Catch Me If You Can!

Sirius sprinted from the dungeons all the way to Gryffindor Tower. Today was the day that the moon waned, which meant that if his calculations were correct, there would be one additional Gryffindor in the tower tonight. He was thinking about the layers of freshly fallen snow and wondering if it would hinder his return. He shook off these thoughts and the locks of unruly hair that fell into his eyes as he ran.

"Sirius for Merlin's sake man, he's not going anywhere," came the out of breath voice of his friend James Potter as he followed behind him. He was trying to keep up. Sirius just laughed.

"Wolfsbane," he shouted to the portrait of the Fat Lady, thinking to him self how appropriate. He bent over, a stitch in his side from running. She gave him a disapproving look and then swung open to reveal the opening that led to the Gryffindor common room. He nearly tripped crawling through which got him a laugh from a round face boy standing by the fireplace on the other side. "Shut up Peter," he said with a scowl as he steadied himself on the other side. "Why weren't you in potions?" he added as he headed toward the dormitory staircase.

Pettigrew stammered, "I, I went to the nurse after I fell off my broom in Flying Class."

However, Sirius hadn't heard a word of his babbling. He was all ready to the top of the boy's stairwell and was turning the doorknob on the fifth year dorm. "Ah ha!" he shouted opening the door expecting to find one recovering werewolf lounging comfortably on his four-poster. However, all he found was an empty dorm room.

Sirius' mischievous smile melted into one of concern. Had something gone wrong, was he still "ill?" He turned and was about to head toward the infirmary. Perhaps he could over hear Madam Pomfrey discussing his friend. He was suddenly pounced on from the rear. Remus hit Sirius around the waist and sent him tumbling onto the nearest four-poster. "Remus!" screamed Sirius trying to catch his breath as they rolled onto the bed. "You scared the hell out of me." Remus stopped rolling as he pinned the sizeable Sirius to the mattress and began to laugh loudly.

"You always were gullible," chortled Remus grinning widely.

"Yeah, well I'd push your ass into the floor if this wasn't where I intended to be all along," answered Sirius freeing one hand and pulling Remus down by his tie to kiss him.

Lupin pulled back, sighed, and then rolled over to lie next to Sirius just as the door to the dormitory burst open once more to reveal James and Peter. "They're at it again," moaned Peter.

"Just like rabbits," said James plopping down next to Remus and Sirius. He grinned and threw his books across to the next bed. "I see you made it through another moon cycle Remus." Lupin grinned and ran his fingers through Sirius' hair.

"I just kept thinking about Sirius lips," he said and then he ran his tongue over his own.

"Yes I'm sure," chuckled James. "I thought for sure we were going to have to hose Sirius down a few times. I'll be glad when we get this Animagi thing down so we can be together all the time."

Sirius rolled over and ran a finger down Remus' cheek. "Just think, then we can do it doggie style." Remus sniggered and James rolled his eyes. Pettigrew had picked up a pillow and was stroking it rather oddly.

"Peter!!" called James.

"Oh, sorry," said Peter dropping the pillow. The trio laughed and then they all four sat up.

"Really glad you're all right Remus," said James seriously. Lupin smiled.

"Cheers," he replied as Sirius wrapped one arm around his shoulder.

"You are looking a bit pale though," decided Sirius after some consideration.

"He's right," said James looking mischievous. Remus' eyebrows raised and he began to back up on the bed.

"Yes I'd say that this calls for some drastic measures," said Sirius stifling a chuckle. "Perhaps a winters solace ritual." Pettigrew was giggling like a first year girl.

"No, now, James, Sirius, I have almost a weeks worth of homework to catch up on. Not to mention that it's my first day back and I'm really not up to par yet," he continued sliding toward the opposite side of the four-poster. James and Sirius grinned at each other and then they each grabbed one of his arms.

"Remus you know that while you were gone the first snow of the season fell," reported James.

"And you know there's a tradition with the first snow," continued Sirius.

"They're right Remus. It's a tradition," said Peter looking a bit put out. "It's your turn," giggled Peter. James and Sirius lifted Lupin off the bed, began dragging him across the dormitory, and out the door while Peter cackled and grabbed their cloaks and scarves.

"Damn it you two. This is a humiliating. I don't see your asses doing this year after year," griped Remus as they dragged him across the Common Room.

People had begun to return from classes. They were cheering James and Sirius on as they made their way across the Common Room, pulling Remus with them.

"Perhaps because we're bigger than you and Peter," proposed James.

"Cute," said Remus as they pulled him through the hallway toward the front entranceway. "You know Sirius," he said as they drew closer to the front hall. "I could refuse to shag you for a week. Or maybe even a month."

"You wouldn't," said Sirius smugly. "You can't go that long without me."

"Don't bet on it," said Remus knowing full well that Sirius was right. James sniggered. They had made it to the front entrance hall. They stopped.

"All right strip!" said Sirius chuckling. Peter continued to giggle like a first year girl. Remus fumed.

"I wont!" he said standing his ground.

"Come on Remus don't make us take your clothes off," said Sirius, his eyes twinkling. Remus glared at Sirius and then his lips softened into a smile.

"You'll have to catch me first," he said taking off toward the front doors that had just opened up to allow some third year girls to come in from the billowing snow.

"Damn you Remus!" yelled Sirius laughing loudly as he sprinted after him into the freshly fallen snow. James and Peter watched them for a moment, then after a shrug began to follow.

Lupin continued to laugh as he ran through the snow and toward the Forbidden Forrest. "You can't catch me," he called back stopping occasionally to taunt Sirius.

"Remus you're going to pay for this," he warned dragging his feet through the snow. It was thoroughly irritating to him that Lupin was so graceful. He had just contemplated this last thought when he lost his footing and fell face first into a fluffy white bank. "Bloody hell," he cussed pushing him self up and finding the lump on his head.

Lupin stopped when found he was no longer being pursued. "Sirius," he gasped. He turned and ran to where his friend was sitting hunched over in the snow. "If you're fanning injury to trick me I'll box your ears," warned Lupin approaching cautiously. Sirius looked up and Remus got a good look at his head. "Ouch, I guess yer not?" He sat down next to his friend and lover, cupped a handful of snow, and wrapped it in the bottom of his scarf. Placing the other arm around Sirius, he put the homemade icepack up to his forehead. "Guess that will show you not to play practical jokes on werewolf's," sassed Remus.

"Oh shut up and kiss me," replied Sirius pulling Remus in close.
