, looking at everything as if she'd never seen it before. He was sure she's never been to a club before.

Ginny gulped as she saw Malfoy looking at her. She was so uncomfortable and that git was looking at her, making her even more self-conscious. He looked so damn hot too; she had to admit.

He looked amazing! He was wearing a white button up shirt with silver lines, with a few buttons open with dark jeans. He also wore a thin silver chain around his neck and his hair fell into his eyes and Ginny's hand's itched to put his hair back.

"Where's Peacock?" she asked him.

He shrugged. "Not here yet."

She nodded and just watched the people dance.

After a few minutes of silence between them, he muttered, "Peacock's here. I'll be right back."

She nodded and watched as he left. Ginny watched as Peacock made his way around the room to another bar and Malfoy followed him.

He was great, Ginny had to admit. He was so discreet and swift that Peacock didn't even notice anything.

The bartender asked her, "Do you want something?"

She shook her head and looked back on the dance floor for Malfoy, but couldn't find him.

After a few minutes he came back and sat down next to her.

"His associate is not here yet," he said, returning to his drink. "We'll just have to wait."

She nodded, but couldn't help but feel out of place. She so did not belong here.

Malfoy whipped out his wand and said, "You forgot to change your hair colour." He muttered a spell and the next thing she knew my hair was black and straight.

"Do you want something to drink?" he asked her again.

"No thanks," she said.

"Don't you ever have fun, Weasley?" he asked her.

She looked up at him and snorted. "This is having fun?" she pointed to the bar and the people dancing.

He shrugged.

"I have better things to do with my time than 'have fun'," she said.

"You only say that because you can't do it."

"Do what?"

"Any of this."

"I can so do this. By this I think you're referring to as getting drunk and naked and then dancing the senses out of myself."

He smirked. "You said it not me."

"I can, whether you believe me or not. I just rather wouldn't."

"Prove it," he dared.

"Prove what?"

"Prove that you can have fun and let go for one night," he said, looking at her with his deep grey eyes, someone getting greyer.

"I don't have to prove anything to you," she said.

He shrugged, taking a sip of his drink. "Then you can't."

"I can!"

"I don't believe you."

"I don't care if you believe me or not. I'm not doing it."

He didn't say anything; he just shrugged.

Ginny fumbled with her purse. She hated the way he thought of her. Someone who was afraid to take risks, someone who was too conservative. She wanted to prove him wrong.

She whirled around and grabbed the drink of some guy who was waiting for it. It was a small cup, but she didn't care. She drank it one gulp and sputtered as it went down her throat.

"One more, please," she said, as Malfoy stared at her in surprise.

She drank down another one, and then another one and then another one when she started giggling.

"Woo!" she screamed and jumped of the stool.

Malfoy stared after her, as she disappeared.

Five minutes later, he heard someone on the mini stage with a mike.

"Excuse me?!" someone yelled.

Draco turned around and joined the people who were standing on the stage.

"Hey! Shut that music off, right now!" the person screamed.

Draco winced; it sounded a lot like Weasley. It sounded like she was going to make a scene.

Draco made his way to front of the crowd as people and stared at Weasley.

The first word that came to Draco's mind was, hot. Then it was crazy.

Ginny stood on the stage with a mike in her hand. She had transfigured her shirt so now it was a white sparkly halter-top. She was still wearing the black leather pants, but they seemed tighter now. Her hair was out and flowed down her shoulders. It was black and straight and shiny as well. Her glasses were gone and her eyes appeared huge in the spotlight.

He couldn't believe that that girl was Ginny Weasley. She looked so different from the Weasley he was used to seeing every day. She stood with more confidence and was smiling for once, even though she was under the influence of alcohol.

"Helloo, Ladies and Gentleman! How are you this fine evening?" she asked.

Everyone hooted and screamed out, "Great!"

"A friend told me tonight that I don't know how to have fun. Well, he's not exactly a friend, you see," she laughed. "I don't know what he is. Oh wait! He's my boss!"

Everyone laughed and she continued, "So, does it look like I'm having fun or not?"

"Yes!" everyone hooted.

"So, I'm going to give some live entertainment, tonight, so we can all have fun together! What do you guys say?"

Everyone was going crazy and Draco didn't know what to do. He couldn't get up on stage because them Peacock would recognize him and their mission was going to die, as it was doing right now, not to mention.

"I'm going to sing you guys a song! Ready?" she asked, clearly unaware of she was doing.

Draco did not believe this was Ginny, the Ginny that was shy and sensitive and quiet. This Ginny was loud, confident and fun loving. It was crazy.

"It's actually a few lines from a slow song I'm sure all of you have heard," she said.

Then she began to sing. "Every night in my dreams, I feel you, I see you. That is how I know you go on...far across the distance and spaces between us; you have come to show you go on. Near, far wherever you are. I believe that the heart does go on...Once more, you open the door, and you're here in my heart and my heart does go and on..."

As she sang, Draco moved closer to Peacock and heard him say in to his cell phone, "No, not tonight. There's some crazy girl who's gone drunk. It's way too crowded here anyways, I'll call you tomorrow about it."

Then he turned around and left the club.

Draco smiled a bit. At least he didn't have to work now; then he frowned. He had no idea what their next step was.

He sighed and looked around the club for Weasley. There was no sight of her and the loud music was back on with everyone dancing.

He looked around the club and found her to be dancing with two guys. Draco's mouth was open as he stared at her dancing; no dirty dancing was the right word for it.

Ginny Weasley was dancing like she had been born to dance. He body was pressed between the two guys who looked like they were having a blast.

"Hey, Malfoy!" she called, jogging up to him. She smiled and her eyes shined. This was the first time Draco had seen a smile on her face that actually lit up her eyes. Every smile that he had seen before (which were very few, by the way) looked like it was pasted on her face. It looked real enough, from afar but once you looked closer at her you could see that her eyes showed the real story. Not that they ever showed her true emotions. No her eyes were always heavily guarded, so that not even a smile could light up the corners of them.

"This is the guy I was talking about," she said, introducing him to her friends. "He's my friend, well actually my boss. "She giggled.

Draco gaped at her; Ginny Weasley actually giggled; like the girl that she was. He didn't know what to find surprising, the drinking, the singing, the dancing or the giggling. But he had a feeling he would be surprised even more.

The guys nodded at him and Malfoy said to Ginny, "Let's leave. Our mission is terminated."

"Terminated?" She wrinkled her nose. "Speak plain and simple English, for us country folk to understand," she said in a country accent, and then she giggled again.

Draco groaned. "Our mission is cancelled. It's gone down the drain, because of you, may I add."

"Because of me?" She looked surprised. "What did you do?"

"You got drunk and made a big show."

She flipped her long shiny black hair over her shoulder and pointed a finger at him. "Excuse me, Mr Malfoy. But as I recall it, you were the one who told me to have fun and enjoy. And now you're telling me to leave! No way. If you want to leave, be my guest. But I'm not leaving. I am not!" She screamed.

Draco sighed. Great, this was his entire fault basically. Now he had a drunk girl on his hands, and not any drunk girl either. A Weasley.

"So sorry about that," he said, "but you'd better leave now before you throw up your dinner, which would be all the food you've ever eaten."

She had turned around and was away from him, but when she heard the insult she turned back around.

"Did you just insult me?" she asked.

He smirked and shrugged. "Are you coming or not?"

"No!" she said and she turned back around.

He grabbed her hand and suddenly the music stopped.

Ginny looked around and saw people forming around her and Draco.

She looked at him with raised eyebrows

He let go of her hand and then stepped back from her. Then he gave her his hand, palm up.

Ginny stared at it and then took it. The music started back up, but it was a different song this time. One without words and just music.

Draco took her hand and danced. Ginny didn't know what to do, but then she could feel her body moving without her mind telling it what to do.

She danced like she had never before, not feeling self-conscious or even nervous. She felt like she was free and the sky was her limit. She could do whatever she wanted.

Three hours later, Ginny was flopped on a stool while Draco looked for her.

"Where did you go?" he asked her once he found her.

She didn't move or even speak.

"Do you want to leave now?" he asked her.

She nodded; a small nod.

"What am I supposed to do, carry you or something?" he asked her, as she sat frozen in place.

She sighed and then tried to get up. She wobbled and Draco took over. He made her rest her head on his shoulder (or rather his chest, since she was so short) and wrapped his arm around her waist.

"This should keep from getting drunk again," he muttered, annoyed that now he had a Weasley with a hangover on his hands.

They left the club at one o'clock in the morning and Draco saw that it was a full moon outside. He was glad he had magic-ed Ginny's jacket on her without anyone seeing, as it was very cold tonight.

"Do you want to go home?" he asked her.

She was still drunk; he could see that from the glassy look in her eyes. "No," she whispered. "Can we please just walk outside for a bit, my head hurts a lot."

He nodded and they headed over to a park with a trail around it.

They walked around the park, with Draco's arm still around her waist.

"That was some dancing back there, Weasley," he said. "I never knew you could dance like that."

She smiled up at him. "You were pretty amazing yourself; I never knew you knew how to dance like that either."

"Now you know."

After a few minutes of silence, he asked her, "How do you feel?"

She answered, "Like my head's going to explode."

"Do you want to sit?" he asked, pointing to the bench.

"Sure."

They sat down and Ginny said in a small voice, "Sorry about ruining your mission."

He shrugged. "We'll get him next time."

She peered at him and then said, "Who are you and what have you done with Malfoy?"

He smirked.

She smiled at him. "You seem different."

He looked into her eyes. Right now they seemed unguarded. "You seem different too."

She shrugged. "Well I danced a lot. Did you see the move where I fell down, but then got back up and made it look like some crazy move? And then at the end, when you were supposed to take my hand and turn me around, but you missed it but then you did that cool thing with your legs to make it seem like it was a cool move. And at the end, everyone was clapping and cheering for us? Did you see it?" Right now she was talking a mile a minute; a speed Malfoy had never witnessed her to talk that fast in all the time he had known her. She looked happy and excited and was laughing.

"It was so much fun," she said, laughing again. "I never knew dancing could be so much fun! And getting drunk too! I should do it more often." She laughed and smiled.

Draco knew he shouldn't encourage the habit, but for once he just had to laugh at her last statement.

She was still talking though. "Maybe I shouldn't get drunk again. I mean what if Sarah finds out?" Her eyes grew wide. "What if she yells at me?"

He raised his eyebrows at her in question.

"Sarah's my healer, for when my diabetes feels like being a pain in the arse." She giggled again. "A pain in the arse! I never said that before! Doesn't it sound hilarious?"

He frowned and said, "Diabetes?"

She nodded, surely like it was something to be proud of. "Yup, since.... hmm.... Since I was eighteen. I got it on my birthday! Hey doesn't that sound like a nice present to get for your birthday? It's so weird, don't you think?" she asked him. "It's like a present I get to keep forever and ever and ever. It won't ever go away! Never, ever. There's no receipt for it either. I can't return it." She shrugged. "Oh well, I guess I'll have to live with it. Hey! Let's play ring around the rosy!"

She got up and said, "Come on Draco! You've just got to, it's so much fun!" She took his hand and pulled him up.

Draco stared at her, unable to believe what he was witnessing. He was surprised and shocked and annoyed all at the same time.

"Take my hands," she instructed him as she took his. Her hands were cold against his warm ones.

She said, "Ring around the rosy, a pocket full of posy, husha husha, we all fall down." They want in a circle while holding hands and then fell down in the grass.

She giggled with pure happiness. "This is so much fun. I've had so much fun with you today, Draco."

He didn't know what to say. Weasley was someone completely different when she was drunk. He had a feeling that she had had diabetes though.

"So do your parents know?" he asked her.

"About what?"

"About your diabetes."

She was playing with a blade of grass now, but when he asked her that question, she dropped it and looked at him. Her eyes were serious now and had lost her happiness.

"No," she said. "My family's dead, remember? Two days after my b-day, my mum died and Ron never found out."

He couldn't say anything; he just stared into her solemn dark brown eyes. There was so much there that he had never seen before. So much pain, so much damage, so much hurt.

And then it was gone; just like that.

"Hey!" she said again, he eyes glazing over with happiness. "Remember hot hairstyles? And feisty fairytales?" She giggled with pure glee and rolled onto her back, lying in the grass.

"I remember. I thought you didn't remember," he reminded her.

"I was drunk that day," she giggled when she said that.

Weasley, you're drunk now."

"No, Mr. Draco Malfoy, I was drunk then, now I'm...clean. No that's what you say for drugs...what's the word?" She thought. "Oh well, I'm not drunk."

He smiled a bit, sitting next to her in the grass.

She suddenly got up and said, "Oh my god! Guess what? My friend, Neville and Medea are getting engaged! And also, my brother and Hermione are having another baby! Harry and Luna are also having a baby! Isn't that nice?"

He shrugged. "Are you happy?"

"I'm happy...but I'm alone, Draco. So terribly alone," she whispered, looking at the stars.

"What do you mean? I'm right beside you."

She turned to look at him, and this time her eyes looked like freshly cut wounds. All the pain was there, the suffering, the loneliness, multiplied by ten though now.

"I'm alone in my life. I have no one and I probably never will."

He looked at her. "What the hell are you talking about, Weasley? You have your brother and your friends, don't you?"

She giggled. "I have friends?"

He gave her a look. "Then who were you talking about just now?"

"They are...my friends," she said. "But not really, you know? I mean they're my friends but we're not close. They have their own lives and they're much too busy for me. They don't know that I stay awake until one o'clock at night and roam the city. They don't know that I have diabetes or that I starve for days. They don't know that I cry myself to sleep every day and that I hate myself."

Draco had been staring ahead of him, but when she said that, he looked over at her.

She was staring in the distance, with her black hair getting blown lightly by the wind.

There was something different in her eyes right now. Something completely unreadable. It was like all of her pain was pouring out of her eyes and onto the grass for him to read it.

"Do you want to go home now?" he asked her.

Big, fat tears dropped out of her eyes, rolling down her cheeks. She nodded softly.

He stood up and helped her to her feet.

"Ready?" he asked her, putting his arms around her, as they got ready to apparate.

More silent tears poured out and the pain with them. Draco became concerned now, something clearly was wrong with her. Maybe she was feeling the after effects of the alcohol.

"What's wrong?"

She shook her head, but more tears poured out. "It's just that...I'm so alone and no one cares about me. I'm getting home at two in the morning and there's no one there to worry about me or to ask me why I've been out so late. Everyone's gone now and I'm the only left. It's like they all abandoned me."

She buried her face into his chest and hugged him tightly.

Draco just stared at the top of her head in awe.

He didn't know that there could be so much pain inside a person; he didn't know Weasley had the capability of feeling so many things.

He then wrapped his arms around and her, and apparated to her house.

When they got there, Draco had a hard time of prying Ginny away from him.

"No, Draco. Please don't leave me. I'll die if you leave me, just like everyone else," she sobbed into his chest.

Obviously she was still drunk, because she was hugging him tightly and sobbing into his arms.

He tried to push her away but she wouldn't let go.

"No, please, Draco! Don't!"

"Ginny, I'm only going to take you to your bedroom. You need to sleep," he reasoned with her.

She just sobbed harder. "I don't have anyone, Draco. Please don't leave me now."

He finally got her away from him and took her hand.

"I'm not going anywhere, Weasley. Just calm down," he said.

"Stop calling me Weasley!" she sobbed. "I know I'm a Weasley, but my name is Ginny! You've always called me by my last name like Ginny's not good enough for you. Only Weasley is and you say it like some curse word. I'm sorry I'm a Weasley!" she cried. She collapsed onto to the ground and sobbed into her hands.

Draco sighed, this was what he deserved for getting her drunk.

He whipped out his wand and levitated her. He took her to her bedroom and magically changed her clothes.

He put her in bed, but she wouldn't let go of his hand.

She didn't say anything but her eyes looked desperate and she cried uncontrollably.

"Don't leave me," she whispered.

He put a finger to her lips and said, "I won't. I'm not going anywhere. I promise."

She stopped crying but wouldn't let go of his hand. "Please stay."

He nodded and then magically changed his clothes, into his boxers and a white t-shirt.

He got into bed with her and she hugged him tightly.

Draco Malfoy smirked slightly, as he thought of being in a bed with Weasley but then frowned at himself, when he heard her sobbing softly against him.

Author notes: so...? what'd you think? what do you think the hangover's gonna be like?
