Hermione's mother adjusted the back of her daughter's wedding dress, smiling to herself.
"I still can't believe it; my baby girl is getting married," she exclaimed, a bit louder than was necessary.
Hermione twirled around in front of her full-length mirror, tears threatening to ruin her makeup. She quickly grabbed a tissue and dabbed at her eyes. "I can't believe it either! I mean, it all seems like a dream," said the 22-year-old brunette quietly.
"Well, just be thankful that this isn't a nightmare," laughed Mrs. Granger. "Your father's and my wedding was an absolute disaster!"
Hermione grinned. "Oh, tell me the story again, Mum!"
Mrs. Granger looked at her daughter fondly and shook her head. "I don't want the story to make you fret about your own wedding. I'll tell you when you return from America, I promise."
Hermione's face drooped a little, but brightened up immediately. "Our honeymoon is going to be wonderful, mother! I'm so excited. I've heard so many wonderful things about America."
"All true, I'm sure," her mother said, placing Hermione's veil upon her head and adjusting it a bit. "All true."
Hermione smiled to herself again, and looked up at her mother. "Mum, do you mind? I want a few minutes to myself before the wedding."
"Oh, of course dear," the elder Granger replied, scuttling out the door.
"Well, this is it. You're getting married today. That means you'll be with Harry for the rest of your life."
"Yeah, lucky me."
Hermione spun around quickly to find her husband-to-be smiling at her from the doorway.
"You can't be in here! It's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding!"
Harry walked over to his bride, and wrapping his arms around her waist, kissed her passionately. "I just wanted to tell you that I love you."
"Harry, I know you love me. If I didn't know, I wouldn't be marrying you," Hermione said, smiling.
Harry smiled back at her, and kissed her cheek. "Okay Herm, it's almost time. Are you ready?"
"Ready as I'll ever be." She held out her little finger and he locked his with hers. "I love you, Harry Potter."
"And I you, Hermione Granger."

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the union of these two souls. Before I begin with the traditional ceremony, the bride and groom have requested that they say their own vows. Miss Granger, you may present your vows first." The minister took a step back and closed his bible.
Hermione looked into Harry's eyes and began speaking quietly. "Harry, when I sat down to write my vows to you, I was overcome with a chorus of wonderful emotions. I saw every perfect moment we've shared together, and I prayed that every moment in the future shall be just as special. I just want you to know that I love you, that I always have and I always will, and I stand here today ready to spend the rest of my life with you. You are the only one I can see in my future, and I hope that only I can be seen in yours." She paused for a moment, and then started speaking again. "Harry, as a couple, we are to have our ups and downs, trials and tribulations. But no matter what, please know that our love will carry us through anything and everything, and there will be no obstacle that we can't overcome and no mountain we can't climb."
The minister looked between the two, stepped forward, and spoke: "Mister Potter has chosen to recite his vows in song form. May I ask for the band to begin playing the requested song?"
As the band started to play a very slow tune, Harry spoke. "I do swear that I'll always be there. I'd give anything and everything, and I will always care. Through weakness and strength, happiness and sorrow, for better, for worse, I will love you with every beat of my heart."
He then began to sing.
"From this moment, life has begun,
From this moment, you are the one.
Right beside you is where I belong,
From this moment on.
From this moment, I have been blessed,
I live only for your happiness,
And for your love, I'd give my last breath,
From this moment on."
He handed the microphone to Hermione, leaned over, and whispered something into her ear. Then she began to sing to the man she loved.
"I give my hand to you with all my heart.
I can't wait to live my life with you,
I can't wait to start.
You and I shall never be apart.
My dreams came true, because of you."
The two now began to sing together, their voices wonderfully harmonized in the small church.
"From this moment, as long as I live,
I will love you, I promise you this,
There is nothing that I wouldn't give,
From this moment on."
While the music played, women, men, and children wiped tears from their eyes, watching the couple simply looking into each other's eyes.
"You're the reason I believe in love,
And you're the answer to my prayers
From up above.
All we need is just the two of us,
My dreams came true because of you
From this moment, as long as I live,
I will love you, I promise you this,
There is nothing that I wouldn't give,
From this moment on,
I will love you, as long as I live,
From this moment on."
The minister stepped up once again, and said, "You may now exchange your rings."
Ron handed Harry a small pillow. Atop it were beautiful silver rings. Harry placed the rings on Hermione's finger, looking into her eyes and whispering, "I love you," as he did so. He then brought her hand to his lips and kissed it tenderly.
Hermione's mother handed her an identical pillow, bearing Harry's wedding ring. She put the ring on his finger in the same process, whispering "I love you too," and kissing his hand as well.
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Harry, you may now kiss your bride."
Harry took another step toward his wife, leaned down, and kissed her lips tenderly. She traced her fingers up his arms and entwined them around his neck, kissing back with all her being.
The audience stood up, applauding the new married couple. The band struck up the same tune as the couple had sang together, and they danced, for the first time, as husband and wife.
