Chapter 2: Houses
Hermione lifted a heavy box and made her way through the chaos that was her new home. Hermione’s fiancé, Charles, and herself just bought a new house and with the wedding less than a month they thought it was about time to move everything in.
Charles was not there at the moment; instead, Hermione’s mother helped her put everything into place. Hermione often found Charles wasn’t around much to help. He was a doctor at muggle hospital working with intensive care patients. Hermione had met him at that hospital were she also worked. Her intelligence landed her a job doing lab research and despite the fact she worked in a muggle hospital, her boss was a wizard. Her section had been developed to produce medicine both beneficial to muggles and wizards alike for they had discovered magic couldn’t fix everything.
Hermione met Charles nine years ago when she worked as an intern at the hospital. After two years of flirting Charles finally asked her out and they had been dating ever since then. Two years ago he proposed to her and after spending so much of her life with him agreed willingly. Her mother was ecstatic and knew he was good man but also thought of the small fortune that came with him. Of course, Hermione cared nothing about his money, in her mind she knew Charles was the best man for her but her heart seemed to wonder back to some one from her past, Harry Potter.
Hermione took a seat in the box filled kitchen with her mother who was eating breakfast. Just than an owl flew in the open window and dropped a scroll in Hermione’s lap.
“Is that the paper dear?”
“Yes mum.” She unrolled the Daily Prophet and began to leaf through it when an article caught her eye. It read “Potter’s new Pad”. Hermione’s heart sped up as she read of the boy, now a man she hadn’t spoken to in years. It seemed Harry was living in a small town just outside of London. Hermione lived in London herself and knew the location was no more than 20 minutes away by train . “Mum look, Harry’s in the paper!”
“Oh really what’s he done now, defeated more bad guys, broke more young, naïve girls’ hearts’?”
“You know he didn’t break my heart, we both agreed it was for…” she was cut off by her mother
“For the best. You’ve told me that a million times but why haven’t you heard from him? If he really cared for you he would have never left you in the first place. Now is not the time to remember stupid school girl ‘romances’, you’ve got a wedding to plan and a fiancé who loves you. I thought you were smarter than that young lady. Have I taught you nothing?”
“But Mum maybe…”
“NO! Hermione I won't hear anymore of it. Now lets go unpack a few more boxes and no more rubbish about Harry Potter.”

Hermione thought back to that morning a few days ago. She now sat in train supposedly on her way to a nice little town somewhere on the outskirts of London were she was going to relax before her wedding. In all truth to her Mother and Charles she was heading to a small town, but her destination was to see Harry. Once she reached the train station she would apparate just outside his house and from there… not even Hermione knew what would happen…..
