"Ginny... I told you it'd be too dangerous for you to go out with me.
Voldemort would use you to get to me and if that happened I would never forgive myself if you got hurt"
"But it's not dangerous for Ron and Hermione to be your friends! HARRY
JAMES POTTER, you had better not be planning to skip your seventh year at Hogwarts to go and do dangerous things like going after Voldemort and get those Horcrux things."
Harry, Ron, and Hermione had just been in Ron's room discussing that very same topic and they all looked shocked at her knowing about it. All except for Hermione who got a very pink tinge in her cheeks that was slowly turning to a deeper red as Harry and Ron both turned around and starred at her with accusing glares.
"How did my sister know about that, Hermione?"
"I'm sorry. She made me tell her. I only told her how I wasn't going to see her next year, then one thing led to another and she threatened me with her bat-boogey hex."
"That's right and I've decided that I'm coming with you," Ginny said as
Ron and Harry jumped to their feet.
"No you are not. It's too dangerous, Ginny," Harry said.
"Ginny, you're my little sister and I forbid you to go."
"Oh stuff it, Ronald Weasley. I'm not a little girl and it's no more dangerous for me to go than for Ron and Hermione to go, Harry. Besides if you don't let me go I'll tell Mom and she'll be sick with worry about you three and you don't want that do you?"
The trio had nothing to say to that and all gave in concluding that it would be a dreary summer-break if they didn't give in and had to deal with Ginny's scorn and Mrs. Weasley's fretting. The four then planned together how they would sneak off from the Burrow after Bill and Fleur's wedding so that they could go to Godric's Hollow before they started off to search for the final four Horcruxes. They had no idea where to search except for where Voldemort had victims. Now with
Dumbledore dead and Snape having shown his true colors at last they had to be very careful.
On Bill and Fleur's big day the four packed lightly and readied their broomsticks. Harry had bought Ron, Ginny, and Hermione all faster brooms so that they could keep up with him on his Firebolt. Ginny was a bridesmaid with Fleur's little sister and Ron was a groomsman along with his other brothers with the exception of Percy who didn't even get an invitation which caused more tears from Mrs. Weasley. Mr. Weasley was to give Fleur away as her parent's wouldn't come to the wedding so it left Harry and Hermione to comfort Mrs. Weasley as her son said his vows. Bill still hadn't healed completely from Greyback's attack so he was as scarred as ever.
"So we're leaving tonight then?" whispered a rather anxious Hermione.
"Yeah right after the reception," Harry whispered back.
"Don't you think we should say something to Mrs. Weasley?"
"No, she'll only hold us back and stall the trip. We'll just leave her a note."
"A note?" Hermione whispered loudly causing Mrs. Weasley to look over for a second. "A note? That's all? She deserves more. She'll be so worried about us, especially Ron and Ginny. And you're like a son to her."
"Don't you think I feel bad about only leaving a note? She's like the mother I never had to me and I'm gonna miss her, but none of you have to come along. I thought I already told you that," Harry whispered angrily causing Mrs. Weasley to actually turn around and 'shhh' them.
"Sorry," the two whispered to her in unison.
"I'm sorry, Harry. I know we can only leave her a note. It's just that, well, I'm scared, Harry. I'm really scared."
"Yeah, I'm scared too, especially now that there's no Dumbledore around to help us. But at least you have Ron to comfort you."
"About that Harry, you know you have Ginny. She understood why you broke up with her but she was still heartbroken. And I don't want to sound like a shrink or anything but, Harry, you need someone right now who you can comfort and who can comfort you in return. You should give her another chance because she is right; it's not that much more dangerous to be your girlfriend than your friend. I'm sorry to lecture but you and Ginny belong together."
"Just like you and Ron belong together," Harry said in return and with that he remained quiet thinking about what Hermione had said and flushing when he realized that he had been wrong and really wanted Ginny back.
As they all silently returned from the wedding reception they said their good nights with more emotion knowing that they wouldn't see Mr. and Mrs. Weasley for a long time. They were all slightly depressed as they finished packing and then Ron, Hermione and Harry shrunk the packs and they all took their own pack and stuffed it into their robes and they pulled on their traveling cloaks. They then tucked away their wands and left down to the broom-shed to grab their brooms.
"Hey Ginny, can you wait up a sec, I want to talk to you," Harry said with a knowing glance from Hermione as her and Ron went off ahead to get the brooms.
"What is it?" Ginny asked giving Harry a smile that melted his heart and left him speechless for a second.
"Erm...Ginny, I...er... Ginny, I thought about what you said and I realized I've been stupid and can you ever forgive me? Because I was wrong and I don't ever want to be without you because... I love you, Ginny Weasley."
Ginny stood there for a moment as if considering him and then leapt at him as she said, "I love you too, Harry Potter," and she continued kissing him until Hermione and Ron came back with Ron looking away determinedly and Hermione fighting back laughing as she said, "This is no time for snogging, we have head off soon."
"Er... right. We should get going, everyone ready?" Harry asked while he was blushing. Ginny and Hermione were smiling and desperately trying not to laugh at Ron's face which was looking confused as he was trying to figure out how to react to his little sister and best mate snogging. Ron finally decided to act as though nothing had happened and so he helped Hermione get on her broom and show her how to control it. Harry helped Ginny onto her broom even though she was a pretty experienced flier and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. Ron seeing this decided he should say something said, "Look you can snog as much as you like just not in front of me."
"Then look away," Ginny answered back causing everyone to laugh and Ron smile.
"Fine then but, Harry, if you hurt her I'll have to kick your ass, even if you're my best mate."
"Ron, I could never hurt Ginny because I care about her too much," and saying this Harry received another kiss from Ginny and a smile from Ron.
A light came on in Mr. and Mrs. Weasley's room followed by another light turning on in the bathroom next door.
"Right, we should hurry. Ginny, did you leave them the note?" Ron said.
"Whoops, no I haven't. I'll be right back; I'll just leave it in the kitchen."
"Oh, Hermione, did you find out where exactly Godric's Hollow is?" Harry asked.
"Hold on," Hermione started fumbling with a map, "Its southwest from here but I think we should stop in this little town for a rest. There's an inn there and a wizard runs it so we should be fine there. It'll take us about two hours to get there and then Godric's Hollow will probably be another two or three hours from there."
"No we shouldn't stop we can rest in Godric's Hollow. When Mum and Dad wake up and find out we've left they'll put out a search so that all the witches and wizards in the area will be on the lookout for us. We'd be better off in a muggle inn and so we'll have to be careful about our broomsticks because they'll cause some interesting questions if we're not." Ron added.
Then Ginny came hurrying back, "Mum and Dad might check our rooms so we should set off quick like now."
"Southwest right? OK then, everyone mounted? Good, I'll lead, everyone be careful and stick right together." Harry said.
"Right Captain," Ron said sniggering, then got an elbow form Hermione a moment later and shut up.
"Sorry, I was just joking," Ron said.
"Lead the way Harry," Ginny encouraged, smiling at him so that his spirit lifted with his broom did.
As Harry set off, Ginny went right beside him and Ron helped Hermione kick off and stayed right at her side so she wouldn't fall. So with them partnered off in their own pairs they set off for Godric's Hollow, all of them mixed up in their own thoughts and forgetting about the cold.
