28, November 1998 - evening

Hermione watched helplessly as the battle ended and Harry was struck down. She watched in horror as Voldemort stared silently and Harry's body fell to the ground like a rag doll. She knew then that all hope was lost. She knew that there was nothing to stop the murderous madman standing before them all, laughing like the lunatic he truly was. She knew at that very instant that she was done for, like the rest of them standing frozen, powerless, and defeated.

Knowing she was one of those in the most danger, Hermione quickly Disapparated.

When she arrived back at her flat, she picked up the nearest object and threw it against the wall. The vase shattered against the wall, spilling flowers and water all over the beige carpet. "WHY?" she screamed, dropping to her knees and sobbing. In that moment she hated Harry more than anything else in the world. Harry had died, he had failed, he had betrayed every one and every thing he'd held dear to him. He'd betrayed her.

And now Voldemort reigned on high with no one to oppose him.

Hermione sobbed even harder with the realization that there was nothing to protect her and the rest of the Muggle born witches and wizards. Nothing short of joining Voldemort anyway.

30, November 1998 - morning

Hermione stood silent with the rest of the Order of the Phoenix members who'd dared show as they buried Harry. Tears furiously falling down her cheeks, she swore to do whatever she possibly could to avenge Harry's death and save herself. Fury buried itself in her heart, replacing all feelings of betrayal, loss, and grief. Hatred for all things had taken over the sentimental side she'd once had.

Slowly, a lone figure from the crowd stepped forward and wrapped her arm around Hermione. "We haven't lost yet."

No, Hermione thought, and they haven't seen what we can truly do, either.

Hermione shrugged the girl off and walked away, fully intent on murdering any Death Eater that stood in her way or refused to give her the answers she would be looking for. She would find Voldemort. She would find him, and then she would cause him the pain that he had caused her.

Present day

Hermione sighed as she lit up a cigarette. She inhaled the deadly combination of chemicals and sighed. She looked up at the masked man with eyes that had become black with time. "So," she said expectantly. "What am I going to have to do to you before you tell me what it is I want to know?"

"I will never tell you," the man behind the mask spat.

"What bothers you more, Lucius?" Hermione asked. "That I have captured you or that I am a Mudblood?"

"There is nothing you could do to me that would make me tell you," he spat before trying to struggle against the spell Hermione had placed him under.

Hermione sneered as she shook her head. "Not what I wanted to hear," she said darkly, taking a drag from the cigarette and blowing the smoke in Lucius' face. The man coughed, unaccustomed to such a thing.

"I can always give you Veritaserum," she said softly. "Then you'll have no choice."

Lucius chuckled darkly. "You put too much faith in what you think you know," the blonde said with a sneer. "You think the Dark Lord hasn't thought of the ways to gather information? He uses more ways than you could possibly know to get people to tell him things, and he has blocked leaks using the techniques he uses for his own interrogation. Veritaserum won't help you."

"Fine," Hermione said simply. "Then I'll simply take the information from you," Hermione said softly, a smile playing on her lips.

She raised her wand to Lucius' temple and Lucius screamed in agony. Hermione smiled as she was gifted with the information she had been seeking. She smiled as the way to Voldemort's layer was revealed to her.

And then she dropped her wand in shock. "What?" she whispered.

Lucius, having seen what Hermione had, smiled and threw his head back in laughter. "And you thought he was your friend," he said in an almost drunken way.

"No," Hermione said strongly. "No, that's not possible!"

"Then why would it be in my memories?" Lucius asked.

"Harry was not a Death Eater!" Hermione screamed. She hit Lucius as hard as she possibly could, causing the older man's head to snap to the side. Her hair turned a shade darker than before.

"Harry was the best of us all," Lucius said before he turned his cold steely eyes back to Hermione's black ones. "That is why he died for the Dark Lord."

"Harry hated him," Hermione spat. "He hated the lot of you. Why would he join you?"

"Because he realized it was the only way to survive," Lucius said sardonically. "Too bad it cost him his life, wouldn't you agree?"

Hermione snatched her wand back up from the ground and held it to Lucius' throat. "Don't you dare speak of Harry like that," she ordered. "I swear to Merlin, I'll kill you."

Lucius laughed again. "How about a memory you didn't steal, Mudblood," he said mockingly. "How about the night your parents were murdered?"

Suddenly, Lucius had broken free of his magical bonds and had his hand around Hermione's throat. He used Legilimency to show Hermione exactly what had happened the night her parents were savagely murdered.

20, August 1997 - night

Lucius, Severus, and Bella stood behind Harry in the shadows of the street as he knocked on the door.

"Mr. Granger?" Harry asked when the dentist opened the door.

"Yes, may I help you?"

"My name is Harry Potter, I'm a friend of Hermione's," he said.

"Hermione doesn't live here anymore," the man said. "She lives with that Weasley family."

"Oh, I know," Harry said. "I'm actually here to talk to you and Mrs. Granger about her."

"What about?"

"Can we talk inside?" Harry asked. "It is rather chilly out here."

"Oh, yes, yes of course," Mr. Granger said, letting Harry in. The other Death Eaters followed, unseen.

The dentist led Harry into a sitting room where Mrs. Granger sat watching a television show and reading a book. She looked up as the two men entered the room. "Who's this?" she asked as Mr. Granger gestured for Harry to sit down.

"He's a friend of Hermione's," Mr. Granger said. "He's here to talk to us about her."

"Oh, are you Harry?" she asked.

Harry nodded. "She's told you about me?" he asked.

"Yes, she speaks very highly of you."

"Too bad you'll never see her again," Harry chuckled.

"What?" both Grangers asked in shock. Harry raised his wand and Mr. Granger was suddenly bleeding from multiple gashes all over his body. Lucius and the others revealed themselves and Bella cast Cruciatus on Mr. Granger while Lucius pointed his wand at Mrs. Granger and her clothes disappeared.

"Wait," Harry said as he noticed that Lucius looked ready to rape the poor woman. He turned and looked at Severus. "You," he said with a smirk.

Severus chuckled and walked over to the woman. She looked up at him terrified as her husband screamed from Bella's curse. Severus discarded his robes before he roughly pulled the woman from the sofa.

Bella took the curse off of Hermione's father and clenched her hand around his throat. "Now scream," she said, a hint of glee in her voice. Mr. Granger could do no more than whimper.

"You can do better than that," the female Death Eater said before she shoved her fingers into one of the gaping wounds in the dentist's arms.

Mr. Granger's screams were not the only ones heard. Lucius turned and saw Severus ravaging the other woman as she screamed. With a sneer, the Lord Malfoy joined the potion master in the rape, clawing, biting, and fucking her up the ass. She screamed in agony each time either man moved.

Harry was the one who eventually killed them and used the entrail-expelling curse on the two of them. They set up the couple at their kitchen table with their guts on their plates in front of them in a mockery of a normal family dinner.

Harry laughed as they stepped out of the house. He turned toward the house and pointed his wand to the sky. "Morsmordre," he said with an evil glint in his eye that shown from the full moon.

Severus and Harry kissed before Disapparating.

Present day

Hermione gasped as Lucius released his hold on her and stopped the memory from showing itself in her mind. She dropped to her knees gasping and sobbing. It was no wonder she had never been able to see her parents after the Aurors had recovered them. It was no wonder, now that she knew how they had been killed.

"I told you," Lucius said to the pitiful heap Hermione had become. "You put too much trust in how much you think you know."

Hermione screamed and stood, pressing her wand into Lucius' neck again. "AVADA KEDAVRA!" she screamed. Lucius Malfoy dropped dead.
