Chapter one: The unexpected arrival

Lucius Malfoy made sure no one was in before he snuck in to the room. He knew it was am invasion of his son's privacy but there had been an unusual amount of owls for Draco that summer (At least one a day) and he tried to resist the urge to have a nosy about but in the end curiosity got the best of Lucius, as it usually did.

He didn't really know what he was looking for or why he had even bothered thinking there was something wrong with Draco until he found a letter on the desk addressed to H. Potter. Lucius was even more confused now than before. Why was his son sending letters to Harry Potter?

The Draco he had raised and who he thought he knew had always been brought up to hate Harry Potter and anything to do with the fall of the dark lord, it wouldn't look good for Lucius to have his son associated with the Potter boy. And the letter didn't look like a death threat to him. But, then again, this summer Draco seemed slightly more subdued than normal and spent all of his time locked up in his room. Normally he hated being alone in his room. They only saw him at meal times and he never said much then. He was only out today because Narcissa had managed to drag him out of the house; she had taken him down in to the village.

Lucius flipped the envelope over, opened it, only slightly taking in the waxy Dragon seal, took the letter out and began to read.

Dear Harry,

How are you? I miss you so much it hurts sometimes. I just want to be able to hold you in my arms and kiss you until the pain goes awayÂ…

The rest of the letter was pretty much the same as this, after reading each part Lucius became more and more shocked but more so when he read what Draco had wrote at the end of the letter, which was over two pieces of parchment long.

I can't wait to see you when school starts. Anyway write back soon. Love you always.

Always yours, Draco.

Suddenly a noise behind him made Lucius jump. Draco stepped into his room, saw his Dad standing there and suddenly stopped dead. "Um hi Dad," he said nervously.

"Don't you hi Dad me," Lucius spat back at his son, "What is this?" Waving the piece of paper in front of Draco's face. Immediately Draco's eyes darted to his desk where the letter he had wrote to Harry was missing; Which Lucius noticed.

"What do you mean?" He asked, hoping against hope that he sounded more curious than petrified.

"You know perfectly well what I mean Draco, but here let me recap your memory for you. (He cleared his throat loudly for dramatic effect) Maybe we can meet in Diagon Alley (if I can ditch my dad long enough that is) cos I've got a whole months worth of not kissing you to make up for." He paused, waiting for a response from Draco but none came. Draco just stood there paler than usual. "WellÂ…" Lucius inquired,

"Well what?" Draco snapped, "What do you want me to tell you?" avoiding his fathers eyes.

"I want (Lucius began, taking a deep breath to supposedly calm him down. Didn't work) you to tell me that this is all a big joke, just some sick and twisted way of screwing with Potters head."

"I can't do that," he replied wincing slightly as Lucius stepped forward and slapped him, hard, across the face. "And (He continued bravely) his name is Harry."

Lucius was so furious he was shaking with anger. "Do you mean to tell me that you have been seeing Potter all summer?" he yelled his voice breaking a little bit more than slightly.

"Actually I've been seeing him all of last year as well," Draco, who was way beyond caring now, replied.

Lucius couldn't hold the anger in any longer he stepped forward and punched Draco as hard as he could in his stomach, repeatedly.

3 miles away, at number 4 Privet Drive.

Harry was sat at the foot of his bed going through his things in his trunk when he heard a quiet tap on the window followed by another one and then,

"Come on Harry."

Harry recognized the voice but think him being was possible; nevertheless he got up and looked down from his window.

"Draco? What the-?"

"Oh good. Are your aunt and uncle in?" he asked urgently.

"No. Why?" Harry replied confused

"Can you?" Draco said, pointing towards the front door.

"Yeah sure. I'll be down in a sec."

Draco walked around to the front door and waited a second before the door opened and Harry ushered him in. Draco dumped his trunk at the foot of the stairs and walked over to Harry, who was still stood by the door, and wrapped his arms around Harry's neck.

"I have missed you so much baby," he whispered.

"I missed you too gorgeous," Harry replied, planting a soft kiss on Draco's lips and pulling him closer. Pretty soon the kiss turned passionate, with a months worth of passion and love behind it.

Reluctantly Harry pulled back, feeling that if they didn't stop soon they'd do it right there and then in the hallway.

"Dray. Not that I'm complaining, but what are you doing here?"

"I've been kicked out of the house and didn't have no where else to go. Do you mind?"

"Of course not," he said, affectionately flicking Draco's hair from his tired eyes, "You look knackered. How much sleep did you get last night?"

"None," Draco replied, pulling Harry closer (if possible) to him, "I've on the train since seven o'clock last night. And I couldn't sleep."

"Well come on. You can get some sleep here," he replied bending down to pick up Draco's trunk, expecting it to be really heavy but to his surprise it was so light it felt light it had nothing in it.

"Dray. What's in here?"

"Everything," he replied simply and, after seeing the confused look on his boyfriend's face, explained, "I put a featherweight charm on it before I left the manor."

"Oh right. Come on!" Harry said, motioning for Draco to follow him up the stairs.

Chapter two: The comprise

Upstairs Harry took Draco in to his bedroom, if you could call it that. More like a junk room. Harry put the trunk down on to the floor next to his own and looked up at Draco, who was shifting uncomfortably on his feet.

"Come here you," Harry commanded softly pulling Draco to him, and slipping his jacket off. "You're going to get in to bed and get some sleeph" he said, pulling Draco's T-shirt up and over his head revealing a very muscular chest.

"But Harry. What if your aunt and uncle come home?" Draco asked uncertainly as Harry began to undo his belt buckle.

"Let me worry about that." Slipping Draco's black denim jeans down and revealing his green boxers, with silver Dragons. "Now get some sleep," Harry replied pushing Draco gently down on the bed and covering him up with the duvet.

"Aren't you getting in too?" Draco asked looking and sounding disappointed.

"No I'm not!" Harry said, and after seeing the sad, hurt look in Draco eyes, added, "Dray. You know as well as I do. That if I get in we'll end doing it and you don't need that right now. What you do need however is sleep. Look (Harry said sitting down on the edge of the bed) I know you're worried but everything is going to be fine. I promise. Nothing is going to happen to you and you are going to stay here with me for the rest of the summer. Now come on get some sleep," he said getting up and going over to the door.

"Wait where are you going?" Draco asked.

"Downstairs. I need to figure out what to say to my aunt and uncle. A few mentions of Sirius ought to do the trick though. Sweet dreams baby," he said, blowing Draco a kiss and closing the door softly behind him.

Draco was still fast asleep when the Dursleys arrived home and hour later, by then Harry knew exactly what he was going to say to convince them to let Draco stay. And if that didn't work he could always stay here but he'd have to wear Harry's invisibility cloak.

"Uncle Vernon?" Harry asked, with a surprisingly clear voice, his uncle, who was reading the paper, didn't even look up. But that was nothing unusual so this didn't bother Harry.

"What?"

"WellÂ… I was wondering. You remember Sirius? My Godfather?"

Uncle Vernon lowered the paper and looked at Harry, pale faced. "What about him?" His voice shaking slightly.

"His friends son is in town and he's got no where to go. So I was wondering, and Sirius thinks it's a good idea too, can he stay here?" he said, trying not to sound like he was lying.

"WHAT MAKES YOU THINK WE'D LET HIM STAY HERE??? ONE FREAK IS BAD ENOUGH!" Uncle Vernon yelled, turning purple.

"Nothing. OK (Backing off slightly.) so he can't stay here. I'll so and tell Sirius you won't let him," Harry said, getting up to leave the room.

"Wait! If he does come. Hypothetically speaking of course ("Of course" Harry butted in, but upon receiving an icy stare from his marshmallow faced uncle shut up) where is he going to sleep?" Harry grinned inwardly; this was definitely a good sign.

"In my room." In my bed actually, he corrected himself mentally.

"Ok fine," he said reluctantly giving in, "He can stay but only as long as the two of you stay out of the way (he paused, then added) and there'll be hell to pay if you don't."

Harry was so happy, he felt like jumping for joy, but thought he'd better not. "Deal. I promise, you won't know we're here."

Upstairs Harry finished the letter he was writing to Dumbledore, attached it to Hedwig and walked as she soared through the sky towards Hogwarts. When she had disappeared from sight Harry shut the window with a soft click.

Surprisingly this was what woke Draco up. Harry turned around and upon seeing that his lover was awake he walked over and sat on the bed with his back resting on the headboard.

Draco, sitting and following suit, asked, "When are your aunt and uncle getting home?"

"They're already back!"

"WHAT!" Draco said sitting bolt up right.

"it's OK!" Harry reassured him, pulling the other boy back down. "I've asked them. I told them you were Sirius' friends' son. As soon as I mentioned Sirius they caved in."

"Thanks Harry. This means a lot to me," Draco said, softly, wrapping his arms around Harry's waist.

"Well you mean a lot to me. Now are you going to tell me why he kicked you out or am I supposed to guess?" Harry replied, kissing the top of Draco's blonde hair.

Draco sat up and sighed, "I suppose you have a right to know too. Well you know we've been sending owls to each other all summer right? (Harry nodded) well after I got your last one I wrote a reply and left it on my desk because the owl was out hunting. Then my mum dragged me down to the village, against my better judgment. When we got back I found Lucius in my room and he had the letter in his hand; he had obviously read it. He asked me what it was, I told him I didn't know. He said he didn't believe me and he slapped me. Then I told him the truth and he punched me in the stomach about twenty times before telling me I had ten minutes to pack up all my stuff and get out."

"Baby. I'm so sorry – " Harry paused in mid sentence as his eyes fell on Draco's stomach, which was purple. "Did he do that? Cos if he did I'm going to kill him."

"It's OK I'm fine honestly," Draco said unconvincingly.

‘No you're not. Come on get dressed."

*****

Five minutes later Harry was tiptoeing down the stairs with Draco following him. Quietly Harry opened the front door and Draco walked back out. He shut the door quietly before walking into the dining room where his aunt was cooking tea and Dudley had his eyes glued to the television set. Suddenly the doorbell rang, making them all jump (Harry's was staged, he knew it was going to ring) "I'll get it."

Harry went to the front door and opened it, ushering Draco inside for the second time that day. "Draco. Hi so good to see you!" Harry said in a very loud over exaggerated voice. "Come on I'll take you upstairs." Then he shouted, to his aunt and uncle, "Draco's here I'm going to show him my room." Then the two of them went back upstairs.

As soon as Harry had shut the bedroom door the two of them fell onto the bed laughing. "You think they fell for it?" Draco said, sitting up.

"It looks like it," Harry said, sitting up next to Draco and kissing the sensitive spot underneath his ear lobe, he allowed himself a secret smile when he felt Draco shiver underneath his touch, with pleasure.

"Harry?" Draco said in a tight voice.

"Ummm!" Harry muttered against Draco's skin, causing Draco to shiver again.

"What about your aunt and uncle?"

This caused Harry to pull away and looked relatively p****d off. "Damn. Didn't think of that."

Draco didn't reply he was apparently deep in thought. He suddenly, without any warning, got up and walked over to the dresser, where there was a slightly rusty key, lying forgotten under a pile of spell books and parchment.

"What's this for?"

"Let me see," Harry said, taking the key as Draco handed it to him. "I haven't seen this in years. I wonder." He sounded as if he was talking to himself rather than to Draco. He got up and walked over to the door with the key still in his hands. He pushed the key into the lock and it fit perfectly, he turned it and to his and Draco's delight a slight click could be heard, signaling that the door was locked.

Harry turned back to Draco, a mischievous glint in his eyes. His fingers fumbled slightly on Draco's belt buckle but when he did slide his jeans off he didn't stop there.

*****

The next morning Harry awoke to the usual pounding on his bedroom door and his aunt's voice shouting at him, telling him to get up. However this morning he woke up in Draco's arms.

"Boy! Get up now!" Aunt Petunia yelled pounding on the door again.

"I'm up!" Harry yelled back.

"Hurry up and get dressed. We are going out."

Going out? That's weird he thought to himself. The last time they took him out was on Dudley's birthday, just before he started at Hogwarts. That was the time he accidentally set the boa constrictor loose. Then Harry realized that they were only taking him out because Draco was here and he was supposed to be a friend of Sirius'. Speaking of Draco.

"Dray," Harry said, poking Draco gently in the shoulder. "Wake up."

Draco stirred in his sleep and muttered something, which Harry couldn't make out, before turning over and falling asleep again.

"Draco come on get up," Harry said, leaning over and blowing in Draco's ear.

This obviously startled Draco because he awoke with a start.

"What'd you do that for?" he asked groggily as he sat up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

"My aunt said we have to get up. We're apparently going out."

Draco groaned but began to get ready anyway.

******

It didn't take them that long to get changed and they were down stairs in ten minutes, but not before they had a quick snog upstairs in Harry's (And Draco's) room.

Breakfast that morning was rather quiet. No one other than Harry and Draco said a word. Harry's aunt, uncle and cousin were too scared, probably by the fact that this stranger sat at their table was a wizard.

"What's wrong with them?" Draco whispered in Harry's ear.

Harry looked up to see all three of them staring back at him and Draco. He shrugged. "I guess their just thinking how devilishly handsome you are," Harry whispered back, lowering his voice so his relatives wouldn't hear.

"Mr. Potter, you flatter me," Draco replied with a grin, pretending to blush. What Draco didn't realize was, he was actually blushing.

Harry chuckled and secretly slid his hand under the table and squeezed Draco's knee, causing Draco to sit upright and glance over at Aunt petunia and uncle Vernon. Who had, thankfully, stopped looking them. Cautiously Draco reached out and stroked from Harry's cheekbone to his lips, brushing his fingers teasingly over them. Just when Harry opened his mouth, Draco pulled his hand quickly away. Dudley had just walked back into the room and it wouldn't be good for anyone to catch them like that.
