- This is my first chapter fanfic. please review honestly so that I know if I should keep writing this story. Also a huge Thanks to Remus's Nymph for beta reading for me. I'll do better next time!
Ron left for Fleur's room feeling angry that Hermione never told him about her secret burning desire for Snape. However, he pointed out to himself, he was not in the least bit jealous. Did this mean he was over Hermione? He wondered about this for a bit until he entered into Fleur's classroom. After that, he stopped worrying about anything at all.
Once again, Fleur looked amazing. She was wearing robes of a
light powder blue that flashed gold at certain angles. The front of
her hair had been pulled back into a superb bun excepting a few
artfully placed strands that were left to dangle. Her bun was held in
place by chopsticks that were made of a blue crystal and gold bands
around the tops and bottoms.
Ron suddenly yelled "YOWZA! Are you a sun ray? 'Cause you're
dazzling!" Fleur looked at him skeptically. "Fred and George told me
that one." Ron mumbled as his ears went red.
Fleur chose not to comment. "Let's just go," she said, trying
very hard not to laugh.
~*~*~*~
When they got to Jean Delacour, Fleur's father's restaurant, Ron
told her about what he'd witnessed on his way to pick her up.
"That explains why you were late," Fleur said, smiling sweetly at
him. Then her expression suddenly became serious and she said, "So, how
does this information make you feel?"
"Well, I'm angry that Hermione never told me..." Ron said, thinking how best
to put his feelings. "But I'm not jealous or anything at all. I think I'm over her."
Fleur tried not to seem too excited. "Really? Any new interests?"
"Yeah, as a matter of fact, there is," Ron answered slyly. Of course this new interest of his was her, but he enjoyed messing with her.
"Oh, do tell me who it is, Ron!" Fleur replied to this statement. "Come on, you
know you can trust me!"
"Well," Ron said carefully, smiling at her anticipation. "It's someone at work."
"Who at work? Is it someone I know?" Fleur asked.
"You tell me," Ron said, leaning in to kiss her. Their lips moved delicately at
first, but soon they were more comfortable and Fleur slipped Ron the tongue. They
seemed to have forgotten that they were in a public restaurant. Her father's public
restaurant, in fact.
Suddenly, a voice behind them sounded. "Ahem!"
Fleur and Ron looked around to find themselves face-to-face with a large,
muscular man with a small black mustache that was curled at the ends. Fleur
mumbled something in French that sounded like,"Oh non, mon, pere!"
"So!" this man said, beaming down at the two of them,"Finally my daughter
has found herself a man! Tell me, who is this charming young man you are with,
Fleur?"
Fleur and her father conversed rapidly in French. Mr.Delacour was grinning
widely and Fleur looked quite uncomfortable. After what felt like forever The two
stopped talking and turned to look at Ron. Fleur formed the words "Just act normal"
silently with her lips as her father started talking.
"Congratulations on a fine catch!" he started. Fleur covered her face in her
hands. "She's a very good girl, don't let her get away!" He shook Ron's hand and
became suddenly serious and lowered his voice. "But if you hurt my baby girl in any
way, I'll kill you." he smiled at Fleur and walked off.
~*~*~*~
After a very involved good night kiss, Ron was walking back to his office
when he heard another of his friend's voices from behind an ajar door, this time
belonging to Harry.
"So, what do you say?" Harry asked. Ron peered inside to find Harry sitting
with Alicia. Ron knew he shouldn't be looking, but he wanted to witness this too
badly. It was his best friend after all.
"Wow, Harry, I-" she suddenly cut herself off to fling her arms around Harry's
neck and give him a searing kiss.
"Boy is it hot in here!" Ron yelled out of the blue. The two of them turned to look at him angrily. "Did I just say that out loud?" he asked sheepishly. He decided he'd better go before they ate him alive.
~*~*~*~
The next day was the start of the winter holidays. It had snowed heavily the
previous night and you could still see the occasional snowflake fall from the sky.
Ron and Harry had gotten Hermione, Fleur, and Alicia to join in a snowball fight.
Everyone seemed to be out to get Fleur. They were determined to see her being
ungraceful for a change. She was just as graceful as ever, though, and she danced
around each snowball with ease. Ron had a sudden urge to kiss her as he watched
those catlike motions. He suddenly flung his keys over in Fleur's direction and yelled,
"Fleur, can you get those for me, love?" When she approached him with the keys, he
pulled her into a not-so-sweet kiss. She forgot all about the keys and dropped them
as she reached up to grab his ears and pulled him closer.
"Hey, snoggers!" they heard someone yell, and they were broken apart as
they both were hit squarely in the mouth by a speeding snowball.
"Thanks a bunch, Harry," Ron said sarcastically as he wiped his mouth. The
rest of them started laughing and eventually they joined in too.
