An Apology is Just Words
Chapter 14: "Delicate"
*To all my faithful readers, I am SO SORRY this took forever! I hope you like it! *
"Why did you fill my sorrows?
With the words you borrowed?"
--"Delicate" Damien Rice
Ginny sat in her room, doodling in her notebook when Hermione walked in. Hermione, whose face was flushed, looked like she just had run a marathon. "Where have you been? Draco was looking for you everywhere!" Hermione gasped before collapsing on Ginny's bed.
Ginny turned to her. "I was here, just doodling. You know, to clear my head. I mean this whole Voldemort-and-Death-Eater thing is just bothering me," she said, before turning back to her book. "By the way, did you run all the way here?"
"Yes, yes, I have. Does that even matter? Draco is looking for you, and he looks quite worried. Come to think of it, I have never seen Draco actually be worried. I wonder what's wrong," Hermione said, slowly drifting off during her sentences. Ginny glanced at Hermione and got up.
"Well, I am going to look for him. You could stay here if you want, but you have a class in 15 minutes," Ginny said, opening the door. She turned back and said, "Also, I think you should stay away from running. It doesn't do you any good."
Ginny left. Hermione sighed before dragging herself out of Ginny's bed.

Lucius sat at his desk, fumbling through some of his paperwork when Wormtail walked in. Wormtail looked extremely scared. Lucius looked up and scoffed.
"What news do you bring me from Lord Voldemort?" Lucius asked dryly, as he wrote on some parchment.
Wormtail answered, "He says it was a job well done. Your son had just reported to him that he would help in the raid. Also, he said 'Bravo' to your little illusion spell. Draco must have been quite pathetic to believe you could Apparate in Hogwarts."
Lucius let out a dry laugh. "Yes he is quite. I must say Wormtail, I didn't think you had it in you."
Wormtail retreated a few inches back. "Excuse me?" Wormtail looked utterly confused.
Lucius got up and approached him. "Oh, just to walk into my house. Lord Voldemort had just sent me an owl. He said your job is done." He quickly took out his wand.
"I don't believe we'll be needing you anymore," Lucius said before a big flash of green light appeared. Wormtail fell to the ground and Lucius just laughed.

Ginny finally found Draco sitting under a large oak tree. Ginny approached Draco, who was lounging against the tree with his eyes closed.
"I thought you were looking for me," Ginny said as soon as she got into distance. Draco didn't move.
"Yes, I was. But I was getting tired, so I came here. I would think you would have found me sooner," Draco said, not flinching. Finally, he got up and faced Ginny. Ginny noticed that there was something different about the way he looked at her.
"What's wrong?" she asked, reaching out to touch his arm. He only retracted.
"This isn't going to work out," he said bluntly. Ginny gasped. 'This can't be true,' she thought to herself.
"You're joking right?"
"Would I joke about this? My father had just contacted me. He said he would spare my life, as well as yours, if I join his side," Draco said, looking very serious.
Ginny could feel the tears welling up in her eyes. "What?" she gasped. Draco smirked.
"You heard me. There are just some things you have to do. It's inevitable. You knew this would happen," Draco said. Ginny turned away.
"So what? You're going to up and leave? Become one of them? How could you?" Ginny nearly screamed, her voice choking up in her throat.
"Listen, I'm sorry about this. But this is what is going to happen, no matter what. Be reasonable Gin. Did you think that this would last forever?" Draco said, touching her arm. Ginny pulled away and backed up a few feet.
"Actually I did. I guess I was wrong. And don't try to apologize to me. An apology is just words! It means nothing. It means nothing like how I mean nothing to you!" she screamed as she ran away. Draco stood there.
"But you did mean something to me," he whispered, his voice carried out on the wind.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione were sitting in the common room when Ginny burst in. Her face was covered in tears. Harry stood up first, followed by Ron, then by Hermione. They watched as Ginny rushed up the stairs. Then they turned to each other. As if they could read each other's minds, they all went upstairs to see what was wrong.
When they found Ginny, she was sprawled on her bed, sobbing loudly. Hermione inched closer, but Ron stopped her. Instead, he walked towards her, finally sitting on her bed, patting her back. Ginny's sobbing ceased and she turned towards Ron.
"You were right, you all were right!" she gasped, before falling into her bed again. Ron looked at Hermione, then at Harry.
"Excuse me?" Ron asked. Ginny finally sat up, and wrapped her arms around her legs, as she swayed back and forth.
"He is nothing but a prick," she said, turning towards them. Hermione took a step forward, while Harry just stood there, his mouth open.
"You are not serious are you? I thought you were in love with him," Hermione said, reasonably. Ron sighed.
"What exactly happened?" Harry asked. Ginny turned towards him.
"He is becoming one of them!" she yelled, and she got off her bed. Harry took a step back.
"No," Harry said drifting. Hermione stared straight at Ginny and Ron just closed his eyes.
"It's true. He told me himself. The nerve of him trying to apologize!" Ginny said, moving towards her dresser. She pulled out a small picture frame, and threw it against the wall. The glass shattered into pieces. Hermione shuttered.
Ron approached Ginny and placed his hand on her shoulder. There they all stood, as Ginny began to cry, thinking about everything has become so delicate.
