Dark Children

Chapter 5

Harry was standing in front of his full length mirror in a pair of Hades' old swimming trunks. They fit, that's not what he was worried about. He was worrying about himself. When had he got so bulked up?

"Geez, no one better mess with me when I'm at Hogwarts," Des said strolling into then room with a tiny blue bikini on. "My cousin is all bulky," she said poking his built stomach and biceps. Harry grinned over at her. She put her black sunglasses on the top of her head. She flexed her "muscles" in the mirror.

"Oh, no one better mess with me at Hogwarts," Harry started but ended in an umph as Des hit him playfully in the stomach. The doorbell rang and Des looked at Harry excitedly. Harry pulled on a T-Shirt as Des just walked out in her bikini. Harry was slightly nervous about meeting the neighbors.

"The Weasleys!" Jay announced opening the door. Harry peered down in disbelief. There was Mr. and Mrs. Weasley with the entire Weasley brood from Ginny to Charlie.

"Hello," Drusilla said sweeping them into the room.

"Harry?!" Ron exclaimed looking up at him. Drusilla and Molly Weasley shared a secret knowing smile. Before Harry was half down the stairs and Ron was half up them.

"This is going to be so wicked!" Ron said grinning. Des smiled down at her cousin and strolled down the stairs after him.

"You knew, didn't you?" Harry asked as she walked past them. She smiled innocently.

"Naturally," she said as Damien came down the stairs behind them. He grinned at Harry then followed Des down the stairs.

"Who is she?" Ron asked grinning after Des.

"That's my cousin," Harry said proudly as she met the rest of the Weasley's. George and Fred were putting on the charm and already had Des laughing. "Here I'll introduce her to you." Harry said pulling Ron towards her. "Des," Harry said and she turned. "This is my friend Ron Weasley," Harry said motioning to the reddening Ron. "Ron this is Desdemona Potter, my beautiful cousin." Harry said smiling. Des smiled and shook Ron's outstretched hand.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you. Harry has told me so much about you and you," she said turning back to the twins. They grinned simultaneously.

"I hope it's all good," George or Fred (Harry still didn't know who was who) said. Des laughed and grabbed both of the twin's arms and led them towards the pool.

"Why didn't you tell me you were living with your godmother?" Ron asked.

"How did you know?" Harry started but stopped as Ron nodded towards Percy. Lucifera and Percy were talking and both looked as though they were trying to outsmart the other. "I wanted to tell you in person and I got so caught up with her." He continued motioning to Des as she and the twins snuck something into Lucifera's and Percy's drinks. Damien, well Josh, was talking to Ginny Weasley who was smiling at Josh. Bill and Charlie were both talking to Hades who seemed interested in everything the eldest of the Weasley children were saying.

"So are you ok here?" Ron asked worriedly. "Not like the Dursley's?"

"Oh no," Harry said grinning as the twins and Des pushed Percy and Lucifera into the glimmering pool then des proceeded pushing both the twins in. She smiled triumphantly down at them until Damien and Josh tackled her into the water. Ginny shrugged her shoulders and jumped in too. "I haven't been here that long but it feels right here. You know?" Harry questioned Ron. "Des is the biggest sweetheart ever. She's helped me a lot so far. Damien keeps to himself. Josh might as well be another cousin he's here so often. Hades is easy to get along with. He's going to be the new DADA professor next year. Lucifera is so much like Percy, it's weird. Aunt Dru is awesome," Harry finished. Ron nodded.

"Should we join them?" Ron asked warily motioning to the rowdy pool. They were having chicken fights. Ginny was on George's shoulders fighting off Des who was on Fred's. They seemed to be getting along fine. Des was winning but that was only due to the fact that Damien tripped George to help his sister win.

"Yeah," Harry said. "I want to take on Des." Ron laughed and they both jumped into the pool.

"Des, we're challenging you!" Ron yelled when he surfaced. Des turned to look at Fred who nodded. She scrambled onto his shoulders and he grinned thankfully to Ron. Harry climbed onto Ron's bulky shoulders and grinned over at Des.

"Let's go Des," Harry teased and she laughed evilly.

"You don't know what you got yourself into Harry," she said sweetly. "I'm the reining champion of chicken fights. Ask Hades, he still has bruises and teeth marks," Des said grinning over at Hades.

"It's true!" He yelled. "It's all true! Ron you better be up to some Damien fighting too! Little bugger bit my ankles the whole time!" Damien smiled innocently next to Fred. Harry looked down at Ron who shrugged and almost threw Harry off. Des giggled as Fred crept nearer to Harry and Ron. Ron came on too fast and soon he and Harry toppled into the water. Des and Fred gave a hoot of triumph and Fred grabbed Des' hands helping her off of his shoulders. He spun her around and then she was lifted onto Damien and George's shoulders.

"Ladies and Gentlemen!" Fred announced. "I give you the champion of tonight's chicken fight festivities! The lovely Miss Desdemona Potter!" Bill and Charlie whistled along with Hades cheering. The adults just laughed and everyone gave a polite round of applause. Des waved at her eyes jokingly.

"I would like to thank the academy," she said sniffling. "And my wonderful chicken fight partner, Fred Weasley. I couldn't have done it without you!" She said launching herself at him. Giving him a kiss on each cheek then waving at the crowd. Everyone laughed as Fred turned as bright red as his wet hair. After hours of pool games like Marco Polo, sharks and minnows, and a very interesting game of Colors, did Jay finally announce that dinner would be served in an hour.

"Until we meet again," Fred said extravagantly taking Des's hand in his own and kissing it softly. A blush crept up Des' face and she smiled at Fred.

"Yes, until," she said fluttering her eyelashes prettily. "Ginny!" she called. "You can get ready in my room!" Ginny nodded grinning at the other girl knowingly. Both girls raced up the stairs to Des's room.

"You guys can get ready in my room," Harry offered to Ron, George, and Fred. Fred was off in la la land looking up the stairs after Des.

"Yeah," Fred said following Harry up the stairs in a daze.

Chapter 6

Desdemona lay back on her bed. Ginny peered down at her.

"I thought I had it bad," Ginny said.

"What are you talking about?" Des said lifting her head to look up at her. Ginny laughed.

"You know what I'm talking about," Ginny said. Des grinned and blushed.

"Oh that," Des said.

"Yes that," Ginny said. "I have never seen Fred so out of it. He only pulled one joke today. He likes you!"

"What?" Des said. "No, you think so?" Ginny giggled at her new found friend.

"Yes I think so," Ginny told her. "Do you have anything to wear? I mean I brought stuff, but I want to impress your brother." Des laughed and they went to her closet.

"I think I'm in love," Fred said falling onto Harry's floor. Ron and George heaved Fred onto Harry's bed, laughing.

"I think you're in love too," Harry said. "That's my cousin your messing with so don't break her heart." Fred looked horrified.

"Who would break such a beautiful thing?" Fred asked poetically. George snorted.

"Anyway," Ron went on. "Harry, are you guys invited to the Malfoy Mansion next Friday?"

"Yeah," Harry said grinning. "But I think it might be kind of fun with Des there. She's the life of a party. I'm sure we can find some way to get Malfoy in trouble. Oh and Damien, he is great at getting back at people."

Ron grinned. "Oh, now I'm defiantly coming!" he said smiling as George heaved Fred into Harry's bathroom and ran a cold shower over him.

"I never knew the day I would have to hose my brother off," George said grinning. Harry and Ron laughed as Fred just smiled under the cold water. After all of the boys got ready, they all headed down the stairs to the dining room. Jay stood in the corner surveying everyone who came down.

"You ready?" Des asked Ginny smiling. "Ginny that dress looks really good on you."

"Do you think he'll like it?" Ginny asked Des as she pinned up Ginny's curly hair.

"He'll love it," Des told her reassuringly. "If we hurry I bet I can get him and Josh to escort us down." Ginny nodded and Des hurriedly pinned up her own now curly hair. They both slipped on some of Des' stiletto heels and walked out of her bedroom. Des knocked on Damien's door and it immediately opened. Josh was standing in the doorway with khaki pants on and a tight polo shirt.

"Hello ladies," Josh said looking at them both approvingly. "Need escorts?" Des smiled.

"Thanks Josh," Des said. "Damien you look nice," Des said, winking at Ginny.

"So do you..." Damien trailed off when he saw Ginny. Ginny blushed under his stare.

"Ginny, you look beautiful," Damien put it simply.

"Thank you," Ginny said blushing. Ok, so maybe Des was right. The dark velvety green dress fitted her form beautifully and stopped just above her knees. The black stiletto heels tied up her creamy white legs and complemented the green dress perfectly.

"I want to make the other guys jealous," Josh said impatiently sticking his arm out to Des who took it. Des was wearing a short but flowing skirt that hung on her hips. A tiny black heart tattoo could be seen on her right hip bone. The corset top tied up the front and pushed out her... er... assets. Her black heels just made her taller, but she still wasn't taller then her brother and Josh. Her dark hair was curled and pulled on top of her head. A blue tendril of hair fell in her face. Damien was of course in all black.

"Yes, shall we," Damien said sticking his arm out to Ginny and smirking over at her. Ginny smiled and took it graciously. Jay smiled as he looked up at them and announced their entrance.

"Mistresses Desdemona Potter and Virginia Weasley along with Masters Damien Potter and Joshua Gilbert," Jay announced causing everyone to turn. Fred got up from his own seat to help Dess into her own, next to him. Ginny was led next to Des which on her other side sat Damien. Ginny and Des shared a secret grin that turned into giggles.

"Girls," Josh commented to George, Ron, and Harry who were all staring at the love sick teens.
