Ron and Hermione Weasley sat on their couch on their first anniversary, a photo album opened between them.
"Oh look, doesn't Lily Rose look adorable?" Hermione said pointing to a picture of a 4 year old girl.
Ron smiled remembering what happened shortly after that picture was taken . . .
As Lily Rose Potter walked slowly down the aisle, dropping rose petals in her wake, her cousin Richard Weasley walked behind her carrying a pillow with two rings on it. Seeing the train of his cousin's dress trailing behind her, Richard, with a wicked grin on his face, quickened his pace. As he caught up with her, he stomped
Ron and Hermione laughed out loud at the memory.
on her train, causing Lily Rose to crash to the ground and spill her basket of flowers.
Richard started laughing but not for long. Enraged, Lily Rose jumped up and flew at her cousin, tackling him to the ground. She started beating him with her now-empty basket, 'till Ginny Potter pulled her off him.
"He started it, Mummy," she cried as she struggled to get out of her mother's grasp.
"Did not." Richard called out from Angelina Weasley's grasp.
Ron and Hermione laughed out loud at the memory.
Turning the page, Hermione smiled. "There's Luna. . ."
"Do you, Ronald Bilius Weasley, take this woman, Hermione Jane Granger, to be your lawfully wedded wife, through sickness and health, for richer and for poorer, till death do you part?"
Ron opened his mouth to say "I do," but before he could form the words, a voice in the audience began to sing "Longbottom is Our King." It sand softly at first, but grew louder with each line of the song.
Everyone gathered looked over at Luna Lovegood, who, as usual, was oblivious to the scene she was creating. Once finished with her song, Luna looked around. "Oh do carry on," she said dreamily.
"It was wonderful that so many people were able to come," said Ron, looking at a picture of their receiving line. "There's Dean and Lavender and Pavarti and Padma. Even Cho and that new boyfriend of hers came. . ."
Ron was shaking Seamus' hand when he felt Hermione stiffen beside him. Following her gaze, his eyes narrowed as he sighted
Draco Malfoy with his parents, Lucius and Narcissa, and his betrothed, Pansy Parkinson.
"My my, Weasley, you actually went and married the Mudblood," Draco sneered.
Ron and Harry advanced on him. "Get out Malfoy," Ron hissed.
Malfoy laughed as he led his family out of the church. "See you later, Mr. and Mrs. Weasel," he called back over his shoulder.
"So have you forgiven Harry yet?" Hermione teased, looking at a picture of Ron's best man raising his glass in a toast.
"No," Ron said darkly. But he smiled in spite of himself. "I guess it is a little funnier a year later. . ."
"Well, my two best friends have finally taken the plunge," Harry Potter said, standing up from his seat.
"Ron, Hermione, you two are meant for each other and it makes me happy to see that this day has come at last." He paused, smiling. "Of course this does mean Ron will have to get rid of all his Playwitch magazines," Harry continued.
The dinning hall burst into laughter - with the exception of Ron and his mother, Molly Weasley, who shot him a look that could have wilted the Whomping Willow.
"I never realized how sad Bill looked that day," Hermione mentioned, pointing to Ron's brother . . .
"Bill, dear," said Molly Weasley, coming up beside her son while the crowd slowly filed past the receiving line.
"Is everything all right? Where's Fleur?"
"Um, Fleur and I have broke up, Mum. It wasn't really working out. And don't hug me Mum," Bill said,
seeing his mother's arms opening and closing in on him.
"Oh, Bill dear, I am very sorry. I thought you two were doing all right."
"Remember Mum and the cake?" Ron and Hermione both started laughing.
"Go ahead and cut the cake, Hermione." Ron said, handing her the knife.
"Ron, wait!" his mother cried out. "According to Keep the Evil Spirits Out of Your Marriage by Gilderoy Lockhart, you both must cut the cake together or the marriage will be doomed from the start."
Ron rolled his eyes and looked over at Hermione, who was listening raptly to what Mrs. Weasley said.
'Oh fine," he grumbled, holding onto the knife and waiting for Hermione to grab it, too.
"Poor Neville," Hermione said, looking at a picture of Neville Longbottom sinking down in his chair. . .
While Harry was giving his speech, Luna Lovegood leaned back in her chair and passed a note to Neville, who was seated behind her.
Glancing suspiciously at her, Neville unfolded the paper and read what was on it. "What do you mean the government stole my toad!?" he yelled, causing the dining hall to fall silent.
Looking thoroughly embarrassed, Neville tucked the note away. As he slid down into his chair, he stammered "S-sorry. Harry, please, um, go ahead with your speech."
"We got some interesting gifts, didn't we?" Ron asked, looking over a group of photos showing everything from silverware to a dragon scale (a gift from Hagrid). . .
Ron and Hermione paused in their gift opening. In front of them was a box from Fred and George, who had been unable to make it to the wedding.
"Go ahead and open it, Hermione," Ron said.
"Oh no, please you open it. They're your brothers."
"Oh no, I insist. You're the lady."
"Oh for heavens sake!" Hermione grumbled. Pulling out her wand, Hermione extended her arm as far as she could. Using the tip of her wand,
she opened the lid and there was a loud BANG! Everyone in the hall ducked and closed their eyes. Slowly, one-by-one, they opened their eyes to see
"CONGRATULATIONS, RON AND HERMIONE!"
written in gold lettering above their heads.
"Would you look at Cho and her boyfriend? I hadn't realized the photographer had gotten that scene on film. . ."
"What is wrong with you, Cho?" her boyfriend yelled as they stood just outside the dining hall.
Crying her eyes out, Cho could only say, "Cedric wouldn't have yelled at me," before running away sobbing.
"Doesn't that look familiar?" Ron said to Harry. They grinned.
On the last page of the photo album was a picture of Ron and Hermione dancing. "You looked beautiful," Ron whispered in her ear. Smiling, he flicked his wand to turn on their phonograph player. The song "You're Still the One" started to play. Setting aside the photo album, Ron pulled Hermione to her feet and they danced to "their song" again, just as they had a year ago.
