Pearl Evans was a quiet woman, elegant and graceful in her manner and speech, always sure of herself, but quietly inside doubting everything she did. The mother of four girls and six boys, she was forced into the life of housekeeping and drudgery, not the sort of life Pearl would have chosen for herself at all.

Pearl Evans had found an escape from reality; although it was so naughty and forbidden she would have certainly been killed if she had been caught. Her own mother would be turning in her grave if she knew what she had done. All but her two youngest children had followed in their mother's dark footsteps.

Pearl was highly ashamed that she hadn't kept her children from it, that she hadn't protected them and made them stronger than she had been, but she was also very proud that they had voluntarily chosen the same path as her; The path of a Death Eater. Pearl would have started to introduce her youngest two, but the girls, Elizabeth and Petunia, were too young yet to be initiated, and Petunia was a squib.

Petunia Evans was a pleasant little girl, always polite and well mannered, never getting into unnecessary trouble except perhaps to defend her older sister by four years, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Evans, more often called Lilibet, was only ten years old, but even Pearl could see what a beautiful young woman she would be. Lilibet looked nothing like Petunia, who took on her deceased father's blonde hair and blue eyes, but instead took after her mother, with her stunning blood-red hair and deeply entrancing emerald eyes. But unlike Pearl's eyes, which were beautiful but hardened with the years of her hidden life of a Death Eater, Lilibet's seemed to dance with a hidden laughter of a secret none would ever know.

Lilibet Evans was set to start Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in September, but Pearl was worried whether she would be ready. All of the children attended an expensive finishing school before they attended Hogwarts, and none had passed with as good as grades as Lilibet had, but still Pearl was worried.

Lilibet was a powerful witch, was as graceful and elegant in her manner and speaking as her mother was, was fluent in twelve different languages, including a form of ancient elvish, could do almost any form of dance invented, but still Pearl was worried. Lilibet was as good a daughter as she could have, but there was something in her that made Pearl disgusted. Lilibet had a fierce sense of loyalty, and when she truly trusted someone she would defend them to the death. Pearl was against this, naturally, with her belief that you should only play for the winning team. Lilibet's older siblings now also shared this belief.

Five of Lilibet's older siblings attended Hogwarts, and all of them were of the Slytherin House. Victoria and Henry were in seventh year. Victoria looked just like an older version of Petunia, and Henry had his father's blonde hair and his mother's green eyes. Victoria was only 16 this year, after being accelerated to seventh year. Both Victoria and Henry were head boy and girl, making the Evans name one of esteem and pride.

Anne was a fifth year and a prefect and top of her year, such as the rest of the Evans students. She had her father's blonde hair and her grandmother's honey coloured eyes, and was offered wanted by most of the males at Hogwarts.

The youngest set of twins and the only male ones in the Evans family were fourteen-year-olds, Benjamin and Andrew. Equal tops of their year, and identical twins, with their father's blonde hair, blonde eyes, but Pearl's strong chin.

Three of Pearl's children had graduated from Hogwarts, all passing as top of their year and head boy or girl. Edward passed six years earlier, and got a job as an unspeakable at the Ministry of Magic. Lucy passed four years earlier, receiving a special grant to study magical medicine in lower Scotland. Hannah was freshly out of Hogwarts and got a job as an informer for the ministry, but Pearl knew where her true loyalties lay, and now Hannah Evans was one of Lord Voldemort's favourite and trusted Death Eaters.

Pearl loved all of her children, and was happy that they were doing so well, and pleased their Master as much as they were. She only hoped that Lilibet might do the same, and prove that Pearl Evans, despite being a widower, was the most powerful witch of all time.

Months passed and soon Elizabeth Margaret Evans was ready to start school. As Pearl readied the children for the Floo trip, she noticed the nervousness in Lilibet's eyes. Pearl petted Lilibet on the head.

"Don't worry dear, Hogwarts isn't scary, it's wonderful. The Slytherins will help you if anything goes wrong. They always look out for their housemates, particularly Evans'. Just one thing, dear, stay away from the Potter family. They're bad news. Not the sort us elegant, graceful Evans' would be friends with."

Elizabeth nodded. "I understand, Mother"

Pearl smiled and handed each of the children enough floo powder to get to Platform 9 and ¾. Elizabeth tossed hers delicately into the fireplace and said in a nice, clear voice, "Platform 9 and ¾!" then she disappeared through the fire, following the other Evans children.

Pearl smiled. 'Yes', she thought, 'Maybe Elizabeth will be a great asset to our Master. I just hope she doesn't talk to those Potter boys. They're trouble.'
