Cheating Possibility
Harry hauled his trunk out of the car and into the house. Aunt Petunia held the door open for him as if he was a timed nuclear bomb. The Dursleys had treated him that way all through the car journey. Dudley had even offered Harry sweets and money to leave him alone.
Uncle Veron watched tensely as Harry moved his trunk into his room.
"Well, lad listen up, don't be doing some trick on your cousin or me or Petunia and you can do what ever else you like in the house," said the big beefy man.
"Fine, Uncle," replied Harry lightly, "can I have my things in my room?" It was really a demand and he had already hauled it up. This was going to prove to be a good summer.
"Sure, fine, as you like lad," answer Vernon and positively fled from the room. Harry sat down on the bed, which had replaced the old mattress. There was a new writing desk, as well as a wardrobe and a chair. He started to unpack and arranging his wardrobe. He was going to have some fun this holiday. As he unpacked he thought of all the memories of the previous year, the tournament, the press sandals, the death of Cedric and something he tried not to think about, the resurrection of Lord Voldemort. Harry had been warned so many times by his friends to be careful but he wasn't important, they were. Hermione's family didn't stand a chance against Voldemort and Ron's family would be attacked without mercy. He felt it was entirely his fault that Cedric was dead, Voldemort was back and his friends in put in danger no matter how many times they told him it wasn't. They were very surprised that Dumbledore had allowed Harry to go back to the Dursleys and they tried to change his mind but he was unmovable, though he did hint that Harry wouldn't be there for long. Harry hoped desperately that he could go and stay at the Weasleys. He finished unpacking and set about doing his potion's essay
Harry came down to the kitchen to the voice of Petunia calling him. The table was set for four with numerous types of food. He sat down in one of the chairs and Aunt Petunia severed him just about everything on the table apart from some things that he didn't like. Harry thanked her and hid a smile at her terrified expression. He really must thank the twins for their joke. He ate hurriedly as he couldn't bear the intense silence at the table. Suddenly the doorbell rang once...twice... three times. Aunt Petunia cautiously went to the door and opened it. A shrill scream was heard seconds later. There was a mad rush to see what had happened. There standing in the doorway, his figure blocking out the setting sun, his face set in a menacing expression, was Professor Snape with a smiling Dumbledore behind him. Harry stopped dead and so did everyone else.
"Don't dawdle Potter," Snape snapped, "pack your trunk now, Dumbledore and I are taking you back to Hogwarts."
"We tried to find other arrangements for you but I'm afraid it was impossible so you will be staying at Hogwarts for the meantime," explained Dumbledore with a twinkle in his eyes. "I hope you don't mind Mr. and Mrs. Dursley,"
"N-n-no, t-take him," stuttered Vernon.
"Potter don't just stand there get your things," barked Snape looking positively livid. Harry snapped out of his coma and hurried up stairs. It's was better than he had hoped, a whole summer in Hogwarts even if the Dursleys were treating him nicely. He hurriedly threw all his belongings into his trunk and dragged it downstairs.
"I'm ready Professors," panted Harry and he hauled his trunk into the driveway.
"Well, Harry aren't you going to say goodbye?" asked Dumbledore, "I'm very sorry you can't spend more time with him but it is for his own safety," he said to the Dursleys.
"Well, bye," muttered Harry. The Dursleys simply looked at him with expressions of hatred and horror on their faces.
"Potter said goodbye, would you care to answer?" asked a rather surprised Snape, "after all you won't be seeing him for another year,"
"Goodbye," said Vernon, forcefully prying the words from his mouth. Harry smiled, that was good for the Dursleys and why had Snape just defended him? He didn't ponder for long as the door slamming interrupted him.
"Come along Harry, the portkey's just around the corner," said Dumbledore briskly. They walked in silence, Dumbledore in front and Snape and Harry behind tagging Harry's trunk. As they rounded the corner they saw something that made their blood run cold. A dozen Death Eaters were blocking their way and in the center stood Lord Voldemort in his red eyed glory,
"Well, well, well, fancy meeting you here Professor Dumbledore and Harry too."
"Tom please step out of the way, or else," said Dumbledore injecting as much force as possible into his voice.
"Or else what, maybe..." Voldemort raised his wand, "Avada Kedavra?"
