It felt as if he'd been running for hours, or at least running as best he could. His leg was hurting badly; the Stinging Hex still hadn't worn off. He limped through the fog with no idea where he was or where he was going. Disapparating wasn't an option; the man chasing him would know where he was going before he did. Damn Legilimency.

He limped on, hoping to lose his pursuer in the dense fog. He kept his eyes on the ground at his feet, until suddenly it wasn't there anymore. He had come to the edge of a steep cliff. The fog made it impossible to tell how steep, but now wasn't the time to find out. In a heartbeat his arms snapped to his sides. He couldn't move or dissaparate, even if it would have helped him. The man chasing him emerged from the fog in a black hood and cloak. His wand was raised, trapping Regulus Black in an Anti - Dissaparation jinx.

The Death Eater stepped forward and a terrible smirk appeared underneath his mask. This was it, now it was time for the kill. It was time to fulfil his master's orders.

Regulus pleaded for his life, "Severus, please don't do this! Please don't kill me!"

Snape's smirk grew bigger. "How disappointing! When you first came into the Dark Lord's service I had hoped you would be the exact opposite of your brother. How very disappointing indeed."

"My brother? Severus.....you wouldn't really kill me because of what my brother did to you?"

"I'm just doing my duty, Regulus, obeying my master's orders."

"Don't give me that crap!" sneered Regulus, his voice finding confidence. "I know why you want to kill me and it's not because of the Dark Lord's orders, oh no! They call me a coward and a traitor but that's nothing compared to you!" Snape assumed the youth was bluffing. This was just a ruse to get him to spare his miserable life. Snape decided to play along, for now.

"And just what am I, Regulus?"

"I know, Severus. You've been passing information to Dumbledore for years now! You betrayed the Dark Lord a long time ago! That's why you want to kill me, because I know all about you and your treachery!"

The smirk became a scowl.

"That's just another reason for you to die." Snape brought his wand round in a circular motion and cried,

"Wingardium Leviosa!" Regulus began to float several feet off the ground. Before he could get a word in, Snape shut him up.

"Silencio!" He then levitated Regulus over the edge of the cliff. The expression on Regulus' face said everything.

"I prefer to be creative with my orders," drawled Snape in a tone of boredom, "I was ordered to kill you but no one ever said how. Besides, this way your death cannot be traced back to me. Goodbye Sirius."

A quick twitch of his hand lifted the Levitation charm. The only sound Snape heard was the terrible thud as his victim hit the ground below.
