Ministry Asks Wizarding Communities Help In Dark Times

The Ministry has requested the aid of all wizards and witches to help capture the fugitives on their Most Wanted Wizard List. Minister of Magic Albert Avery held a press conference today to release the newest information about these known dark wizards.

“These fugitives have been running from the law for quite some time now. They have committed heinous crimes and they deserve to pay with a life spent in Azkaban,” the Minister told the waiting press. “These wizards and witches have followed the path of He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named for too long. The community has been ripped apart because of the betrayals caused by these fugitives. Please, bring them to justice.”

The Ministry has handed out the newest information on these fugitives, which the Daily Prophet will again run, in hopes that these criminals will be apprehended. The names were also given to our wizarding contact in the Muggle newspapers, where the stories will again be printed in case these fugitives are hiding in the Muggle world.

This press conference and re-release of the fugitives' names comes on the eve of the one year anniversary of the attack on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was a year ago today that many brave and noble people lost their lives in the fight against He Who Shall Not Be Named.

An attack, led by Potter, was waged against the empty school last June. The reason for the attack is still unknown, but many suspect it was an assassination attempt against Headmaster Albus Dumbledore.

The story that became public has left the entire nation bewildered. Harry Potter had been heading a rebellion against He Who Shall Not Be Named, fulfilling every expectation the public had for him. He and a small group of his followers were present the night of the attack and fought back. The Death Eaters attacked the school, ambushing the professors who had stayed for the summer holidays. Then Harry Potter, along with his closest friends, Ronald Weasley, Hermione Granger and Virginia Weasley, turned on their fellow rebels and began to slaughter them. The death toll was high, five professors among the dead. Albus Dumbledore was away from the school at the time and the assassination attempt failed.

Aurors who arrived at the scene were able to piece together what had happened from the testimony of a dying Severus Snape. His last words, according to insiders were “Potter… how could he? He has gone to the other side. We are all done for now.” Potter and his friends fled the scene and have not been heard from since.

Upon the revelation of the events of that night, Minister of Magic Arthur Weasley, father to two of the fugitives, stepped down from his position. Some say that he did not resign his position but was forced out by those who suspected he was a Death Eater himself. Though the allegations have been denied, no one has seen from the former Minister or his family in a year. Official word is they have gone on vacation to grieve over their turncoat children. Others say they have gone back to He Who Shall Not Be Named’s Inner Circle to reap the benefits of their children’s evil deeds.

The loss of a powerful wizard like Potter has shaken the faith of people on the good side of the war. Albus Dumbledore has repeatedly assured those who are still loyal to the side of good that he “will not rest until He Who Shall Not Be Named is destroyed and that one day everyone will live without the fear of the Dark Mark haunting them.” Mighty words from the vanquisher of Grindelwald in 1945, but one wonders if Dumbledore is up to the challenge to face the being that was able to turn Harry Potter evil.
