As I walked into the Leaky Cauldron I inspected its inhabitants. The old bartender was there as usual. Several of Hogwarts students sat around, relaxing after an afternoon of shopping for school. I myself graduated two years ago and remembered how I too was once sitting at those tables, talking with my fellow Slytherins about the Dark Lord's coming. We were dumb and young, two combinations that seem to always go together. I learned my lesson during the war, and it came at a price that I wasn't prepared to pay. I saw the result of the life my father chose and, as glamorous it had once seemed, that's how hideous it became to me in one tragic instant. And as I watched the young people, thinking of the next menacing terror that would come up in their time or maybe even their children's time, they would have to make the same hard decisions I did--and probably loose some of the loved people I did.

Turning my mind back to The Leaky Cauldron, a suspicious, mysterious creature sat near the entrance to Diagon Alley. She was in all black, black leather. Her eyes and hair matched her complimenting clothes, smooth and black. I looked at her and smirked; she certainly had potential to be my next conquest, or at least someone to have fun with. I wasn't too surprised when her lips curled up into a feminine smile directed solely at me. She slowly stood up and began walking to me, her hips swaying with each step.

"Well, hello." Her voice seemed to ooze to my ears as her black, hollow eyes locked onto my gray ones.

"Hmm, aren't you something? Tall, blonde," she touched an ivory hand to my face. Her fingers were long and elegantly shaped and they were familiar to me, I just couldn't place where from. "and handsome. So, stranger, do you plan to gawk at me or buy me a drink?" she asked, the corners of her ruby red lips coming into a small smile.

We walked over to the bar and I did buy her a drink. Then another, then another. Before long I was drunk and she, being the incredible creature she was, simply looked at me with the utmost arrogance and tolerance. I looked at her and somewhere in my drunk mind things began clicking into place. I pulled her over and whispered in her ear, things I wouldn't repeat, and she pulled from me, the arrogant look returned as she caught my chin in her finely shaped hand. She looked at me as is appraising me, as I had done to many women in my day, complete with the same shallow regard she held me in. She brought her lips to mine and firmly kissed mine then backed away. She winked at me and promptly turned around, walking back into Diagon Alley. I watched her retreating hips and looked at the mass of black curls just above them. Then, like cold water, it occurred to me who she was.

"I never knew Severus Snape had a daughter!" I exclaimed drunkenly to no one in particular.

Author notes: This was one of my first pieces of writing I wrote and just recently happened to run across it again. I know that you're probably wondering about one or two things and I might write a series of short little stories like this that explain this stuff. It depends on your feedback!
