Epilogue

Ginny's screams echoed through the halls of Malfoy Manor.

"Damnit! Why don't they do something? Am I paying those blithering idiots who call themselves mediwizards for nothing?" Draco Malfoy raged as he paced the hallway in front of his wife's room. Ron reached out and put a comforting arm around Draco's shoulders.

"It'll be fine, Draco," he said as Bill, Fred and George nodded sympathetically.

"Besides, she's got Mum with her. You needn't worry about a thing," said George.

"Yeah! Right! This from the guy who dug a trench in the floor by just pacing across it," retorted Fred. "Not that you should worry or anything," he said to Draco reassuringly.

"Draco, it's okay. Ginny will be fine," said Hermione gently. "Trust me, I've done this before." Draco smiled his first genuine smile since Ginny had gone into labour. The entire Weasley family had come together for the birth of Ginny's firstborn. Bill and Fleur had taken a week off from their jobs at Gringotts Bank; Charlie had flown in from Romania; Percy, though very fond of Ginny had been reluctant to take a week off from his Ministry - it was hard enough to take a day off when one was Minister of Magic, let alone a week - till Arthur Weasley had stepped in and told him to do whatever it took to take a week off, but be there. He sat in the hallway holding Penelope's hand wondering how he was going to cover the workload a week's absence from office would generate. Fred and George had closed their lucrative joke shop in favour of being there when another Weasley graced the world. Angelina and Katie were trying to make their own sets of twins sit in one place and! not poke the Malfoy family portraits. But Matthew and David and Andrea and Molly had different ideas.

"Sit down, Draco. You're going to wear out your legs if walk any more." Draco looked up and saw Harry leaning against the wall next to him. His forest green eyes a mixture of concern and anticipation. Draco smiled - being 'Uncle Harry' to a brood of Weasley children was a full time job.

"Thanks for coming Harry. You don't know how much this means to Ginny and me."

Harry smiled, "Wouldn't miss it for the world." And in his heart he knew that was true - some bonds, like the one he had with the Weasleys, like the one he had forged with Draco - were meant forever. And not even the prospect of Professor Snape taking over his Defence Against the Dark Arts classes could change that.

Ron, now an Auror, looked over from where he sat with Hermione, on leave from her job as Director of Muggle Relations at the Ministry, and their three-year-old daughter Diana, and smiled. Things had changed so much since their last year at Hogwarts. Fighting Voldemort together had forged a bond between Harry and Draco, which had matured into a strong friendship. It was hard to believe that Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter had become friends, but then it was hard to believe that the Malfoy they had known in school was the same one that stood before them now.

In the years that had followed the death of Voldemort and the gradual demise of the dark side, the Weasley family had made efforts to get to know Draco for Ginny's sake, as had he. And Ginny had watched from the sidelines as Draco made inroads into the heart of her family till he was as beloved as her brothers and Harry.

"Unca Harry?" Harry looked down at the insistent tugging at his pants. He smiled at his goddaughter as Diana scrunched up her nose and said, "Why is Unca Daco looking angly?"

But before Harry could explain to Diana why her "thecond favolite" uncle was looking like he was about to explode, Matthew and David, with the knowledge amassed in six years of life said with a superior smile, "'Coz Aunt Ginny is cooking a baby and Uncle Draco wants to help, but she won't let him."

Diana looked at her cousins in amazement as Draco and Harry laughed. Angelina called out to her sons in exasperation born out of experience. Draco reached down and picked Diana up. He twirled her in the air and then said as she laughed gleefully, "Uncle Draco is not angry Sweetheart. He's just worried about Aunty Ginny and the baby." Diana gurgled as Draco lifted her high up and twirled her once more before setting her down.

He turned to Harry, who smiled at him, when the cries of an infant reached the occupants of the hallway. Draco started towards the door, when Molly Weasley came out smiling.

"You have a son, Draco," she said as she hugged him. Before he could respond to that, Fleur came out of the room smiling.

"You have a daughter, Draco," she said.

Draco looked at his mother-in-law and sister-in-law in confusion, "Which is it?" he asked.

"Both," they replied in unison.

Fred and George let out a whoop of joy, as Draco looked on amazed, "Welcome to the club Draco!"

Draco shook his head and walked in to where his wife lay with their children. Ginny's tired face broke into a beautiful smile as Draco entered the room. He bent and kissed her gently on the forehead.

"I would like you to meet Arthur Harry and Cissa Malfoy," she said as Draco lifted his son and daughter in his arms and looked at them, perfection in every part of their tiny beings.

In the twenty-seven years of his life, Draco Malfoy had never been happier - except when Virginia Weasley had agreed to be his wife - than now as he looked at his children. The rest of the Weasley family and Harry watched, as Draco leaned down, looked into Ginny's melted cocoa eyes and whispered, "I love you Virginia Malfoy."
