Here you are, Chapter 03. Hope you enjoy! Remember to Review! Dedicated to Richard Harris. RIP Also dedicated to my friends, family, and those who reviewed the first 2 chapters.

Ginny had three pages left of her book when the train pulled to a stop. Snapping the book shut, Ginny hopped up and began to make sure she had all her things that she had brought on the train. As Ginny stepped off the train she could hear Hagrid's low, rumbling voice over the hubbub of the students.

"Firs years! O'er here firs years!" he said loudly, his head towering over all the other students. He turned and saw Ginny walking alone and called out to her,

"Hello Miz Weasley! I think Harry and the others are up in the front o' the crowd!"

"Ok, thanks Hagrid!" she shouted over the racket

"No problem, Miz Weasley!"

Ginny smiled, she liked how Hagrid called her 'Miz Weasley.' He called everyone else by their first names, but he called her 'Miz Weasley.' It had a nice ring to it.

Ginny made her way to the carriages, which would take her to the castle. Ginny sat in a carriage with Colin, Dennis, and another Gryffindor fourth year, Katherine or "Kat" for short. Ginny stared at the castle, which never failed to take her breath away. Colin was talking to Denis about the difference between muggle and wizard cameras, and Ginny, who could care less, stared at the white fairy-tale castle with a happy expression on her face.

As Ginny walked into the castle she could see the first years boats about three yards away from the shore of the lake. Ginny went to her respective table and sat next to Colin and Hermione across from Harry and Ron. Harry and Ron were avidly discussing professional Quidditch.

"Harry," Ron said, "the Chudley Cannons will win this year! How could anyone think otherwise?"

"Oh maybe because they haven't won a game in ages! Puddlemere United is the team to watch!" Harry argued.

"Oh please!" Ron snorted, "Puddlemere hasn't got any decent Chasers, The Cannon's at least have a great team!"

Ginny turned to face Hermione who said to her, "Honestly, you would think that that's all they cared about! Puttymore United or the Chunky Cannons, who cares!?"

Ginny giggled, "I think you mean the Puddlemere United and Chudley Cannons."

"Isn't that what I said?"

"No you said.... never mind," Ginny said turning her attention to the Sorting Ceremony which had just begun.

Ginny smiled as the first years ran nervously to the stool and pulled the hat over their eyes. Ginny smiled at the incoming Gryffindors as they sat at the end of the table, relieved to have gotten the whole thing over with.

When they were on the M's Ginny looked over at Harry. She stared at the face she'd already memorized over and over dreamily. She could describe his face perfectly, down to every last pore. The way his green eyes twinkled when he was happy, how his face crinkled when he smiled, how he had a few freckles across the bridge of his nose. His glasses always seemed to rest perfectly on his nose and his skin was so pale. Not as pale as her own, but pale nonetheless. Of course his scar, the pink line that was shaped like a lightning bolt on his forehead. His messy black hair covered it at the moment, but Ginny could picture it perfectly.

Ginny let out a soft inaudible sigh. Ginny tore her eyes away from him and looked just to see the last little kid lift the hat off his head and run to the Hufflepuff table. Ginny saw Dumbledore get up and clear his throat. When the hall was silent he began his announcements,

"Good day everyone! It is a pleasure to have you here at Hogwarts! Mr. Filch has asked me to remind you all that the curfew is still 11:30 p.m. For all first years and some older students as well," Dumbledore said winking over at the Gryffindor table, "the Forbidden Forest, is, well forbidden." Everyone laughed politely, well everyone except the Slytherins. Dumbledore continued, "A bit of warning, do not swim in the lake. Also Quidditch is back in play."

This received several cheers from the teams of each house. Dumbledore smiled and proceeded to tell the announcements, " Even though we will not be having the Triwizard tournament, we will be having a Yule Ball for all years."

Everyone cheered except the first years who, looking slightly puzzled, asked the older students what a Yule Ball was.

"Two more announcements!" Dumbledore said over the cheering. Everyone once again feel silent.

"First, this year, all those who haven't already done so will be taking a Muggle studies class." Ginny was happy, because she was planning to take it again anyway. The class was so much fun last year. This did not reflect most of the other students' reactions. Many of them were shocked while others, mainly Slytherins, were practically livid. Ginny could hear Draco, who was protesting the loudest, shouting things about crazy old men, how is father would be enraged, etc, etc.

Harry leaned over to whisper to Ron and Hermione, while Ginny listened pretending to be watching the commotion.

"I heard that Dumbledore wants everyone to know at least the basics about Muggles, in case any of us ever need to go in hiding in the muggle world.

"Bloody perfect," Ron said irritated. Unlike his father and sister, he did not care for Muggles. Why he didn't was beyond Ginny. "Muggles do have the best fashion, so many varieties and-"

Ginny's thoughts were cut off as Colin poked her ribs and whispered, "He's going to announce the new Defense Against Dark Arts teacher!"

Ginny looked up at the head table intently.

Dumbledore now smiled at the quiet room. Everyone was quite interested on who the Big Bad Newbie was.

Dumbledore announced, "May I now introduce, Mrs. Arabella Figg."

Ginny looked at the elderly lady who now stood up and smiled grandly. Ginny hadn't noticed her before; it was like she made herself invisible without a cloak or something. Ginny inspected this new teacher and thought to herself, "She doesn't look like she could protect herself from a moth! She's like those little old ladies who bake mounds of cookies and stuff you with them!"

She looked at all the other students and saw they apparently thought the same, all except Harry. Ginny looked at his confused face and heard him mutter under his breath, "But... it can't be!" Ginny was about to ask what couldn't be when Hermione beat her to it.

"What can't be Harry?" she asked.

He said to her and Ron, "I'll tell you guys later."

"So he can tell my brother and Hermione but he can't tell me?" Ginny thought, "Oh, don't worry about Ginny! Leave her out of everything! Ginny is no better than a lamp post!" Ginny began to argue in her mind, "What's with you Gin ol' girl? I'm all moody and cranky, maybe I'm not getting enough sleep."

Now Ron interrupted her thoughts, "Hey Ginny, aren't you going to eat?" Ginny looked at he once empty plate and realized it was filled with food. Normally Ginny would've dug in, but at the moment Ginny felt like food would make her throw up. Ginny shook her head negative.

"Well then can I have yours?" Ron asked.

"Yea, go ahead," Ginny said pushing her plate to him.

"You know Ron, you can be quite a pig sometimes," Hermione said.

"All a part of being a guy," Ron retorted.

"Oh please!" Hermione exclaimed, "You don't see Harry stuffing himself like that!"

At that moment Harry leaned over to Hermione, motioning to her plate and asked, "Are you going to finish that?"

"Yes, I am!" Hermione say vehemently and began to viciously stab her steak into bite sized bits. "What bloody pigs!" she muttered, as Ron and Harry laughed, high fiveing each other. Ginny giggled.

Soon after, everyone began to follow their house Prefects toward the House area. Ginny and the rest of the Gryffindors followed Hermione, Ron, Harry, and the other Prefects to the Gryffindor tower. When they got to portrait of the fat lady in the pink dress Hermione said, "The password is 'Mellow Yellow'" The portrait swung open and everyone climbed in. "Boys to the stairs on the right, girls to the stairs on the left," Harry said and everyone climbed to their dormitory. Ginny stopped at the door that said 'Fourth years.' Kat was already in there along with Celeste and Elaine, the other two Gryffindor fourth years.

There was a chorus of "Hey Gin!" Ginny said hello back to each of them. The three of them had a bond like Ron, Hermione, and Harry. Between these to groups of friends Ginny felt quite alone in Hogwarts. While Colin and Denis were nice enough, the three of them didn't quite make a group. Ginny wondered how on earth she felt so lonely surrounded by so many people, while she slipped into her PJ's. When Ginny took down her bun, her hair fell into a part hat showed her white lock of hair. Ginny twirled it around her finger, smiling.

"I love this one white streak," she said to herself.

Ginny crawled into bed, the other three girls already asleep. Yet again, Ginny had the usual nightmare and turned completely void of color. When Ginny awoke, the other girls were still sleeping soundly on their beds. They didn't even wake up when Ginny was in the shower. They were still slumbering peacefully when Ginny left for breakfast. As Ginny stepped out of the Gryffindor common room, Ginny realized that practically the whole castle was still asleep.

"There'll be no one eating breakfast, I'll have the Great Hall to myself," Ginny thought happily. When she got there, only one other person was eating. Ginny looked to see whom else had waken up this early. It was none other than, Draco Malfoy. (A/N: Of course! Who else?") Ginny braces herself for what would probably be an interesting breakfast.

Authors Notes: The line: 'Ginny is no better than a lamp post' is from the play: The Hunchback of Notre Dame. (Well, the name Ginny isn't in there, but you get what I mean.) Well, a small cliffie, not so bad right? The next chapter should be out in a week or so. I can't promise it, but I'm going to try to make the next chapter longer. Thanks to all who reviewed!!
