Chapter 1
Only two weeks to go until he would be seventeen. Two weeks until he would be able to do magic away from school, but that did mean that he would still have to endure two more weeks in the Dursleys company.
Harry went down to cook breakfast. Half an hour later Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon and Dudley made their way into the kitchen. Harry quietly put breakfast on the table and sat down and began to eat.
Uncle Vernon opened his mail, snorting every so often. Finally he put down his mail and cleared his throat. "Petunia and I will be going on a cruse on Friday. I need a much-deserved break from work and we are going on a cruise for three weeks. Dudley, we already discussed this with you and you said that you would prefer to stay at home."
"Don't worry sweetums," exclaimed Aunt Petunia, "we'll phone you when we can and we'll bring you lots of nice presents, and you can have some of your friends over to stay if you want."
"Yes, Dudley's a man now. He will be able to look after the house," said Uncle Vernon, smiling jovially. "And you," said Uncle Vernon turning to Harry, "will do exactly what Dudley tells you to and will make sure that the house and garden stay clean and tidy."
Harry's heart leapt. Three whole weeks without Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon! He'd still have to put up with Dudley, but Dudley didn't care about what he did every second and wouldn't monitor him every second.
Harry was determined that this summer was going to be different. He was going to have some fun. At the beginning of his sixth year he had converted some galleons into pounds and put it into a bank account so that he would have some money to spend over the summer. He now had £5,000 of muggle money to use as he say fit that the Dursleys' would never know about, it hadn't even appeared to have made a dent in his Gringotts account!
Dudley smiled nastily at Harry. "You'll do whatever I say, Potter."
"Yes, Dudley," said Harry gloomily, even though he was smiling inside.
~*~
Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon left early on Friday morning.
"Dudley, we've got you a credit card for our account so that you can buy anything that you need while we're away. Anything you need," said Uncle Vernon.
"Thanks, Dad."
"Ohh, my baby, my dinky Duddykins. I'm going to miss you," wailed Aunt Petunia, with tears trickling down her cheeks.
"Come on, Petunia, we have to go on." And with that they were gone.
"Now, Potter," said Dudley rounding on Harry. "Piers is coming over soon and I'm having a party and I want you gone."
"That's not a problem," said Harry smiling, and with that Harry dashed into they house then dashed out and walked away from Privet Drive.
~*~
Harry went into the centre of Surrey and got some money out of the bank. He was sick of wearing Dudley's too big hand-me-downs, it was high time he had something of his own. He had plenty of money and this year he was going to spend some of it. The problem was he didn't know where to go or what sort of clothes to buy.
In the end he decided to ring Hermione, she would know what to do. He went to a phone took her number out of his pocked and called the number that was written on a scrap of paper.
"Hello."
"Hello, can I speak to Hermione please?"
"Yes. Who's calling please?"
"Harry."
"Just a minute, I'll get her for you."
Harry waited.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Hermione, it's Harry," said Harry a bit nervously.
"Harry! It's brilliant to hear from you! But why are you calling me? I don't think that you've ever phoned me." said Hermione.
"Well I wanted to talk to you," said Harry, still sounding nervous.
"Uh-hu," replied Hermione.
"And I'm really stuck and want some advice," said Harry all in a rush.
"On what? It sounds important."
"I'm trying to buy clothes and I'm stuck in the middle of town and I have no idea where to go or what to buy!"
"Oh, Harry. I thought that this was something really important!" Laughed Hermione. "You know what? Look around for a bit now, buy some things if you like them, ask sales people and I'll drive down to see you tomorrow and help. Ohh! I didn't tell you did I!"
"What?" Asked Harry.
"I passed my driving test yesterday!"
"Oh, well done!"
"Anyway how does that sound?"
"That sounds great."
"I'll give you my mobile number so you can call me if I get a bit lost. It's 07765 309386."
"Okay I was going to get a mobile today, so I'll call you later and give you the number and we can arrange a time to meet."
"Okay. I'll talk to you later. Bye, Harry."
"Bye, Hermione," said Harry putting the phone down. Now to buy a mobile. It couldn't be that hard thought Harry.
~*~
An hour later Harry finally came out of the phone shop. As soon as he had stepped into the shop he had immediately revised his opinion that buying a phone would be easy. Who would have guessed that there would be so many different mobiles and different networks and contracts to choose from? He'd bought a pay as you go Nokia in the end on O2, because you got free texts with it. Now all he had to do was learn to send a text, his years in the wizarding world had not prepared him well to use the wonders of modern technology.
Right, thought Harry, I've got a phone, now I need to at least go and look for some clothes.
Harry looked around and headed into the nearest clothes shop that he could see. Looking at the racks and racks of clothes Harry sighed. This is going to be hard work. But new clothes were vital to his new plan for the coming year. I'd better get started.
Harry walked to the nearest rack and pulled off a few pairs of likely looking trousers and moved to the next to try to find some shirts. This is going to be a long afternoon, he thought.
~*~
Harry spent the night at a hotel near the town centre, not wanting to go back to No. 4 and join Dudley's party. He had money and he wanted to enjoy it. He had arranged to meet Hermione at 11 o'clock at the entrance to the hotel and was waiting for her to appear.
Looking through the glass he saw her approaching. He smiled and then he saw her turn and talk to a guy he'd never seen before. Just then Hermione turned and saw him. She lifted her hand and waved.
"Hi, Harry," smiled Hermione coming in and giving him a hug.
"Hermione," Harry replied. "Who's this?" he asked turning to look at her friend. "I'm Harry," he said holding out his hand.
The guy took it. "I'm Paul, nice to meet you."
"Paul, I just have to talk to Harry real quick," said Hermione puling Harry after her.
"Who is he and why did you bring him?" whispered Harry annoyed.
"He's a muggle friend of mine who's recently moved here. I asked him to come because he's excellent taste in clothes and men's fashion is really not my fort. Anyway I haven't seen him for a while and seen as I was coming to visit you I thought it would be a great idea to see him as well," replied Hermione testily.
"Okay, okay. I'm sorry, I just thought that I was going to see just you," said Harry smiling at her. He turned to look at Paul. "He is kind of cute I guess," he said shrugging.
"He is indeed, but it's unlike you to say so. What's gotten into you?" she asked looking curious.
"I've got a new outlook on life. Shall we go?" He said offering his arm.
"We shall." She said linking arms with Harry.

Chapter 2
"Harry, I don't understand how all you bought yesterday was underwear!" said Hermione sounding a bit miffed. "I told you to go out and buy some stuff you liked."
"Well it's not like I go clothes shopping all that often!" exclaimed Harry, trying to defend himself.
"Hermione," Paul intervened, "give him a break," he said smiling at Harry. Harry smiled back, thankful for the reprieve. "He's obviously in need of training." Harry stopped smiling, that sounded ominous.
"It's not like I didn't buy anything," Harry started, "I did buy a mobile." Harry produced his mobile as evidence, "and I spent a long time in the shop while the guy explained to me how all the different functions worked. I did look at clothes but I didn't buy anything because I thought that you might yell at me for buying the wrong thing or making a fashion mistake or wear clashing colours or something like that." Harry put on his best puppy dog face. "Forgive me?"
Hermione looked stuck.
"I'll buy you lunch at a fancy restaurant."
"Okay, I guess."
"Excellent," said Paul, "now lets get on with the shopping." He grabbed Harry's arm, "So what sort of funds do you have for our trip and what sort of stuff do you need?"
Harry smiled and told him.
"This just gets better and better."
"Oh, one other thing. I need to buy a computer. But I think that's Hermione's department." Harry took a deep breath. "I'm ready," he said.
"Good," and with that they walked into the nearest shop.
~*~
Finally after their five-hour shopping trip they all went back to Paul's house, which was still a bit of a mess to tell the truth, he'd only moved in a month ago. Boxes scattered the hallway and some areas looked strangely empty. None of them had wanted to split up, they'd been having so much fun. Harry had reluctantly agreed to put on a fashion show of his new clothes, he knew why he'd agreed to do it but he needed to put up some form of protest for the others to see.
"Wait, wait! Before we start we need snacks," said Hermione grinning.
"'Mione, I'm not a form of entertainment!" exclaimed Harry. "You're not watching a film!"
"Well I'm sure this will be just as good, you do have a lovely body." Harry frowned.
"Definitely," agreed Paul. Then he seemed to realise what he'd said and quickly left for the kitchen.
"Well in that case," Harry said to Hermione, "Please make yourself comfortable."
"What are you going to do?" asked Hermione smiling.
Harry smiled dangerously. "Ahh-a-ahh. You'll have to wait and see."
"You've changed Harry." She smiled, "I like it."
~*~
Paul soon returned and he and Hermione sat in the lounge, while Harry went to change in Paul's bedroom. Harry came out time and time again showing off his new outfits, all of which fitted him properly and you could now tell that he had a well-defined body, as it was no longer covered by clothes that were five sizes to big for him.
"So what do you think?" asked Harry as he stood in front of them in his last outfit.
"Much better, Harry, you look amazing," replied Hermione.
Paul smiled at him, "They're good."
"Okay. Let me just get changed. Paul, can I talk to you for a second?"
"Sure," said Paul getting up and following Harry to his room.
Harry closed the door behind him. "You don't mind if I get changed while we talk do you?" asked Harry sounding innocent. This place is a bit of a mess. How can this guy live like this? There's so much stuff lying around I'm surprised he can move without falling over. Harry thought scornfully.
Paul swallowed. "No, no. Go ahead."
"Thanks," said Harry, unbuttoning his dark blue shirt. "I was wondering if I could keep this stuff at your house until I turn seventeen a week on Wednesday?" Paul shook his head, watching Harry slowly unbuttoning his shirt. "Thanks Paul," said Harry coming closer to him.
Paul's eyes were fixed on Harry's chest, and he looked up as Harry came towards him. "What are you looking at?" Harry whispered in his ear. "Do you like it?" Paul didn't reply, just lifted his head to look at Harry's face.
Harry saw desire in Paul's eyes and moved even closer. "Do you want me?" he asked casually, as if the answer wasn't a forgone conclusion. Paul just nodded. Harry smiled at him. "Are you going to do anything about it?"
Paul slowly reached out and put his hand behind Harry's head running his fingers through his hair, bringing Harry's face close to his own. Harry put his hands on Paul's waist. "Well?"
Paul leaned towards Harry and kissed him. It was chaste, and then Paul pulled back, looking scared.
"What are you scared of Paul? Me? Don't be afraid," and then Harry pulled him towards him and kissed him hard, probing with his tongue until Paul opened his mouth. Paul moaned into his mouth, but Harry moved away.
"You'd better get back to Hermione," said Harry quietly as Paul moved towards him again.
"Harry," Paul whispered.
"I'll be down in a minute, we don't want her to get suspicious do we? Let me just get changed." Harry smiled reassuringly at him. "I'll talk to you later, unless you want to stay and watch."
"Urr, no, not yet. I'll see you in a minute?" It was a question.
"Yes," replied Harry, giving him a quick butterfly kiss, and Paul left the room.
~*~
After Paul shut the door Harry smiled to himself. Not bad, he thought, it was quite easy really, and I think I'm going to have fun with Paul. Phase 1 is in motion.
~*~
"Hey, Paul, you home?"
"Hey, Alex. Did you have fun at Tom's?" Paul asked his twelve-year-old brother, coming to see him in the kitchen.
"Yeah, it was great. I haven't seen him since last year."
"Hey, Paul," said Harry coming into the kitchen, "have you..."
"Oh my God!" exclaimed Alex. "Harry Potter!"
"Erm yeah," said Harry surprised. "Do I know you?" He frowned trying to think where he would have met the boy.
"I'm a second year Hufflepuff," exclaimed Alex bouncing up and down. "I wanted to meet you all last year, but I didn't get the chance."
"Wait, wait," said Paul holding up his hands, "you mean Harry goes to Hogwarts too." He asked his brother. He turned to Harry, "You're a wizard like Alex?"
Harry smiled and nodded, This can only make things easier, he thought.
Alex looked aghast. "Don't you remember me telling you about Harry Potter!"
"Paul can I get..." started Hermione coming into the kitchen. "Why is everyone staring at each other?" she looked a bit confused, an unusual look on Hermione.
"Hermione Granger!" exclaimed Alex. "I'm a second year Hufflepuff!"
Hermione smiled. "Nice to see you again Alex. I didn't know you went to Hogwarts."
Alex beamed at her, "We don't see a lot of the upper years that aren't in Hufflepuff."
"Everybody stop," said Paul, who was having a hard time taking all this information in. He looked at Harry and Hermione. "So you two both go to Hogwarts with Alex?" he said slowly.
"Yeah we're going into our seventh year," replied Hermione.
Paul looked at Alex, "Why were you talking about Harry if I should know him or something?"
"He's famous! How can you not remember me telling you this!" Alex then looked embarrassed, remembering that Harry was in the room with them. "Erm." Alex took a deep breath, "Can I have your autograph?" He looked pleadingly at Harry.
Harry did not look pleased and Hermione quickly intervened, she could see what was coming. "Alex, Harry hates being famous. You know that he never gives interviews and I don't think that he's ever given out a autograph before." She looked at Harry for conformation. Harry nodded.
"I've never given out an autograph yet. The only way you can acquire one is on a letter. Nobody out of my immediate circle has one."
"Oh," said Alex sounding very disappointed.
Paul held up his hands. "Wait." He turned to Harry. "You're famous?" he asked incredulously.
Harry looked at Hermione and Alex, "Will you excuse us for a second?" he asked as he pulled Paul out of the room.
Alex turned to Hermione. "You're seventeen, right?"
~*~
Harry pulled Paul up the stairs to Paul's bedroom and pulled him towards him kissing him. Paul tried to pull away but Harry was insistent. After a few seconds Paul gave in and started to relax into Harry. They kissed for a few minutes while Harry rehearsed in his head what he was going to say.
Harry pulled away smiling shyly at Paul. "Paul, if I'd told you I was famous would you have believed me?" Harry didn't wait for Paul to say anything but ploughed straight on. "I'm famous in the wizarding world and how could I tell you about that? I didn't know your brother was a wizard." He looked at Paul intently.
Paul sighed. "Yeah, I'm sorry I was just a bit confused." He smiled at Harry, "Forgive me?"
"Of course. Come here."
~*~
Paul went back down after a few minutes and Harry pulled out his mobile.
"Hello." A female voice answered.
"It's going well. He already knew about the wizarding world, but does not know about anything in it. I can still introduce him, but there won't be the normal initial disbelief, so things should progress quicker than we'd expected."
"Good. I'm still gathering the information we need and I'll email it to you when it's complete. Call me when phase 2 begins."
"Of course."
"And the subject?"
"Male, he looks good, but he seems to live in filth. There are dirty clothes scattered all over the room."
"Arrange to take him to London for your birthday. I'll meet you then."
"That shouldn't be a problem. I will need an update on your situation them."
"Yes."
Click. The phone went dead.
