Willow's Story

Chapter 5

"Pride is my worst fault."

Willow straightened herself to the maximum. She stood with her back ramrod-straight; she knew that in her real Watcher form she was tall, she didn't know exactly. Willow walked towards the castle. She held her head high as she climbed the stone steps up to the front door. The door was gigantic. Willow put the palms of her hands on the bronze handles, as just going to push them open a white ball of energy appeared around her hands and the doors creaked open of their own volition. Willow looked at her hands in surprise, and then she shrugged. Willow had just stepped through the titanic sized doors when then creaked back to their place.

Willow continued her ascension to a pair of doors covered in ornate carvings. This time, as she reached the doors she didn't even have the time to place her hands on the doors before the strange white energy balled around her hands and pushed the doors open. Willow saw that there in front of her was a Hall that was so big and important looking that she was impressed by it. She squared her shoulders and stepped through the doors. In a fraction of a second all the eyes in the room were fastened on her. Willow decided that it would be best to just ignore them.

Willow strode with large confident steps towards the Head-Table. She walked right up to it and looked at each of the people in front of her in turn, most of them turned away in shame or blushing from her glance. She knew why. They were afraid of her. They shouldn't be. She wasn't going to eat them. She was analyzing their auras. As got to the middle, she found a person who didn't turn away from her. She smiled satisfied.

"I am very sorry to intrude, sir, but are you the Headmaster of Hogwarts?"

The old man in question sighed.

"Yes, Watcher. What do you want?"

" I want to talk to you about a very important issue. In private."

"Please wait outside the Hall, I'll be there presently."

Willow nodded and turned on her heel and strode back out of the Hall. She heard the Headmaster excusing himself. He was standing beside her. He led her towards a gargoyle. He muttered what could only be a password to it. It jumped aside to reveal some stairs that clearly led to his office. The Headmaster opened the door and led her in.

"You raised quite a riot there, Watcher. It was very foolish of you to come here. Don't you know that as a Watcher you are not welcome in this world? Most people despise your race."

"I am aware of that, considering their reactions at being analyzed. I wasn't even trying to read them. Pathetic. There was only one of them who didn't act as repulsed by me. I have encountered someone like him only once before. In fact I think that it was the same person. He had the same sort of aura. It was half black, half white."

"Who was it? What did they look like? Where did you encounter them?"

"He was a hooked-nosed man with greasy black hair. I saw him first at a meeting that a thing called Lord Voldemort had organized."

"Ah, so you have already met Severus Snape. He is a spy of mine. However I think that it was not a question of auras that you wished to discuss with me..."

"Correct, Headmaster. In fact, I am here for a mission."

The Headmaster leaned forwards slightly.

"Go on."

"A mission concerning a boy named Harry Potter, his true love and myself. I am the only one to be able to stop this Lord Voldemort. You see this monster is planning to kill the boy's true love in order to destroy the boy himself, and then he will kill the boy. I don't know anything about this boy, I only know that he has more power than the Beast and that the Beast wants to destroy him. That's enough for me. I know that my loyalties lie on the other side, the side that will oppose me to this 'Lord'."

"You know, I know nothing about you, not even your name, how am I to trust you?"

"I don't know much about myself except that my name is Willow, I'm a Watcher and this 'Lord' wants my head on a platter."

"He wants your head on a platter?"

"Yes, apparently I'm the only Watcher left in this world and Watcher are the only things that can stop him."

"Well, I won't stop you Willow. In fact, I'll call Harry up here so you can meet him."

The Headmaster stood and took something from a pot over the hearth, a head appeared in the fire.

"Yes, Albus?"

"Minerva, could you be of the most immense service and send Harry up? Thank you."

The head disappeared.

"He should be up presently."

Willow heard footsteps on the stairs and a knock on the door. The Headmaster told the person to enter. A boy stood at the door. His hand on the handle. His emerald eyes took in the room. They widened slightly when they saw Willow. Willow knew his aura from somewhere. She knew not from where exactly.

"You wished to speak with me, Professor Dumbledore?"
