Chapter 2

Making sure the redeemer was gone, the wicked prince sneaked out of the chamber and ran away from the castle, where the kind redeemer Arthur walked along, thinking he had done a good deed. Then, the arrogant Draco wandered along into the wide woods near the castle, smirking to himself over Arthur's gullibility. He walked without fear, although the wild beasts roared about him. None did him harm, for the beasts had sharp senses, and could all sense the cunning and evil in the prince.

'Curse the annoyingly good queen!' muttered Draco as he rested against a tree. 'Why did father married a good witch? Why not someone perfectly evil?'

Draco began cursing the queen with a long list of names that would have shocked the queen deeply as he wandered deeper into the woods. By the time the rude boy had finished, it was evening, and he had came to a little cottage, and went in there to rest himself, for he had never had to walk this far before, and his feet could carry him no further. Although everything was spruce and neat in the cottage, the spoilt prince surveyed the place with a disapproving eye. On the table was spread a white cloth, and there were seven plates with seven loaves, and seven goblets filled with pumpkin juice in them; and seven set of knives and forks laid in order; and by the wall stood seven beds. Then, as Draco was very hungry, he picked half off each loaf, and drank some of the pumpkin juice from each of the goblets, not even considering leaving enough for the owners of the cottage. And after that, he thought he would lie down and rest, as he usually does after a meal.

So the prince tried all the beds: the first one was too long, the second was too warm, the third was too hard, both the fourth and the fifth kept twisting and moving around when he tried them, the sixth was just alright, and the seventh was too short. Draco decided he would have to lie on the sixth bed, and there he laid himself down and went to sleep. He did not plan to sleep for long, just a short rest. Being irresponsible as he was, Draco was not intending to wait for the masters of the cottage to come back and discover that it was he who had eaten their loaves and drank their juice.

Soon, in came the owners of the cottage, who were seven siblings that lived among the mountains, and dug and searched about for gold, not that it was really successful, considering the size of the cottage they lived in. They lighted up their seven wands with simultaneous 'lumos!' and saw directly that all was not right.

The eldest of the siblings, Bill, said, 'Who has been sitting in my stool?'

The second, Charlie, asked, 'Who has been eating off my plate?'

The third, Percy, thought aloud, 'Who has been picking my bread?'

The fourth and fifth, who were twins Fred and George, exclaimed in unison, 'Who has been meddling and handling our spoons and forks?'

The sixth, Ron, wondered, 'Who has been cutting with my knife?'

The seventh, Ginny, questioned, 'Who has been drinking my Butterbeer? Oh, wait, the Butterbeer is still in the pantry.'

'Butterbeer?' All the boys turned to look at their only sister. 'Where did you get Butterbeer from? And why weren't we told?'

Ginny smiled sheepishly. 'I got it from Hogsmeade, the village nearby. I only managed to get one, and I didn't feel like sharing. I'm sorry.'

The boys began to fight with their sister for a share of Butterbeer, and almost forgot that someone has been into their cottage. Bill, being the most sensible among the seven siblings, looked around the cottage while his brothers childishly fought with each other.

He walked towards the beds, and said, 'Who has been lying on my bed?'

The rest, coming to their senses, abandoned their fight and came running to him, and everyone cried out that somebody had been upon his bed. But Ron saw Draco, and called his siblings to come and see him, while Ginny sighed with relief that her brothers had forgotten the matter of the Butterbeer.

They cried out with surprise and astonishment, and brought their wands to look at him, and said, 'Good heavens! What a pale child he is!'

'Maybe the boy is dead,' said Ron, looking at the sleeping prince with alarm.

Percy, being the smartest (and the most boring) among the seven of them, checked Draco's pulse and said, 'No, he is still alive.'

The seven siblings were delighted to see Draco, as they have never had a visitor before, and took care not to wake him, except for Ron, who was angry that a complete stranger took his bed. However, the sleeping prince, who was very exhausted, slept soundly through out the night, while Ron had to settle with sleeping on the floor. None of his brothers wanted to share their beds with him, as they claimed that he snores too loud, and his sister's bed was much too small. With the exception of Ron, everyone was happy of Draco's presence. If only they knew how wicked Draco really was.
