A Lily and James Story

Chapter 1: Summer Begins

Lily was kind of sad the summer was beginning. She loved her school, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She was a witch and had just ended her 7th and final year at Hogwarts. But she was also excited to begin the summer. She and her best friends Jennifer Black and Haley Groger were spending the summer at the Black's beach house in California. Well it was more like a mansion than a house. Lily was grateful for this, as her parents had died in a car crash in 5th year. She was also excited to meet Jenn's older brother Sirius and his friends. They had graduated a year before Lily and Lily had never really met them. They were a legend at Hogwarts for their pranks and good looks.

"Jenn, are you sure your parents don't mind us staying the WHOLE summer," Lily asked.

"They're fine with it. Quit worrying. And hurry up and get dressed. We have to leave in a half hour." They were driving from their apartment as the home was in a muggle area and Haley was petrified of flying on planes. But the three girls didn't mind. They loved road trips. Especially when they were driving Lily's red BMW convertible.

Lily put her long straight red hair in ponytail and finished her make-up. All three girls were very pretty. Lily with her long hair, brilliant green eyes and pale complexion. Jenn with her dark hair she kept shoulder length, ice blue eyes and petite frame. But she had temper to make up for her lack of height. Haley had blonde hair that could either be blow-dried straight of let dry wavy. She had hazel eyes and was, like Lily, average height.

"What should I wear, my white capris and pink halter or jean skirt and yellow spaghetti strap shirt?" Lily asked the girls.

"Well, I'm wearing a khaki skirt and olive top so go with the capri outfit," Jenn answered.

"What happened to Haley? I haven't heard her in a while," Lily said coming out of the walk-in closet/dressing room and looking for her friend.

"I'm here! I was looking for my blue strapless sundress. Have any of you seen it?" Haley came out in a towel.

"Yeah, I think it's in my closet," Jenn answered. The girls not only shared their huge New York City apartment but everything else. They were like sisters.

After Haley put on her clothes the three friends got into Lily's car. They blasted their music and got ready for a long road trip.

James slowly opened his eyes and immediately closed them. The bright California sun glared in his eyes. He turned to his clock. It was 12:00. This was early for an 18-year-old wizard. Well at least for James. He was at his best friend Sirius Black's summerhouse in California, USA. James was from England so the funny accents of the Americans were highly entertaining.

He glanced around the room. Sirius was absent but Remus was sound asleep. The full moon was 3 days away so Remus was feeling like Hippogriff shit. See Remus was a werewolf, so every full moon he transformed into a monster. Only a few people new. James and his friends figured it out back when they were at Hogwarts. They had become animagi to keep him company during the full moon.

James got up quietly as to not disturb his friend and went down to find Sirius. Sirius was most likely in the kitchens as all he thought about was food. Thinking about food made James hungry and he could smell the fabulous food the house elves made.

"Hey James, finally decided to get up?" Sirius asked. He was, strangely, a morning person. Actually Sirius was an every time of the day person. He was always hyper.

"Yeah, well we did get to bed late last night. What's for breakfast?" he asked, sitting next to Sirius eagerly.

"You mean lunch?" Sirius grinned.

"Yeah whatever." James dug into the food as if he hadn't eating for ages.

"Guess who's joining us?" Sirius asked.

"Um, Snape?" James guessed sarcastically.

"No Jenny and her friends." Sirius and his sister had an odd relationship. Even though they were close in age Sirius was very overprotective of her. But they got along most of the time.

"Who are her friends?" James asked, hoping her friends were hot. Jenn was only a year younger then them.

"You may remember them. They're inseparable. There's Haley who's blonde and very pretty, Lily who's a red head and a lil' spitfire. Got one temper she does. They all graduated this year and were in Gryffindor." As he said this a red BMW convertible pulled up, blasting muggle music. The driver was a very sexy red head.

"That's them!" Sirius ran out to great them followed by James.
