Sisterly Love

By Heaven Leigh Gordon

Part I. A Bit of a Back-Story

Padma and Parvati Patil were sisters -- twin sisters. Identical twins. They looked exactly the same on the outside; however, they were very, very different people essentially (perhaps the reason they were separated into different Houses). The twins shared bonds that no other siblings really shared; they told each other secrets and jokes, and even had a sort of 'code' they used to keep other people from figuring out what they were talking about.

They each had traits the other envied; Padma wished she were brave like her sister, and Parvati wanted Padma's intelligence and great use of logic. But when they were about fifteen, the twins started noticing their own (and, subsequently, one another's) physical beauty. They realized that their identical bodies were one of the only things they had in common. The twins shared the same long, straight black hair, dark eyes, and curvy bodies that most men considered 'perfect'.

They don't even remember how it started, but they know it was shortly after their fifteenth birthday. The 'sisterly touch' began to linger a bit longer; they hugged a little tighter, stole glances at one another when nobody was looking. Sure, they knew it was wrong and sinful. They'd be disowned if their family found out. But after a while, it ceased to matter to them. Padma and Parvati began to realize that they didn't just love each other as sisters.

They were in love with one another.

Part II. July 1997

Padma, I need the box labeled 'kitchen,'" Parvati hollered down the hall at her twin sister.

"It's in the bathroom."

"Uh... okay." The 'older' Patil twin went into the small bathroom of the flat she and her sister were moving into, and sure enough, there was a large box bearing the word 'kitchen' in large black print. "Dare I ask why this was in the bathroom?" Parvati asked, somewhat annoyed.

"Well, I figured that since you're so unorganized," Padma said, leaning against the door frame, "The box was probably filled with bathroom essentials."

"Well, you were wrong," Parvati countered, opening the box. It was filled with face creams, toilet paper, and various other necessities. "Shit."

"Ha."

"Shut up."

"Make me."

"Don't tempt me."

"Ooh... is that a threat?"

"Er, can we have sex after we finish unpacking the sex toys? Please?" Parvati grinned at her sister.

"Sure thing," Padma laughed.

Soon enough, nearly every box had been unpacked and most everything was put away. There were plates in the cabinets and clothes in the dressers. It wasn't long, though, before Padma realized something.

"Uh... Parv?"

"Yeah?"

"We don't have a bed."

"You just figured that out?"

"Well, yeah."

Parvati chuckled. "And I thought you were the smart one. Mum's giving us two beds next week, but she said we have to share the sofa until then. Remember?"

"Not ringing any bells..."

"Never mind, then. We have to sleep on that ugly, uncomfortable sofa until next week when Mum and Dad bring our beds."

"Beds?" Emphasis on the 's'.

"Yeah. She said it's not, uh, normal for sisters to share a bed after they turn 17. So we'll just share anyway," Parvati said, grinning.

Padma came behind her sister and rested her chin on Parvati's shoulder. Wrapping her arms around Parvati's waist, she said, "We've done a lot today."

"Yes, we have," Parvati's breath quickened as Padma kissed her neck softly.

"We deserve," Padma turned her sister's head to face her own, "A break."

"Y-yes, we do," Parvati breathed.

Padma then touched her lips to her sister's, gently at first, feather light. Parvati broke the kiss for a moment, though, to turn around and face her sister completely, snaking her arms up around Padma's neck. She kissed her twin again, this time a little longer, a little deeper, and eventually identical tongues intertwined and identical hands caressed identical bodies. Parvati took Padma's hand and led her to the sofa that sat in the front room. She sat down slowly, gently pulling her sister down with her. Padma turned the tables by pushing Parvati onto her back and beginning to unbutton her blouse. She kissed the area between her sister's full breasts, and as she continued to unbutton the shirt, she kissed each inch of skin as it was exposed. Parvati's voice was barely a whisper when she said to her sister, "I love you."

"I love you too, Parvati. More than you'll ever know," was Padma's reply as she leaned down over her sister and kissed her once more.
