Author's Note:
Thanks to every one who has read and reviewed so far, I love getting reviews. I'm trying not to take too long on this story 'cos I already have notes for a sequel penned out and at the moment it promises to be better than this. So far this story is just fluff, but for you lot who don't like fluff don't worry, a plot will start to develop pretty soon. Thanks agin to Jamie for beta-ing this for me. Don't forget to review, thanks.

Chapter nine: Midnight wanderings

Harry had only been to three sorting ceremonies before this one, including his own. He had missed it in his second year because they had to fly the car to school. He missed it in third year because of the Dementors and again last year. But missing it last year wasn´t exactly an accident, especially when both he and Draco were missing.

"Hey Harry, guess what?" the ever happy, Colin Creevey asked, sliding into the seat next to Harry.

Harry groaned and rolled his eyes. "What Colin?"

"My little sister starts this year."

Perfect, Harry thought, just what I need, another Creevey to look up to me.

He gave an unenthusiastic smile and looked over at the Slytherin table, where Draco was sat on his own. Just then Draco looked up and their eyes met, Draco smiled slightly and Harry gave him a look that plainly said, "Can´t we miss it this year as well?" but Draco shook his head, a sad smile on his face. Harry supposed he had a point; it wouldn´t look good for the head boy to miss such an important feast. Suddenly the hall fell silent, as the pupils turned their attention to Professor McGonagall, who had just placed the sorting hat on Fiona Adams´ head, a short while later it declared her a Hufflepuff. The ceremony flew by pretty quickly, with Emma Creevey being put into Gryffindor, much to Harry´s annoyance. Professor Dumbledore stood up, said, "Let the feast begin." And the plates were instantly piled high with lamb, mashed potato, peas; you name it.

Harry couldn´t sleep; he didn´t know why, he just couldn´t. So he decided to go for a walk. He quietly got out of bed and made his way down to the portrait hole. The fat lady in the portrait must have figured out who it was that kept leaving the common room, late at night and under an invisibility cloak, because as she swung closed she murmured sleepily, "Try not to stay out too late tonight Mr. Potter."

Harry didn´t know where he was going; he was just walking and seeing where his legs took him. He only stopped walking when he realized he was in a part of the school that he had never been in before.

"How did I get here?" he wondered out loud, forgetting to keep his voice down.

"My thoughts exactly," a sleepy voice replied from the shadows, Harry jumped out of his skin and spun around looking for the source of the voice but there was no one around. Harry put it down to the castle being dark and that his mind was playing tricks on him.

"I´m going crazy," he muttered to himself.

"I assure you, you´re not crazy." There it was again, that voice, but Harry still couldn´t see anyone.

"Potter, I know you´re there. Come out from under that bloody invisibility cloak," the voice said, this time Harry recognized the voice and replied, "Where are you?"

"I´ll tell you when you take off that bleeding cloak," the voice replied.

"Fine." Harry sighed, and stepped out from under the cloak.

When he took the cloak off Draco stepped out from the shadows and walked towards Harry, "I thought you said you wouldn´t be able to get out tonight."

Harry nodded, "I did say that didn´t I? Well I couldn´t sleep, so I decided to take a walk and for some reason I ended up here. Although I´m not quite sure where here is," he added, looking into the darkness around him.

"This is the end of the castle where my dormitory is," Draco explained.

"Your dorm? Are you going to show me it or not?"

"Not," Draco replied, "well, not yet anyway."

"Why not? What are you doing up anyway?"

"Do you want to go for a walk?" Draco asked, grabbing hold of Harry´s hand and pulling him outside. "I couldn´t sleep either. I think that I knew you were going to come here tonight, but I don´t know how I knew. Besides I thought it was really stupid to think that because only the head girl and boy and the prefects can find these dormitories, but I guess Harry Potter has proved us all wrong again."

Harry let go of Draco´s hand and wrapped his arm around Draco´s waist. "I didn´t mean to come here."

Draco looked at Harry and rested his head on Harry´s shoulder as they walked. "I know you didn´t."

Harry woke up the next morning feeling absolutely knackered. He and Draco had spent all night walking around the school grounds talking and Harry hadn´t got back to his dormitory until early the following morning.

"Morning, Harry," Seamus said brightly as he slid into the seat next to Harry, who was sat at the table drinking, what looked like the worlds largest cup of coffee.

"Morning, Seamus," Harry replied sleepily.

Just then Professor McGonagall approached the table and began to hand out the new timetables for the year. Harry took his off of her and looked to see what his first lesson was, he groaned when he saw that it was Divination. After breakfast Harry slowly made his way up to Professor Trelawney´s classroom, not even paying attention to Sir Cadogan´s challenge. When Harry reached the trap door he found that the ladder was already down and that class had already begun.

"Mr. Potter, so kind of you to join us," Professor Trelawney remarked as Harry made his way into the classroom, "please take a seat in the back and we shall begin."

Harry turned and began to walk to the back of the classroom, and the only available seat, one right next to Draco Malfoy. Harry was confused, but luckily he was a pretty good actor, he just rolled his eyes in disgust and sat down next to him.

"To start off the year we are going to do a project on the History of Divination..."

"Please Professor, why are we doing that?" Lavender Brown asked.

"Because Miss. Brown, it will broaden your knowledge and make your inner eye clearer," she paused before continuing, "the subject of the report is up to the individual groups, however it will have to be based upon the history of this subject. The report will be at least two scrolls long; you will work with the person you are sat next to, however both of you will be required to hand in a copy of the report in your own handwriting," she let her eyes rest on Draco a moment, "I will be here to help any of you if you need it. You have the rest of today´s lesson to start and it is due in next Monday morning."

She turned her back on the class, who eventually started working, and making enough noise for Draco and Harry to talk without drawing too much attention to themselves.

"What are you doing here?" Harry said quietly to Draco as they opened their textbooks and pretended to work. Draco looked at the people around them to make sure no one was listening; thankfully everyone was so engrossed in their own work to notice the two of them.

"I talked to Dumbledore last night and this is the only class that doesn´t have any Slytherins in, except me that is," he said, before adding, "What are you doing here anyway? You told me that you dropped Divination after the O.W.L.s."

Harry nodded, "I did, but I needed a class to pull my grade up and this is a guaranteed A, you just have to pretend to see a grim every now and again."

Draco nodded and murmured something through a yawn; Harry chuckled.

"Look´s like someone didn´t get a lot of sleep last night either," he said, yawning himself.

"I´ve never felt so tired, and we didn´t do anything apart from talk and kiss last night."

"Are you going to show me your dorm tonight, or not?"

"Boys, I hope you have done some research this lesson," Professor Trelawney´s voice suddenly said.

"That´s right Potter, you heard the Professor, get to work," Draco remarked, acting like his old self.

"Mr. Malfoy, I hope you have some work done as well." Knowing full well that he wouldn´t have even wrote the date on his parchment.

Chapter ten: suntans and secrets

Harry and Draco were so busy, trying to find time to concentrate on their relationship and their schoolwork that they didn´t notice that nearly a week had past since school started.

"Harry!!!"

He spun around, only to find himself face to face with his two best friends. "Guys," he exclaimed as Hermione flung her arms around his neck.

"Hey Harry. Sorry we left you, but we thought you´d have someone to hang out with, we didn´t know that both of us would be away," Ron explained, looking sheepish.

"It´s ok. Really, I didn´t even realize that it was Tuesday today."

Ron and Hermione looked at each other, "Um. Harry, it´s Thursday," Hermione said as Ron burst out laughing.

"Is it?" Ron nodded, "Wow! I guess I´ve been so caught up doing school work that I didn´t realize what day it was and-"

"Wait a minute," Hermione interrupted, "Did you say that you´ve been busy doing school work? You?"

"Yes me. Why is that so hard to believe?"

"Well for starters you´re...well... you," Ron said, "What have you been doing?"

"Well every night this week I´ve been doing a Divination research project," Harry told them, he conveniently left out the part about Draco.

"What? Divination? But we dropped that after fifth year," Ron said, stating the obvious.

Harry groaned and rolled his eyes; he had already explained this once. "Let's go to supper and I´ll tell you on the way." And as they walked down to the great hall Harry continued to tell them about the research project, being careful to avoid bringing Draco into the conversation.

"Look what we have here. Potty, the Weasel and the Mudblood," a cold drawling voice said from behind them as they were leaving the great hall, they turned around and saw Draco casually leaning against the pillar.

"What´d you want Malfoy?" Harry asked maliciously.

"Nothing, can´t a student talk to his classmates now?" he drawled, eyes sparkling.

"We´re not classmates, Malfoy," Ron spat back at him.

"Hey Weasley, I heard you went on holiday to America, over the summer. What did your family have to sell to be able to afford it? The house, a new flying car, or both?" he asked smirking when Ron´s face turned bright red.

"I´d rather have my family over yours any day Malfoy, why don´t you just go back to your house and join your father, kissing Voldemorts arse. Why wait till school finishes, you might not last that long."

Harry knew immediately that Ron had hit a soft spot with Draco, so he decided to step in before Draco did something he knew he´d regret, "Ron stop it." Stepping in between them, "Look at him, he is so not worth fighting over, so don´t waste your breath on him."

Ron took a deep breath and looked at Harry. "You´re right, he´s not worth it. Come on guys, let´s go. We´ve got better things to do than stand around arguing with the likes of him." He threw one last death glare in Draco´s direction then turned on his heal and walked away in the opposite direction, back up to Gryffindor tower. Harry turned around slightly before he walked after him and Hermione; Draco smiled and mouthed the word "Tonight?"

Harry nodded and smiled back, before turning his back on Draco and walking back to the tower.

"He is the worst person I have ever met," Ron said angrily as he flopped down on one of the squashy chairs in the common room. "I´m not going to stand for it this year. If he insults me one more time I´m going to curse him into next week, and if I don´t have my wand handy, well I suppose I could just break his nose."

Harry didn´t like the thought of his boyfriend getting a broken nose from his best friend, so he tried to talk Ron out of it, "Come on Ron, isn´t that a bit drastic? Besides you say that every year and each time you don´t do anything to affect him, remember the slugs?"

Ron blushed. "Thanks for bringing that back up Harry. Anyway why are you standing up for Malfoy, he treats you just as bad as he does everyone else,"  he asked looking at Harry suspiciously.

Stupid, stupid me, he thought. "I´m not. I just think that you´re taking it too seriously; I mean it´s been what, seven years? Why can´t you just let it go? If he wants to make a fool out of himself in public, then let him, but don´t make a fool out of yourself too, just because of him."

Ron sat back on the chair, sighed and ran his hands through his red hair. "I know it´s childish but he just seems to know which button´s to press to annoy me."

"Harry´s right Ron," Hermione pointed out, "Think of all the points you´d lose for Gryffindor and all the trouble you´d get into if a teacher caught you. Especially Snape."

"Yeah," Harry agreed, looking at his watch, "I´ve got to go."
"What? Go, where?" Hermione asked, surprised.

"I have to go work of the Divination project, we´ve still got a lot to do."

Hermione and Ron nodded, "Ok. We´ll see you when you get back," as Harry ran up the stairs towards his dormitory. Two minutes later he came back down. "Bye," he yelled over his shoulder, as he exited the common room.

"Don´t do that," Harry hissed as Draco started kissing the sensitive spot on his neck, just under his ear.

"Why not?" Draco murmured, his lips never leaving Harry´s skin.

"Malfoy, I´m serious stop it," When he didn´t stop Harry shoved him. "Pack it in."

"Fine." Draco sighed, reaching for his textbook, opening it to the right page and beginning to read aloud, "Divination, though usually associated with predicting the future, is actually a process, a ritual, designed to bring something missing or hidden into the open in a present time."

Harry took the book off of Draco and continued reading, "Recovering information lost in time, or finding something or someone hidden in the present, are as much a part of divination as anticipating upcoming events."

He stopped here, while they both tried to think of a subject to do their paper on. "Why don´t we do it on the tools used in divination and the process that people do?" Draco suddenly suggested.

"Sounds good to me," Harry agreed, then he looked at the book again. "There are Crystal Balls and Spirit balls in here." he flicked over a couple of pages. "It´s says here that Altars and Candles are used a lot in many rituals, maybe we should include those."

"Maybe. Can I see the book?" Draco asked, Harry handed him the book and he began to look through it.

"Look at this." Pointing to a picture of a knife, "An Athame is a double sided ceremonial knife that is used to give direction to the energy raised by the witch or wizard and represents a symbol of Masculinity," he grimaced. "It looks really sharp, I´d hate to be stabbed by one of those."

"Me too. Look, Tarot Cards, Crystals and Mirrors are also used in divination rituals. Let me see that." Taking the book back off him, "Green robes are sometimes worn when healing, blue when meditating and red when drawing a lover near."

"Well that certainly worked didn´t it?" Draco said smiling, "but that´s not really divination though is it?"

"Not really. So that´s settled then, we know what we´re doing," Harry said, closing the book and putting it down on the desk.

"Harry what are you doing? We still need to write the report."

"I know Dray, but the report can wait," he said, then reached out and grabbed Draco´s t-shirt, pulling him closer and capturing his lips with his. Expertly he pulled Draco´s top over his head and pulled him over to the bed, while Draco´s fingers fumbled with Harry´s buttons. `That´s right, it´s ok when he wants to make out, but when I want to... nooo...´ Draco thought bitterly as Harry softly bit his neck, but he didn´t say anything out loud, Harry already seemed to be annoyed as it was.

In the aftermath of their lovemaking, Harry and Draco were lying together, holding each other.

"I love you so much, Harry," Draco whispered as they drifted off to sleep.

Harry raised his head, slightly from where it had been resting on Draco´s shoulder. "I love you too," he whispered back as he kissed Draco on the lips.

Draco chuckled to himself; apparently something seemed to be amusing, "What´s so funny?"

"Nothing, I was just remembering what Ron said when you told him I wasn´t worth fighting over. I wish I´d had a camera."

"He can go over the top sometimes, which reminds me, if Ron comes at you with his wand or fist raised, just turn and run away in the opposite direction. You wouldn´t look very attractive with a broken nose," Harry advised, remembering what Ron had said about getting revenge. "I´m sorry he said what he did about you joining the Death Eaters, like your dad. I would have told him to shut up but then he´d know about us."

"It´s ok Harry; you don´t have to apologize for what he says. Besides I know that I´m not going to be a Death Eater, and so do you. Besides, I don´t have a father anymore, actually I never had one. Not one that loved me anyway. I´ve felt more loved over these past two years, than I have my whole life with them. I don´t need them, I´ve got all I need right here with me," he said kissing Harry´s hair.

"I know how you feel, I´ve lived with the Dursley's all my life. Although it´s not quite the same thing is it? Anyway what are we talking about bad things for? We should be happy, I mean after we leave here we´ll be free, fully trained wizards. We´ll be able to do what we want, live where we want and go where we want."

"Draco," Harry whispered.

"Leavemealone," Draco mumbled as he turned over in his sleep.

"Dray. Come on, the suns already up and I need to get back to my dorm," Harry said, kissing Draco on the cheek. When Draco didn´t respond Harry rolled his eyes and got out of bed. He quickly got dressed; he had about twenty minutes to get back to Gryffindor tower before everyone else woke up. Harry kissed Draco cheek again, but he still didn´t wake up, Harry seriously considered tickling him to get him up, but then he remembered the schools motto `Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus´ and he knew how much Draco hated being tickled. "Goodbye my sleeping dragon," Harry whispered, chuckling to himself at how stupid that sounded, even in his head, while he put the invisibility cloak back on and quietly snuck out of the door.

Harry had just taken off his glasses and got into the bed when Ron´s alarm clock went off, followed by everyone else´s. Harry groaned, and pulled back the curtains, making it look like he had just woke up. He pretended to rub sleep out of his eyes as he reached out to put his glasses back on.

"Morning, Harry," Ron said, sleepily.

"Morning, Ron," Harry replied, getting up and making his way into the bathroom to get ready for breakfast.
