Chapter 2: Ginny, The Vampire Slayer

"What do you mean she did magic?" Buffy asked Willow on the phone.

"She made her notebook or something fly to her from across the room."

"Are you sure you wasn't imagining it Will?" Buffy asked. Ginny was nice. She didn't want to have to pummel her.

**************

Two other vampires took Ginny, struggling and kicking. One vampire held a hand on her mouth, so all her screams were muffled. They reached a small ally near by. The vampires pushed Ginny into a fence. Ginny's elbow grazed the earth when she got pulled out of the house. She was bleeding.

"W-W-What d-do you want?" Ginny asked.

Some light from the streetlamp hit their faces.

"You're vampires," Ginny whispered, full of fear.

"Wow, you actually know what we are, red," Angelus said as he approached Ginny. "Buffy told you about us. Nice of her. Didn't really help you though. Did she tell you who I am?"

**************

"She knew the spell's name. And she said some kind of incantation.

And she had a wand," Willow said.

"A wand?" Buffy giggled. "What can you do with a wand?"

**************

Ginny took her wand from her pocket, immediately grateful she heeded the fake Moody's advice to take her wand to any unfamiliar place.

She pointed the wand at the heart of the vampire closest to her. Angelus laughed, yet stopped moving towards Ginny.

"Awww, how cute. Buffy taught you how to kill us and now you're going to stake us all!" Angelus said laughing, "you're gonna need something sharper than that little thing, red."

"Accio Branch!!" Ginny called with all her might, concentrating on a sharp branch on a tree 30 feet away. The branch snapped and freed itself from the tree and shot himself towards Ginny. And went through the vampire's rib cage, into his heart and out the other side till it touched Ginny's wand. The vampire turned into dust. Angelus and the other vampire sprang on Ginny.

"Petrificus Totalus!" Ginny shouted as she pointed her wands towards the second vampire. His arms shot to his sides, and his legs froze. He fell face forward in to the ground. Angel growled and threw a big garbage can at Ginny. Ginny pointed her wand at it.

"Reducto!!" The garbage can broke in to a thousand smithereens. She prepared her wand for another attack but Angel was quicker. He got to her and hit her. She fell to the floor and her wand flew out of her hand. She could taste blood in her mouth.

"I don't know Will. They don't seem that dangerous. Still, sleep with one eye open. We'll talk to Giles and that McGurgle person in the morning. Good night," Buffy hung up the phone. She went into the living room. She decided she would talk to Ginny about this now.

"Ginny!" Buffy called when she saw Ginny wasn't in the living room.

She began to get worried. Then she noticed a somewhat familiar envelope on the windowsill. Buffy wore a jacket, took a stake and sprinted out of the house.

"I have to admit you got it in ya red. I thought you'd be a much easier kill," Angelus stood next to Ginny as she scrambled on the ground, reaching for her wand. "It's better this way."

Just a few centimeters more... Ginny thought hopefully, as she stretched her hand out to get her wand...

Angel swooped down and grabbed Ginny's neck. "I can work up an appetite..." In one quick movement he picked her up by the neck and threw her back first into the fence. He began to move towards her. Ginny aimed a punch to Angel's face. He grabbed her hand and began twisting. Ginny began to cry, as she gave yelps of pain. He turned her around, and sent her head first in to the fence, so that her neck faced him. He opened his mouth. She could smell his breath. He moved towards her neck...

"You know, that really hurts Angel. Over me so quick? Already fooling around with other girls?"

Angel turned to look at Buffy. Usually Buffy wouldn't announce her presence, but she wanted Angel to leave Ginny already.

"Ennervate," a voice in the shadows whispered. The second vampire awoke with a start, and sprang towards Buffy. Angel turned back to Ginny, but she used his momentary lapse of concentration to squirm out of his grasp. Ginny began to run towards Buffy.

The second vampire reached Buffy, still a bit disoriented from the spell. Buffy kicked him in the face and was about to stake him, when he blocked her with one hand, and punched her in the face with the other. Buffy used the momentum of the punch and made a whole turn and hit the vampire in the face with her other hand. Surprised, he fell to the floor. This time Buffy was quicker than him and she managed to stake him.

As Ginny ran Angel pounced on her and pinned her to the ground. Ginny yelled. Buffy began to run towards her. Angel noticed Buffy's arrival.

"We'll definitely meet again, red," Angel said and kissed Ginny on the cheek. He got off her, ran to the fence, climbed above it and darted off in to the night.

"There you go..." Dean said as he pushed a cup of tea across the table towards Cho.

"Thanks," she said as she held the cup in her hand and took a cautious sip, checking if the tea wasn't too hot. After she made sure it won't burn her tongue, she began drinking. Cho tried to think of something to say but she couldn't think of anything. Reluctantly, Cho admitted to herself that she was quite pleased with her host. "More than pleased," she corrected herself. Cho had a great time spending the day with Dean; she remembered the nice park he showed her earlier, the way their shoulder's brushed when he showed her how to hold a pool stick and even the pictures he showed her from his school trip, where she also recognized Buffy and Xander. Sometimes she even began wondering if she finally found someone that could help her move on and away from the whole Harry fiasco. That was usually the part when she felt a sting of guilt. Cho still liked Harry. But she was, lacking another word, exasperated from their relationship. If you could call whatever they had a relationship. They tried being together several times, but usually it ended with a row. "Not always," a voice inside Cho's head argued, "sometimes it ended with a kiss..."

"Is something bothering you?" Dean asked with a slightly worried look on his face.

"Oh, it's nothing... Just some issues from back home," Cho smiled.

"You wanna talk about it?" Dean asked tentatively.

For a second Cho considered telling Dean what's on her mind:

"Yes. You see I really like you, But I also really like Harry. Buy my relationship with him is somewhat unstable because he's very jealous and insecure and I'm too sentimental. Not to mention the circumstances in which we began our relationship - half a year after Harry witnessed my boyfriend's murder!"

She sighed.

"Thanks, Dean, but I won't bore you with my problems..."

"Anyway, you're far from home now. Just let it go. Enjoy the trip," Dean gave her a reassuring smile.

"Works in theory..." Cho mumbled under her breath.

"What?" Dean asked.

"Oh nothing," Cho answered.

Dean shrugged and drank some of his tea.

"Say, Cho, do you feel like watching a movie?"

Cho's eyes lit up.

"I'd love to! I never saw a movie before!!!"

Dean eyed her suspiciously. "You're not serious."

Cho realized she said something wrong and blushed.

"We don't have a lot of cinemas where I come from..." Cho said apologetically.

"What, did you come from an Amish village?"

Cho had no idea what an Amish village was. She just shook her head from side to side. Dean realized Cho was beginning to feel weird.

"Well there's a first for everything," Dean smiled, "do you read books?"

Cho nodded happily. At last she knew what he was talking about. "Well,

then what kind of books do you like to read? Suspense, romance, maybe something funny?"

"Well I like thrillers. But also romance novels. Not the cheesy ones. Why?" Cho asked, hoping Dean wasn't about to mention some other muggle thing she didn't understand.

"I'm just trying to figure out which movie you'll enjoy the most."

He got up and so did she. They moved to the living room. Dean kneeled and opened a cabinet underneath the television, where he began searching through many video cassettes.

"Umm, Dean? Where is the bathroom?" Cho asked.

"Step in to the corridor, second door on the left," Dean said while still absorbed in his video search. Cho walked to the corridor. A couple of seconds later, she screamed.

"Dean!" Cho screamed, terrified.

Dean got up so quickly he sent some of the cassettes next to him flying across the living room. He ran to the bathroom. Cho was standing in the bathtub, trying to back away from the huge, black snake circling her.

Dean never saw anything like it. It was at least 12 feet long, it's head was just a bit smaller then a handball and it's fangs reminded Dean of long sharp nails.

When Dean entered the bathroom, the snake turned its small blood-red eyes too him and hissed. Dean's eyes widened with fear. He saw the snake was turning back to Cho instead of him. He began to try to get his attention.

"Hey! Snake!" Dean said, as he began jumping up and down, feeling a bit ridiculous. The snake turned towards Dean, and began sliding towards him. Dean began backing up slowly out of the hall. "Call the firemen or something I don't know," Dean said as he backed out of the room. Cho was sick with apprehension. She wanted to help, but she had no idea who or what Dean talked about. She noticed her suitcase lying in Dean's room across the hall. She decided that if Dean actually manages to coax the snake away, she will go get her wand.

Dean walked slowly backwards away from the snake. The huge snake made an attempt to bite Dean's ankle, but Dean moved his ankle a tenth of a second before the snake managed to sink it's venomous fangs into Dean's flesh. Dean took a few quick steps backwards, putting a bigger distance between him and the snake. Dean was now entering the living room.

"How do you know about vampires?" Ginny asked Buffy in a demanding tone.

"Me? How do you know about vampires?" Buffy replied. She noticed Ginny was holding a wand. "What's that?"

Ginny instinctively hid her wands in her robes. "That is none of your business."

"Look, Ginny, I don't know who you are, but I think we're in danger here. Let's go to my home, call Giles and your teacher and get some answers. Now, give me the wand."

"Are my freckles spelling "git" on my face? I am not walking with weird people away from home without my wand!" Ginny answered, her face determined.

"Fine. But if you don't want to get pummeled, don't use your wand."

"If you don't want me to use my wand, don't try to pummel me."

Ginny and Buffy eyed each other suspiciously all the way towards Buffy's house.

Harry woke up with a start. He heard something move up stairs. Harry put on his glasses and woke Malfoy. Just then Giles entered the living room.

Eventually Malfoy opened his eyes. "What does the muggle want?!" Malfoy yelled as he rubbed his eyes.

"Shut up, Malfoy!" Harry said as he rose from the bed and put on his glasses. "What's the problem Mr. Giles?"

"Your teacher, Professor McGonagall has disappeared. I heard her scream and immediately got up, but she wasn't here."

"You woke me up for that?" Malfoy said and went back to sleep.

"Ignore him. His mum dropped him on the head a lot when he was a baby. Sometimes she even did it by accident. What happened to her?"

"People took her. I didn't exactly see who or..."

Harry looked at Giles. It suddenly occurred to him that he knew nothing about this guy. And if McGonagall was gone...

"I need to drink something," Harry said and got up. He took a couple of steps away from Giles and then jumped towards his suitcase and took his wand out. He pointed it directly towards Giles.

"Call the girl Hermione is staying with," Harry commanded Giles, who seemed not at all disturbed by Harry's behavior.

"I feared you would react like that. Believe me, I am on your side," Giles said calmly. "As a matter of fact I think it will be a good idea if we all gathered at the same place. It seems we are under an attack."
