Chapter 01- Hey, what can I say?

A/N: I am fully aware that Lily is supposed to have blue eyes and Albus green, but I wrote this fic before I remembered this. I'm not too sure why, but I picture it the other way around. If any of my other descriptions don't match J.K's, the same reason applies ;) Enjoy!

The worst thing about being a Weasley? The hair! That damn flaming red hair! What's worse then being a Weasley? Being a Weasley-Potter, that's what! It was always going to be hard being the only daughter of Ginny Weasley, but Harry Potter's daughter? It's beyond unbearable, believe me! But that isn't even the beginning of it, oh no! People don't even realise Harry Potter is my Dad until they meet my brothers!! I don't resemble Dad much, you see. When I meet someone for the first time, they always say: "Ah, another Weasley!" I try to explain that I am in fact a Potter, but they always interrupt with "Are you Dominique? No, you look too young... Rose, maybe?" Then before I can even begin to reply, you can bet on it, they will exclaim: "But you have green eyes! You can't be a Weasley after all!" And they walk off, all upset. It's ridiculous. James and Albus don't have to put up with such rubbish. Nope, they get treated like royalty!

You might be wondering why my eye colour is significant to my life story. It's really rather simple. Every single one of my Uncle's have blue eyes. Plus Mum. So, a Weasley must therefore have blue eyes, right? My cousins all have blue eyes except Rose and Hugo, but Rose looks so much like Aunt Hermione (except her hair colour of course, the poor thing!) that people know she is a Weasley anyway. As for Hugo... well, he's just plain... Hugo! Such an odd boy, that one! (And, may I add, my best friend and favourite cousin.) Anyway, blue eyes plus red hair means a Weasley, understand?

What bugs me though is that James has green eyes too, though to be fair they aren't as vivid as mine. Hey, what can I say? I have great eyes! No-one questions his Weasley-ness! (Wow, that sounds kinda weird but hey, who cares? Not me, that's for sure!) Or his Potter-ness (Again- weird!) but why would they? You can just tell. He is a Harry Potter clone. Minus the specs.

Albus? He has the Weasley eyes but apart from that, he's a Potter clone too. No glasses either. Thankfully, we were not cursed with Dad's awful eyesight! (Cheers, Mum! I owe you one!)

It sucks being the baby of the family. Not only am I the youngest out of me and my brothers, I'm the youngest girl in my whole family. Thankfully, I'm not the youngest. I'm three months older than Hugo! I know, I know, It's only three months. But three months is important! Why? It just is, okay?!

I hate my family. It sounds harsh I know, but... oh, I don't know! I guess hate is too strong a word. I don't hate them. I do hate that I constantly get boys asking me to ask Dom out for them (and Vic, who graduated three years ago!) I hate how teachers expect me to be as brainy as Rose (I mean, come on! Give me a break! She is in Ravenclaw for a reason people!!) What I hate the most though is how no-one seems to like me for me. They just want to get to know my parents. It drives me insane.

"LILY!"

I jump in shock. How dare Hugo sneak up on me like that?!

"Hugo! Do not--"

The rest of my rant is muffled by his hand, which he has very rudely forced in front of my mouth. That can be re-arranged!!

"URGH! Lily, I can't believe you just spat!"

I shrug and laugh, mockingly. He did deserve it after all.

"DO NOT sneak up on me!"

Hugo hangs his head in mock shame. "Sorry, Ma'am."

"Apology accepted. Now shoo!"

"No can do!"

Growling, rather like a lion I imagine, I march up to my pathetic excuse for a cousin and punch him playfully on the shoulder.

"What was that for?!" Hugo exclaims, rubbing his arm.

"Dunno."

"Huh. Honestly, a guy tries to be a good friend and what does he get? A bloody punch!"

He sighs dramatically while I roll my eyes.

"HUGO!"

We spin round to see Rose, my cousin and Hugo's sister (Who also happens to be Head Girl) thundering towards us, steam pouring from her ears. (Not literary of course.)

"Language! What would Dad say?"

I burst out laughing.

"I imagine he would congratulate Hugo on his amazing impression of him!" I pipe out. Hugo grins at me and gives me a thumbs up.

"I highly doubt that!" she huffs.

"What are you doing in Griffindor tower?" Hugo questions Rose.

"I... Well, I... I have every right! I AM HEAD GIRL!"

I decide that now would be a good time to leave. Patting Hugo on the arm in encouragement I breeze past them and head outside. I should really wait for Hugo. Oh well!

It's the Quidditch tryouts. Every single member of my family is either on the team, or has been. Obviously, this excludes Aunt Hermione, Victoire and Rose. I mean, can you seriously imagine any of them on a broomstick? Ha! Anyway, I'm going to try out as Beater. I have absolutely no reason behind such a decision, other than that none of my cousins are Beaters. (Fred is Seeker, Dominique and Albus are Chasers.) To be fair, my Uncle George and his twin Fred were Beaters but... never mind! Everyone expected me to try out in my second year as either a seeker or a chaser, but instead I have wanted until now (Fifth year). I have a perfectly reasonable explanation for this. You see, I have tried so hard not to be like everyone else and be into Quidditch. I have waited long enough. I can't control my need to fly for a moment longer. (Plus, it does help that my crush is the new captain!!!)
